Chapter 3 A Surrogate Bride

The door was pushed open, and a stylishly dressed woman rushed out from inside.

She was Rosina Lynch, Rebecca's half-sister.

"Rosina, come back here!" Her mother, Casey Lynch, followed Rosina out. But Rosina had already gotten in the car and driven away.

"Mom..." Rebecca called out softly. She bit her lower lip, feeling a little uneasy.

Casey turned around and looked at Rebecca up and down with a surprised expression. "Rebecca? What are you doing here? Did something happen?"

Casey was even more surprised to see that Rebecca was a mess.

When Rebecca heard Casey's question, she couldn't hold back her tears anymore. She said between sobs, "Mom, Yosef wants to divorce me. He even wants to kill me."

"What? Are you serious?"

Rebecca told Casey the entire story in half an hour. Casey summed up, "So, because of the mess your father left behind, Yosef plans to divorce you on the ground that you are infertile? But since you overheard their plan, Yosef decided to kill you instead of divorcing you?"

"Yes, Mom."

Casey frowned. "But what does your father's debt have anything to do with you? Do you want to take over Dixon Group?"

Rebecca lowered her eyes, and her eyelashes trembled slightly. "Dad dedicated his life to that company. I don't want to give it up."

Casey fell silent for a while. Then she said in a low voice, "But the company is heavily indebted now. Besides, Yosef wants to kill you. Although the Lynch family is fairly well-off, I'm afraid it is not enough to protect you from them."

Casey paused for a moment and bit her lower lip. Then she added, "I have a solution. If you do as I say, Yosef won't dare to hurt you. Maybe it can also solve Dixon Group's crisis."

"What is it, Mom?"

Casey coughed lightly to clear her throat. "Do you know the Stevenson family? This family is one of the richest and most powerful in the country. Rosina's father wants her to marry into the Stevenson family. But she is in love with someone else. As you can see, she just ran away from home because of this. We have an appointment with the Stevenson family in two hours. I suggest you become Rosina's surrogate. Marry into the Stevenson family instead of her."

Rebecca's eyes widened in disbelief. "Mom, you want me to marry into the Stevenson family instead of Rosina? But I haven't divorced Yosef yet. Just now, I heard Rosina say that man is blind."

Casey's eyes turned cold. "Yosef is going to kill you. Of course, you must divorce him. Actually, you don't really have to worry. If you are willing to marry Martin Stevenson, the Stevenson family will help you get rid of Yosef. Yes, Martin is blind. But I don't think it's a big deal. After all, you already married a cripple like Yosef, right? It's just the same."

Rebecca felt so cold all over that she couldn't help trembling.

She thought what happened last night was already bad enough. Who would have thought that what was happening now was a million times worse?

"Martin is a Stevenson, and his family is much more powerful than the Swain family. Besides, you have no other choice. Your problems can only be solved if you marry into the Stevenson family."

Rebecca's eyes turned red. "But Mom, as you said, even if Martin is blind, he is still a Stevenson. Will he settle for someone like me?"
