Perhaps if it was another girl, he would not have been so worried, but it was Charlie, and he was very afraid to disappoint her.
"My parents and sisters will be away at my grandmother's next Friday. I'll pretend that I'm sick and stay at home. Come over to my place after school and we'll do it."
Charlie was so calm, as if they were not going to have sex for the first time, but were going to study for a calculus test.
"You're not nervous at all, aren't you?"
"For what, Ollie? Everyone goes through this. I don't expect the first time to be perfect, so don't worry about it." Charlie got up from the bed and pulled off her red sweater. "Liz says it's like riding a bike - everyone falls down until they learn."
Charlie unhooked her flesh-colored bra, threw it on a chair, and remained naked to the waist.
Oliver's jaw dropped.
"What are you doing?"
"Have you ever touched a woman's breasts, Ollie?"
Oliver wanted to laugh nervously, which he would have done had she not looked at him so earnestly.
"You know I haven't."
"It's time, Ollie," Charlie smiled. "Do it."
She sat on the bed, waiting for him to touch her breasts.
Oliver swallowed hard. What should he do? He watched plenty of adult movies and saw how this was done, but he was afraid to make a mistake.
Charlie had small, rounded breasts with small, neat nipples.
Can you call nipples "neat"? The boy had the wrong thoughts at the wrong time.
He wanted to touch her so badly!
Every time Ollie kissed Charlie, he wanted to touch her breasts and also put his hand in her panties. These thoughts confused Oliver, because of them he was always turned on, and, as it turned out, Charlie knew it.
He sat down closer to the girl and, reaching out his hand, timidly touched her breasts. She was warm and very gentle. He wanted to repeat it, but he looked questioningly at Charlie. She seemed relaxed and didn't seem to mind.
This gave Oliver more courage. He completely covered Charlie's left breast, and it was a pleasant weight in his palm. Her nipples became hard and, quite emboldened, Ollie ran his thumb over one of them.
Charlie sighed softly, reacting to his touch for the first time. Ollie glanced at her warily, but she gave him a reassuring smile.
"It feels nice, Ollie. Continue."
Continue. So what should he do next? What did the men do in those movies that he secretly likes to watch?
"Charlie, can I kiss your boobies?" Oliver asked softly, thinking of only one thing.
I'm going to kiss Charlie's boobies. Kissing Charlie's boobies...
"Ollie, you can do whatever you want," She smiled. "Maybe if I lie down, it will be more comfortable for you?"
Charlie moved to the middle of his semi-double bed, resting her head on the pillow.
The thought crossed Ollie's mind to ask her not to wait until next Friday. Desire and impatience overcame awkwardness and excitement.
Don't ruin everything, he prayed to himself, leaning in for a kiss.
It seems that Charlie's nipples have become even harder, just like Ollie himself...
He stuck his tongue out and ran it up and down the nipple. Charlie flinched a little, but he already knew it was from pleasure, so he repeated it.
Charlie closed her eyes, biting the corner of her mouth. Her breathing became restless. She planned it as an experiment, not expecting much, but unexpectedly it turned out to be very pleasant.
Charlie's stomach tightened and she exhaled noisily as Ollie's warm lips cupped her nipple. Charlie reached up and ran her fingers through Ollie's soft hair as he kissed her breasts bolder and bolder. Charlie let out soft moans that were getting harder to contain.
She felt Ollie's hand on her stomach, and the hand moved down, slowly approaching the waistband of her jeans.
"Charlie," Ollie breathed hopefully, rising to look into her eyes.
Charlie's eyes sparkled, her cheeks flushed, and she was panting heavily, but she didn't ask to stop. No, she really wanted him to continue.
Oliver's faltering fingers touched the button on her jeans as the door slammed downstairs.
"Damn it!"
Oliver jumped backwards so much that he ended up on the floor. It all happened so quickly and awkwardly that Charlie couldn't help but laugh, even though she had to get dressed quickly, otherwise Mr. Scott might catch them. He usually doesn't come back until the store closes, but he came back early today.
"Charlie, stop it!" Oliver tossed her bra and sweater to her, feeling angry for falling down and at Charlie's reaction.
She found a good time to laugh!
"Are you okay?" She asked once she calmed down, quickly pulling on her clothes.
Mr. Scott's footsteps could be heard somewhere in the kitchen.
"Yes." Ollie got terribly embarrassed and scratched the back of his head.
"Next Friday, Ollie." Charlie kissed the frustrated guy on the cheek and jumped out of bed, "You, me and the bike," she winked slyly at him.
Charlie
The morning after the funeral, I woke up at dawn. It was not even seven yet, I still had time to sleep, but after lying in bed for a few minutes in the morning silence, I realized that I would not be able to fall asleep again.
I quietly left the room as I threw a robe over my pajamas. The old floorboards familiarly creaked under my feet; the top baluster of the stairs has been loose since I was a teenager; and here's a dent in the wood paneling - it got there after I threw a book at Liz, and hit the wall.
Everything in this house to the last carnation was familiar to me, everything remained in its place. Only dad was gone.
The owner left and will never come back.
To my surprise I found my mother in the kitchen. She was grasping her cup of coffee and gazing out the window, but it occurred to me that she wasn't even paying attention to what was going on the street.
We didn't really talk yesterday, but we can't avoid each other forever.
"Good morning."
Mom turned her head and looked at me for a moment as if she did not recognize who was in front of her.
"Coffee is there," She waved towards the coffee pot, turning back to the window.
I took the cup and poured coffee in it.
"You are up early."
Mom sighed.
"I didn't go to bed. Can't sleep in a bed that doesn't have Mitch in it."
I let my face contort, it's a good thing Mom didn't see.
"Maybe you should..." I cleared my throat, raising my voice a little. "Try to change the surroundings for a while?"
"That won't help." Mom moved away from the window and now looked at me. "No, it won't help."
"If you don't mind, I would like to stay at home for a while."
"Why should I mind, Charlie?" She weakly shrugged. "Stay."
Frankly, I was relieved, because I was not sure that she would not refuse.
"What about your job? Aren't they waiting for you in California?"
I shook my head.
"Nothing that can't wait."
"Did Oliver come yesterday?" Mom suddenly asked.
I thought that she did not see him, because by that moment she had already left for her room.
"Yes, we talked a little. Nothing really."
I felt obliged to justify myself. Mom was silent for a few seconds, which made me nervous. And then she said what I least expected to hear:
"You should have told him, Charlie."
And after that I was left alone in the kitchen.

I needed to find something to keep myself busy, so that there would not be a lot of time for various unnecessary thoughts. I went all over the house and found what I had to do.
As soon as I got out of the car in the parking lot of Scott Building Materials, I began to doubt my decision.
I needed a lacquer, and I also wanted to see Ollie. There was no need to lie to myself that it wasn't. Yesterday we parted as old friends. Except for some awkward moments, everything went well. And today I felt the need to see him again.
But it may turn out that he is not here.
The hall and the cash register were empty. I looked around, and an involuntary smile appeared on my face - Ollie and I spent so much time in this store when we were children!
I remembered, Mr. Scott's office used to be on the third floor. Maybe Ollie's office is there now. Without giving myself a chance to change my mind, I climbed the stairs to the top, but the office was also empty.
Hm. Where is everyone? It cannot be that there was no one in the store, otherwise it would not be open.
I closed the office door just as the door on the opposite side of the hallway, which had once led to an empty apartment, opened, letting Ollie out.
"Hey, I'm here..."
I faltered as I saw a girl following Ollie, buttoning her blouse as she walked out.
