Chapter 4 Goodbye

Last night was memorable, though I intended to leave at eleven, I stayed up till 1 AM. We got so overwhelmed by the euphoria of the evening and the after-party that we lost count of the time. I thought I wouldn't sleep well due to the few hours left before dawn, surprisingly I had a great sleep.

It's time to pack my clothes and belongings into luggages, both girls set in to assist me. Adrian promised to send in a car to come pick me up and any moment from now, it will arrive. I look up to the clock in the world, it's 8:53 AM. I finish up with everything and I just have to wait for Adrian's car to arrive. Sure, he's not going to be the one to drive but one of his drivers.

"Girl, I'm just so surprised at how you made it to the final list."

I look up at Brenda with a smile on my lips. I thought she said he was gonna reject me because of what happened three years ago. It didn't turn out as she said, but I know she said this out of true concern. All my mind tells me now is that I'm not the one who did best, there are so many more sophisticated girls than me, I'm even sure porn stars must be among them but he chose me just to reconnect with me. If so, which I'm sure it is, he's in for a heartbreak because I wouldn't fail to give him the worst heartbreak, a revenge for what he did to me.

"Hmmm," I sigh. "I never knew I would make it but I think he has a secret plan on this as I'd already told you girls."

"Sure, you did." Alexi cuts in.

"No matter what, don't fall for him!"

"Don't worry Brenda, you've been telling me this several times, I wouldn't disappoint you, neither would I disappoint myself."

"Take the pleasure and money he gives you, enjoy every bit of it, it's your compensation for what he did to you but never make a fool of yourself by offering him your heart, who knows this time around, he'd leave no room for you to ever have the pieces."

We all break out into a fit of laughter at Brenda's words, it looks true but anywhere we see how things go. It might not even be that he wants me back, whatever, I'm going to be his escort, accompany him on every fucking event, pretend to be the most warmed girlfriend and give him fucking sex at night, get paid at the end of the month. That's all! I don't see my life with him more than that. I'll fit into my duty so perfectly well.

"So how long are you gonna keep pretending with him?"

"Perhaps, till he finds a girlfriend or wife. Pray it takes up to a year or a little bit more, where I can gather enough to help ourselves for all time, then I'll sign out."

"What if he doesn't?" Alexandria cuts in with a suspicious tone and glare. I guess she wants to test me, she wants to know what I'm gonna say here. But I'll have to give her the truth.

"How does that have to do with me? That's absolutely all his business, perhaps he can hire someone else. I have my dreams to pursue and a whole life to live. Do you think I'll continue spending my time with him, more than I should for the bucks and wasting my years?"

"No, I never thought that. You have a good idea there."

"Yes Alexi, I plan to resign after a year or two. I should be able to make a sufficient amount with three hundred thousand dollars a month, build a better house of our own, buy cars for ourselves and invest more into business which would make us independent."

"Glad you have a large heart, which accommodates all of us. Most would enjoy the money all by themselves."

"No! Why would I do that? I can't do that Brenda. You and Alexi are such loving sisters, I feel this is the little reward I can give to you both."

"Come on, don't say that Estella. It's such a great reward and we're awed."

A black Limo pulls up before our apartment, as the driver stops, a guy opens the back door, and comes out approaching our door. He knocks at it, I open readily because I was so prepared for this. The tears we'd been fighting off for days finally revisits us and this time around, we aren't able to be resist it. We break down in each other's arms. I'm pretty sure this man came to assist me take my luggages to the car, his professional disposition changes and before I realized, he's wiping tears off his eyes. He moves closer and envelops the three of us into a group hug like the brother we never had.

"Don't worry, it will be alright. Everything will be alright. You aren't losing your sister to any undesirable occurrence, she's just going to work and will be back with lots of goodies at the end of the day." He consoles Alexi and Brenda, this soothes them to a great extent. They get to remember the promises I made to them, it's all true and the end of the day here is when I'll be back home finally, upon resignation to live with my family.

"Estella, be a good girl! Remember what I told you."

"Yes Brenda." I smile then give a nod to reaffirm my earlier stance.

"I'll always want to come see you, we will."

"I always want to see you too Alexi."

"Anyway, I'm Luke. I'm assigned to come and pack your things into the car. Adrian sent me."

"Thanks." I mutter. "You can begin the packing."

"Sure!"

He jacks two of my luggages from the ground and carries them off to the car parked a few meters away. I pick a bag, Alexi and Brenda help me with the rest and before we realize nothing is left. It's time to go, no looking back! I stretch forth my face and kiss my sisters goodbye on both cheeks. The most emotional moment. Adrian's estate is an hour drive upon a congestion and forty minutes with none, there is nothing much to disturb themselves about, it's still in New York and not some other city.

"Goodbye!" I wave to them as the Limo starts to slowly pull out of our apartment vicinity into the street. I look through the window waving, although it's tinted and they wouldn't be able to see me. We wave at each other till they are out of sight.

I retract my gaze with a sigh. The house would be lonely with only two of them, they had been used to being three. I wouldn't fail to send part of my salary home as soon as I'm paid. They really need it and I wouldn't hesitate.

"Is Adrian at home? Sorry, his estate?" I ask Luke who is taking his seat beside me in this Limo which looks like a cool living room with executive seats and a TV documentary going on.

"Make yourself comfortable," he gestures to the drinks and snacks placed on the table.

"Thanks." I pick out one of the drinks and a turkey pie.

"He is gonna be out to a night party today, so your work starts today."

What a task to undertake on my first day. I'm sure it's gonna be a stripper club. It's a favorite of a spoiled wealthy brat type of a CEO like him.
