Chapter 9 Illicit Secret

I began thinking if I should call out to her and then decided that I might just be panicking for no good reason.

"Mo..." I whispered her name when I reached the door.

Her name died on my lips as my body froze at what I witness through the ajar door. For a moment, I was confused as I stood there listening to Monica's strangled and muffled cries.

Monica's cries filled my ears as her voice got louder than before. My eyes were glued to the unexpected scene of Monica bent over her desk with the skirt of her dress lifted up to expose her lower body. I heard Mister Helkins ask Monica and I started to panic. Did they realize that I had been spying on them?

It wasn't intentional. How was I supposed to know that they were engaged in that kind of affair? As far as I was aware, Mister Helkins was married and had a family of his own living with him in the city. That means that they're having an affair, right?

No. This isn't the time to be worried about that. I need to get out of here...

I forced my legs to move from the spot when I realized that the sooner that I got out of that place, the better. There was no way that I should let them discover that I was here.

"You mean Mila?" Monica asked knowingly.

Paul took out a cigarette and lit it before offering it to Monica. She gladly took the cigarette from his fingers and placed it in between her lips. A calculating smile curved her lips and she seemed to be deep in thought.

"The girl who was here just now..." Paul replied casually.

Monica's eyes widened in slight surprise before it narrowed when she realized that she wasn't the only one who realized that they were being watched just now. It didn't seem to bother Paul, and frankly, it didn't really bother her either. However, it might cause her some trouble if words were to get out. Controlling the girls and making sure that they behaved well was her job and she didn't want anything complicating that or making her life harder.

"Her name is Mila," Monica replied emotionlessly.

"Is she still a virgin?" Paul asked.

Monica smirked because she knew exactly where this conversation was going. She was expecting it for a while now because Mila had already grown into a young woman. She's no longer a girl...

"Of course, she is. Since arriving here, she has never left this place," Monica confirmed with confidence.

"Any issues with her?" Paul asked casually.

"No. She's normal. She's so normal that I'm afraid the buyer might find her boring. Oh...her eyes are a different color from one another. I don't know if that's an issue or not. If you don't look too closely, you can't really tell, but one of her eyes is green while the other is a hazel brown..." Monica replied honestly before chuckling a little to herself.

"A defect from birth, huh?" Paul murmured as he scratched in chin in thought.

"Probably..." Monica replied without much care.

"There are many rich people with preferences for strange things. She might sell for a high price if we market her well and to the right people," Paul concluded after a moment of thought.

"I'll leave it to you then," Monica replied with a smile.

Paul smiled back and they both understood each other without the need for words. Monica was thankful to be rid of another girl. When a girl graduated from here based on Paul's recommendation and was offered a 'decent job' in the city, Monica would receive a lump sum of money and that was what kept her going. It was all that she ever looked forward to.
