Chapter 6 Chaos Breaks Out

Celeste's POV:

I smile at that. But don't continue further. Lunch is served and it's kind of hard to eat considering I have to do everything with only one arm. Thank God, Owen is with me and he helps me to eat the lasagna we both ordered.

The couple in front of us ordered some kind of burger. Their eating habits don't change even if they are at the most renowned place known for its cuisines.

When we are thinking about ordering dessert, the owner at least I think she's the owner, walks over to us, smiling, "Can I recommend?"

I look at them surprised, and they have matching expressions, "Umm sure... But may I know why Ms. Colton is going out of her way to recommend?"

She smiles but goes ahead recommending something they have recently added to the menu, Nutella-filling Macrons. We all agree on ordering them. Once the order is placed, I repeat the same question as before,

"Firstly, my wife's name is Evelyn Theodore. Also, I believe someone owes you an apology." A slightly older guy says pulling his wife to his side and kissing the temple of her head. They are lucky to have found each other.

I don't understand what they mean by that but before I have a chance to ask, the guy I was assuming would ignore me, shows up and scratches the back of his neck, "I am sincerely sorry for what happened to your shoulder. I didn't know that you were injured."

That is when all chaos breaks Alex reacts before I could've thought. Shit! This is so not what I was thinking. Ana and Owen try to interfere and from their side, Mr. Theodore and what seems like his brother and friends try to pull them apart.

"ALEX!" I shout, he stops, suddenly, then looks at me in murderous contempt, "He could've killed you! If I didn't treat you in time! Do you even realize that? Or are you going to go ahead and leave him spot-free? Sorry, I don't have as much patience as you do, Celeste."

"You don't. That's why it's my final warning to you. Leave him or lose me, forever." All color drains from his face but he finally leaves Xavier to go. He really did a number on him not that Xavier was any less.

"Fine! You're lucky that she's with me. Otherwise, no one could stop me from killing you today." Alex spits out and leaves fuming.

Next time we are gonna have a nice meal at home, yup that sounds splendid. Owen signs to me what in hell's name happened? Something he does when becomes too anxious. Which is rare, considering his personality.

With one hand working I tell him in sign language 'I will explain on our way home. I close my eyes and open them, taking a look at the wreckage. It would be a believable lie that there was a movie stunt being performed if not for the there are no cameras nothing.

Why the hell I'd agree with this restaurant but then again, no one would've ever guessed that this have happened, "Do I want to know why this room looks like a tornado just hit this place?" Evelyn asks re-entering the room with the waiter behind her carrying the desserts.

"Nothing really. Now you won't demand me to apologize next time. This is the result." The guy who got bashed says pointing toward his face. Wow, he actually has the decency to pinpoint all of it on us.

Agreed, that Alex was wrong in the first place to punch him. But considering the pain he'd caused me, it's only payback, "Considering that I can only work with one arm for 2 weeks, I'd say you got off easily and why I paid the price is because I saved your sister's life? Dude, I don't want to be rude. But be rational, the situation reversed, wouldn't you do the same for the people you love and seeing them in pain?"

"Okay! I admit I was too much. Especially since you are responsible for making my sister open up to us. But why don't try to yourself in my shoes for a moment?! I leave the damn Principal's office to visit my sister only to find she's not there and has disappeared without a TRACE!" He shouts the last word.

The nerve of him, "Oh yeah? Then explain to me what sort of brother were you that you never even noticed your own sister's suffering! The injuries she sustained weren't the first time either. She has been bullied many times. Do you have the slightest idea what sort of psychological factors it contributes to?"

When I wait for him to reply he suddenly acts as if the cat got his tongue, Owen reaches for my hand and gives it a tight squeeze that he's on edge and that if we don't leave, he will retaliate as well... Damn! Why are the men in this make-shift family so hard-headed?

"I apologize on behalf of my friend for what happened... I know that the damage is a bit too excessive. So, I will compensate you for all the cost of repairs. Please contact Campbell Inc. and they'll take care of it." Turning to Owen, "Owen, please give them the card, or better yet, take out a checkbook and write a blank cheque."

