Chapter 6 Fall Into The Devil's Trap

I sat quietly in the chair by the bed where Valentino was sleeping. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of his handsome face. I can't lie to myself that I love watching him while he sleeps.

Nervousness took over me as he opened his eyes, looking into mine. "Evelyn," he said my name in his weak voice. I could tell by looking into his eyes that he really expected me to come to see him.

"I'll forgive you, but you have to promise me you'll never do that again," I said, staring deep into his eyes.

He breathed a sigh of relief, placing his hand close to his heart when he watched me nod my head to forgive him. "Thank you so much, Evelyn. Thank you for forgiving me," he said gratefully.

I gave him a smile. I don't know why I can't hate him. I feel bad seeing him sad because of me. He smiled back at me with happiness filling his eyes. My heart beats happily at seeing his smile.

He suddenly remembered something. "Have you met my friend David?" he asked me.

I responded with a nod. "He told me what had happened. You can't stand the cold. Why do you keep waiting for me in the snow?" I asked in worry.

He stared at me with guilt and sadness in his eyes. "To punish myself for doing something bad to you," he replied.

Tears filled my eyes. He has touched my heart with his words and deeds. I avoided his eyes and looked ahead, trying to hide how I felt from him. We were both silent. I could feel that he kept staring into my face.

"Where is David now?" he asked, breaking the silence. "He's back in your office to work on Emma's case," I replied into his eyes.

I quickly stood up from the chair as he stood up from the bed. "Why did you leave the bed?" I asked him.

"I have to go to the office now," he replied.

I quickly held his arm. "No! You can't go! You should rest now. Don't make me worry about you," I said. I don't know why I'm so worried about him.

The look in his eyes suddenly turned soft. I could see the tenderness and happiness in his eyes. "Thank you for worrying about me. Evelyn, you make me feel so happy," he said in a soft voice.

I avoided his eyes as I took my hand from his arm with my heart racing. He laughed softly at my blushing face.

"Did you come here with Edgar?" he asked me. I responded with a nod, without looking at him.

"Could you take me to my office? I'm feeling better now. I have to help David with the case," he said. I nodded my head again while kept looking ahead. I'm too shy to look him in the eyes.

"Thank you, Evelyn," he said, and was silent for a moment. " Could ... you wait for me outside for a bit?" he asked.

I looked into his eyes. "Why?" I asked, curious.

"I have to change my clothes, but you can stay here if you don't mind," he said and smiled teasingly.

"I-I'll wait outside," I said in nervous. He chuckled, seeing my face. My face must be as red as a boiled crab by now. I rushed out of the room, biting my lip in embarrassment. I have butterflies in my stomach every time I'm with him.

"What are you doing here? You should be with Evelyn by now," asked David, who was sitting as he saw Valentino walk into their workroom and sit in the chair opposite David's chair.

"No need to worry. She believed our lies and forgave me. She even drove me here in her car," Valentino said and smiled.

David chuckled. "That girl is so innocent. She is so easy to fool." His eyes shone devilishly as he thought of Evelyn's beauty. "Damn! She's so beautiful and her body is amazing. She makes me want to f*ck her," he said in a raspy voice.

Valentino responded with just a smile. His face suddenly turned serious. "How is it going? Has he called you?"

David smiled in victory. "We got him! He called me and he agreed to meet us at the nightclub tonight."

Valentino had the same smile as David had. "His son must pay for what he did. We will make him rot in jail," he said with anger filling his eyes. David nodded in agreement with the same look as him.

The sun had set by the time Valentino and David arrived at a fancy nightclub. They got out of their cars and walked into the club to the VIP room. An old man in an expensive suit immediately stood up from the sofa when he saw them walking into the room and standing before him.

"Mr. Gray, I've been waiting for you," the man said as he held out his hand. Valentino shook the man's hand with a smile. He enjoyed seeing the anxiety in the man's eyes.

"Please have a seat," the man said after he shook David's hand. They all then sat on the sofa.

"Mr. Richard Bransen. David told me you called him. You wanted to meet us at this club," Valentino said into the man's eyes.

"Yes. I want you to help my son win the case and send the girl to jail. I'll give you two million," said the man.

"That's a lot of money you'd give us," Valentino said, feigning surprise. His face suddenly turned serious. "I wanted to ask you before I helped your son. Did Mr. Eric Bransen try to rape Emma Brown?"

"Yes, he did. That's why I need your help," the man replied in desperation.

Valentino and David looked at the man with concern in their eyes, but they laughed triumphantly inside. "No need to worry, Mr. Bransen. We will help your son. You will get what you pay for," Valentino said.

"Thank you! Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it," the man said with a relieved smile on his face. Valentino and David fake smiles at him.

"Have a drink with me! I've ordered the best champagne for us," the man said in an excited tone. They took the glasses of champagne that were on the table in front of them. "Cheers!" they said before they drank their drinks.

"Mr. Bransen. Your son is handsome and rich, but why would he try to rape his maid? He can get any pretty girl he wants easily," David asked, curious.

The man sighed. "My son can't stand beauty. He has f*cked his maids, but that girl was the first to reject him and refuse his money."

"There are things money can't buy. Your son should know that," Valentino said with anger in his voice and eyes.

Valentino forced himself to smile. "You're right. Money can buy everything," he said. They all then laughed to break the awkwardness.

"Well then. I have to go now. I still have work to do. You two just stay here. I have prepared a gift for you," the man said.

"A gift? For us?" Valentino asked, curious.

The man answered with just a smile and stood up from the sofa, followed by Valentino and David. "Enjoy your evening. See you in court," he said and shook hands with them and left the room.

Valentino took the recording device out of his jacket pocket and turned it off as they sat back on the sofa. "They're going nowhere now but to jail," Valentino said into David's eyes. "I can't wait to see them rot in jail," said David. They had triumphant smiles on their faces.

The door to the room opened and two beautiful, sexy girls wearing short black dresses walked into the room with flirtatious smiles on their faces. "Hi handsome. Can we join you guys?" one girl asked. The girls couldn't take their eyes off Valentino.

Valentino and David looked at each other with a smile. Now they know what gift they are waiting for.
