Chapter 6 Drunk

Chantria

It took me a few seconds to realize what was happening. Carleigh was already beating up the guy who called me a gold digger. People were watching them but no one moved to stop them.

That was my cue to stop my twin sister before she could kill this man. She needed to learn how to control her anger, especially when it comes to me and Chanel. I've noticed it for a long time that she tend to become violent when it comes to us but I just didn't pay attention to it before. She tends to be reckless when it comes to us.

Whenever someone bullies me, she always comes to the rescue. Before, she was not violent. Recently I have noticed that she is being irritable and being physical. And I know, this wasn't good.

"Leigh, stop it! You might kill that." I held her fist before it could land on the guy's face again. The one guy looked handsome. Blood was clearly visible on his cheeks and lips. But it was his fault anyway for calling me that no matter what are his reason.

I took Carleigh away from the man and helped her. I held both of Carleigh's cheeks and looked into her burning eyes. She didn't even want to get rid of the bad look for the man.

"Leigh, look at me." I continued speaking when he looked at me. "I'm okay. Nothing happened to me. He just called me a gold digger, so no need to kill a guy for that. You need to calm down."

Her breath was shaky. "Calm down? He f-cking called my twin a gold digger. No one calls my twin a gold digger! I won't let anyone."

"I know. I understand." I told him to imitate me and we started breathing deeply until I knew she had calmed down somehow.

This was a rare scenario where our prim sister gets mad. Most of the time, Carleigh was the most composed among the three of us. And I hated it when these things happen. I don't want to see her angry like this. Not just because she wanted to be a police officer and she shouldn't hurt other people lightly. Maybe that was one of the reasons. But I didn't want her to have anger management either because I knew it would be difficult.

This started when Mom died. She was the apple of the eye of my aunts when we were kids because she was kind, quiet and smart. But when Mom was gone, she often became hotheaded. Mostly when Chanel and I are involved.

It was just the three of us and Dad together so I understood that she just wanted to protect us. But as time goes on, I didn't like what was happening anymore. I didn't want her to solve everything using violence. As the eldest, I wanted to stop this from worsening. And I have to.

"Let's go back to the cabin now, okay?" I said. "Then, I'll look for Chanel. We need to rest. We're here to enjoy, not to stress ourselves out."

I breathed a sigh of relief when I was sure she had calmed down. She didn't look at the man again, which was good because his head might get hot again. I didn't bother looking at the guy as well. I had to admit that what he said pissed me off too. If it wasn't for what happened, we might still be facing the man. I was not the violent type.

I didn't know him and I didn't understand why he was so angry at me. If someone has done something bad to him, it is not a solution to suddenly say something without a valid proof. He didn't even listen to my explanation.

Anyway, I really hope I never see that man again, especially by Carleigh. I didn't know what could happen by chance.

I just felt helpless when I saw Chanel staggering into a bar again. I didn't know what I'm going to do with this girl. Maybe when she grows up, all she does is drink. I was thankful now because she doesn't get into fights because of what she does. I heard drunk people tend to pick fights most of the time.

"Chanel!" I shouted through the loud noise. "Let's go back to the cabin. Carleigh's already there!"

"I'm not done drinking yet. You go back first!" she shouted back.

"It's dinner time, Chanel. Come on! Did you at least eat something before drinking?"

"I did!" She stopped for a while. "Did I?"

I was in agony again when she laughed out loud because of what she said. She's really drunk. I didn't want to add to Carleigh's temper so I had to get her back to the cabin. Because when Chanel does something that Leigh doesn't like after what happened, I don't want to think about what could happen.

"Are you going to go back to the cabin or I'll ask Carleigh to pick you up?"

And yup, that was the cue. Because of that she just snorted before saying goodbye to her new friends. Some of them were drunk too, but some were still sober. The foreigners seemed nice, but I didn't want to gamble. I needed to get my twin back to our room.

I put Chanel's arm around my shoulder before we made our way back. She was telling me all kinds of things about what happened in her day, but I only understood that she was drinking. Apart from the fact that I couldn't really understand what she was saying, I was just focused on walking without both of us tripping.

I stopped walking when I again saw the man who called me a gold digger earlier. He was tending to his wound while walking towards us. And it didn't take long before he looked at me before stopping.

At first he frowned again and looked angry again. But when he saw Chanel that I was leading, his frown disappeared and was replaced by parting of the lips. I didn't know what's up with this guy, but I didn't care about him now. When he confronts me again, I wouldn't be defeated. I might be the one to beat him.

Charot.

I was not good at punching. I might get hurt if I do that. So all I could do was run away.

"F-ck, Chanel! Don't be naughty. You thought you are light, didn't you?" I exclaimed.

"I am! I'm on a diet since birth." She snorted before laughing out loud.

And it's really nice to be teased by this girl sometimes. Actually, always. Since childhood, I have been her subject of joy and I was also the same to him. So we were just even. But sometimes I really don't understand how her thinking patterns work.

I threw her on her bed before stretching his shoulders. I was not lying when I say she's heavy. She was taller than me by a few inches and had a matured body. Among the three of us, I was the smallest and thinnest.

I was not too thin. As for the height, I really didn't want to talk because I feel like I was lacking in everything. I think, my brain has also left me.