Owen sighs and does as I request but before we are able to hand it over, a hand stops him, "We won't be requiring it. What do you mean by you're the reason that Bloom is safe? Also, my friend was only trying to repay you for your kindness. Instead, you owe us an explanation."

"My sister doesn't owe you guys anything. She's too kind for her own sake that she's giving a blank cheque for minor repairs which were already required. Why don't you ask your friend who's tongue-tied how he ended up worsening her injury making her stay unconscious due to pain for 2 and a half days." Owen looks furious. It's the first time I have seen him show emotions on his face so openly... Taking my hand he takes me back to our car and I tell the chauffeur to drop us at home.

Xavier's POV:

The boy takes her hand and drags her away. I know by the look in Evelyn's eyes she wants to stop her but Archer stops her. The couple speaks a few words and heads over to where this entire mess is. I massage my temples just thinking about the explanation I would now be needing to give to them.

"Let's go to my office, everyone please meet us there." With that Evelyn fumes out of the room, with no doubt in my mind that she is furious. Damn it. The hatred that shone in her dark violet eyes that were bordering black was something I shouldn't be bothered with but for some reason, it doesn't sit well with me.

"Damn! That guy really did a number on you, man. This is gonna be interesting to find out what you did." Sebastian, another one from their clan slaps my back and walks out of the room along with the others.

Sighing I follow behind and when I enter the room, I know immediately, shit's already hit the fan when I see Evelyn's icy glare. She hardly gets angry but today she is something, "You're lucky that person Alexander already did a number on you, otherwise, I would give you a beating that would require you to admit to the hospital. How could you?!"

I put my hands up in surrender, "Look, I know, I f**ked-" Archer looks with a promising death,

"Language."

"Dude, there's no kid here..." I don't understand these dumbos...

"No, but we do have a little one coming in a few months so, it still applies," Archer says.

For a few moments, it doesn't register what he'd meant then everyone breaks out cheers and congratulates the couple. They've really had a hard time, considering they already have an adopted daughter who was going through psychological treatment and overall recovery of Evelyn. I am happy to know that they are finally getting the happiness that they deserve.

"I wanted to disclose this at Charlotte's upcoming birthday. But seeing people love to swear when children are not nearby. I thought it's better to disclose now." Evelyn's smile disappears and her scowl comes back.

Taking a seat, I proceed to tell them what happened that day. I thought Bloom was acting a bit weirder then all of a sudden, her grades started dropping. Then when I visited the Principal's office that was my first time seeing her. I thought she was a senior high student or something but when she warned the person behind the desk and the cold sweat that started pouring out of him told me something was not right. But that was it. When I asked more like ordered them to take me to Bloom, they were hesitant and tried stalling when everything failed, they then finally reveal they are unable to find her. That is when my rage and panic hit an all-time high. How could they let this happen to a little girl?

When I am finally able to get a lead, it shocks me to the core to see that she's heading home. Mom is devastated knowing someone kidnapped Bloom. Although we have not known her forever she's become a vital part of our small family.

Another shock for me was when I see her with the same girl that was at the Principal's office in the morning. How on earth did she end with my sister? Mom bursts out in tears and Bloom reciprocates. The girl looks at my mother with apprehension and it angers me that she has the guts to do so. Bloom tells us what happened and parts that she was still afraid to relay to us she told and to say I was in a fit would be an understatement on a whole other level. I wanted to go back and destroy the people who made my sister so insecure and hurt. But I didn't mean to project my anger on her, the girl who saved my sister. However, when she suggested in very obvious words that she was willing to take her away from us I don't know but I lost my temper and grabbed her injured shoulder which at the time I had no idea about. Only when Bloom screamed did I realize something was wrong. She only looked at me with hatred but chilling thing is that she never reacted not once. Except for when Mom wanted to step and redo her bandages as we all saw blood dripping down her shoulder.

Only then I looked at my hand and saw there was some blood on it as well. Damn it! What had I done? She speed walked out of there. I was shocked but not for long when I chased after her. She wasn't okay no matter how one looks at it and she needed medical attention and fast. But my fate was really crappy that day the stupid guards stopped me and I literally wrestled him to the ground and fired him on the spot. Bloom and Mom are still affected by that day.
