Chapter 7 Hot Zain

Mummy stared at me indicating I should go check who is at the door. Who else? If not the unwanted visitor tonight. I stood up gingerly and walked towards the door with shaky legs. Have not seen him and I am behaving like this. What happens if I get to see him, the earth will swallow me then.

While I was walking, I was counting numbers in my mind to calm my nervousness. I was damned nervous and I know it and obviously anyone who sees me at the moment will know that I am nervous.

"Jenny, you are over him"

I restored to saying and it worked like magic because my nervousness stopped. I got to the door and exhaled then inhaled and like the lady who had got her feelings under control, I opened the door to reveal Hot Zain at the door. No doubt the dude is cute, his handsomeness can't be measured.

I stared at him with no expression on my face and when it was obvious he was not going to come in, I stepped aside and invited him in.

"Come in please, brother-in-law"

I said with a charming smile. I had to replace the frown on my face with a sweet smile.

He stepped in gingerly and walked past me with no words.

I released the breath I was holding and jammed the door closed.

I went back to the dining room and sat down. Mummy was all over him and that alone itchy something in me. It's mummy and Susan that do know who the real Zain is.

I should not be bothered about him, I have no business with him anymore.

"Zain, you took me by surprise. You did not even call me like you always do. By the way, how is your wife?"

"Mom, she is good. I see you all doing fine. That last time I saw you was three months back"

He chirped in. There was no way I was going to contribute to their decision so I parked our dishes and left for the kitchen.

Zain's point of view....

For a year plus now, I have not seen Jenny. She is all grown and has flesh all in the right places. I sometimes regret that I had to break up with her. When I met her, she was this naive girl but within some time she turned into the sex freak I wanted. She became everything I wanted in a lady and she never hesitated to make me happy. I was literally her national anthem and at her fifteen birthday party I met her sis and here I am today married to her sister. I treated her badly, the way I told her off was inhuman. I thought I was doing her a favour because she was underage when we started dating. I can't change the past. I must confess she is now more ripening.

I chuckled at my thoughts and looked at my mother-in-law who kept talking, not noticing I was not paying attention to what she was saying.

Jenny returned to the dining room after taking the plates to the kitchen. She pecked her mom and smiled politely at me.

"Mum, I would be going to bed early today"

Jenny said, eyeing me.

"Why don't you spend time with us here and by the way, I thought you were getting something for Zain to eat?"

"You don't have to worry, mother. I am not hungry"

I told her that I was not hungry. I ate my fill before coming.

"Are you sure?"

She asked me, worriedly.

"Of Course, I am not a kid. If I am hungry I will not hesitate to eat here. Here is my home too"

I responded with a smile.

"Since all that is settled, I am excused, right?"

Jenny asked, not looking at any of us.

"Yes darling, you are excused. Have a good night's rest, mummy loves you so much"

"Alright mummy, good night mummy, good night Mr Zain"

She said and left. She never glanced at me. I guessed she was over me and had moved on. I was sad that she had to be over me and that was selfish of me to think. I could not have expected her not to move on when I already moved on.

Jenny's point of view.....

I got to my room and flapped myself in the bed. It's going to be a long night for me with the thought of Zain being here. I might have pretended at the door when I saw him but I could not possibly stop my heart from beating. I can't bring myself to hate this dude.

"Jenny, you are a big fool. Someone that broke your heart, you still yearned for him"

Those would have been the exact words of Tasha if she had been with me at the moment.

"Lean me the grace to overcome this temptation, dear lord"

I prayed and closed my eyes and drafted to Dreamland.

Zain's point of view.....

I spent most of the night talking with my mother-in-law. She had told me all that had been going on with Jenny and had asked me to make sure she is comfortable while she is in my house, which I promised her to do. She did not fail to tell me that Jenny never wanted to come to my house and I guessed she hated me so much that she would not want to be under the same roof with me.

She is this jovial type that would not withhold anything from you.

It was pretty late and my eyelids were closing.

"I really need to sleep now"

I said and she smiled.

"You should. Thanks so much for keeping me company. You know your way around"

The joy on her face was evident.

"Of Course I do"

I stood up, kissed her both cheeks and bid her goodbye.

I made my way to the guest room and as I walked past Jenny's room, I was tempted to go see if she was awake but I decided against it. She would probably not want me around her.

With that saddened thought, I walked into the guest room, ready to go to bed.
