Chapter 1 One

The night was as black as ink. With the heavy downpour of rain, Nicole Chapman managed to walk to the hotel in her weak state.

She was just coming back from her place of work- the Skype restaurant where she had gone to postpone her day just to meet up with her boyfriend, Jared Young.

Today was his birthday and she knew too well that she needed to meet him and wished him a happy birthday.

Hotel Finest was one of the luxurious hotel in the city and only the wealthy people could afford it. She was even surprised to know that Jared Young was here without even informing her.

She thought this was unlike him because during the previous time that he came back, he always informed her. Maybe, with all the stress from abroad coming back here, he might have been tired and could probably had forgot informing her.

Without thinking much about it, she carefully wrapped the flowers in her hands and moved further towards the stairs of Hotel Finest. When she had walked past the stairs, she further proceed to the hotel room.

Room 106, she pressed the button of the door but no answer came. Was he so tired that he could not answer the call on the door?

After pressing the button again for another one minutes, she opened the door and walked inside.

Getting inside she saw nobody. Wasn't Jared supposed to be here? Or had she missed the room?

She brought out her phone from her bag and rechecked the room number Katie Young, Jared's sister gave her and saw that it was correct! It was indeed room 106.

Nicole decided to walk to the other room, however;. Unexpectedly the door of the bathroom was suddenly pushed open.

There came the voice of a man and a woman from the corridor. Without giving it another thought, Nicole quickly ran and hid inside the wardrobe.

"Jared darling, aren't you perhaps afraid that Nicole might come here any moment and gets to know of our hidden affair?"

The lady asked him in a worried voice as she continued romancing his chest.

" She is just a common worker in a local restaurant and a low life. I am afraid she won't just leave her job behind and come. And even if she does, she cares more about her job than me." Said Jared as he kissed her cheery lips. "Moreover, she couldn't satisfy me like you did..."

She isn't aware that I have returned back to the state."

Nicole Chapman while still in the wardrobe could not believe all she had just heard.

Had she decided not to leave her work and come here, so this was how Jared would have continued pretending that he still loved her.

She was a fool all this while to have believed he had ever loved and cared for her.

"But you will still get married to her and abandon me, right?" The lady asked again.

Nicole though not seeing her physically, could tell that there was a worried expressions on her face.

" Of course not Sweetheart; I will go to your family soon and cut off the engagement. You are the one I love and want to spend the rest of my life with." Jared said again. This all made Nicole even more angry.

What a big fool she was! Four years ago in order to win Jared Young's heart, Nicole had resigned from her commercial job in the highest paying commercial company in Q city to become his girlfriend.

At that time, all the girls in Q city was dreaming of having Jared all to themselves, but she was the one he had picked hence Nicole felt head high, however how could she not realize that he never really loved her.

I mean, how could someone like Jared Young ever loved a low like like her? She was so foolish to think that Jared loved her.

She told him that they could only get intimate after they were married to which he agreed without hesitation.

But now, it turned out that he wasn't faithful in their relationship and even had even slept with a woman behind her back.

But wait, the lady with him; Why did her voice sound familiar?!

Since the voice of the woman with Jared was familiar, Nicole decided to see who it was.

She gently opened the wardrobe and managed to peeped at them without either of the couples seeing her.

Like a thunderstruck in lighting to her, Nicole could not believe the person. it was actually Amelia Chapman~ her younger sister and someone who she had always thought loved her a lot.

How could Amelia betray her trust and stabbed her behind the back?

Clenching her fists and with tears still in her eyes, Nicole tried not to make a sound.

Her fingernails digging into her palm. It was until Jared and Amelia walked back to the bathroom to take a bath and perhaps continue their love making together that she find the opportunity to get away from the hotel room without either of them seeing her!

However, just when she took one step backward towards the door....

"Hey stop! Who is there?"

Jared, as though he was suspicious that some one was watching him quickly ran out from the bathroom still with a towel in his waist.

At that moment, Nicole saw another door next to her which was ajar and quickly sneaked inside the room.

Standing next to the door of the other hotel room, she quietly listened to the sound coming from the corridor of Jared own hotel room. Thank goodness that he didn't see her.

Nicole couldn't calm down till she saw Jared went back to his hotel room, that was when she heaved a sigh of relief.

Yet, she suddenly became scared again as if her heart got twisted by a rope. She recalled that while she had gone to Jared's room with the flower in her hands, she had taken a sip of the bottled drink beside his bed because she was thirsty. Could it be it was drugged?..

At that moment, the door to the bathroom in the room she hid was suddenly pushed open.
