Chapter 5 Five

And because Mikea wanted to be sure that I would accompany her where he was going, she arrived at the very time that I was closing my cafeteria.

"I told Paige and he agreed to stay outside until 10 pm," Mikea said after I locked the gate of the cafeteria. "So don't worry about your house, okay?"

I just held my breath. She already took care of everything from my house just to make sure that I won't get a chance to escape. "Yeah, sure." I put the key in my bag before approaching her. "Let's just make sure we don't go past ten o'clock at night, huh? I will pinch your cheeks if you don't go home when I ask."

She smiled and held my arm. "Don't worry. I know you can't go past that time, so I promise, we will go home right away."

"Good."

This one is easy to talk to so it is not bad that I give her a chance now. Besides, she also rarely has a day off and such opportunities are rare for her to do.

"Then, let's go to the night market and eat a lot!" she happily said and I just laughed.

Well, food is what we are going to get at that market, so there is nothing wrong if I enjoy our outing. I will just bring something when we go home.

"And so we can get there right away, I've called someone to pick us up." Mikea guided me to the side of the road near the parked tricycle. "I have also included Francis."

"Hello, Milan," Francis, our neighbor who likes Mikea, greeted me with a smile.

The two are childhood friends and I know that Francis is head over heels for Mikea. The only thing is, this friend of mine has no interest in the boy, that is why she has told me several times that she can only be friends with him.

And that did not hinder their friendship. Although, their family was the obstacle to the closeness between the two of them.

Francis only finished elementary school. He lost his parents early so he became the parent of his two sisters.

He sacrificed his studies to work and earn a living for his siblings.

While Mikea has finished college and has a good job, their respective families think that they should not be friends.

Mikea's family thinks the man is only approaching her because he wants money from her. That he just wants to ask for money to ease life.

Francis' siblings think that Mikea is using the man's feelings to make him do everything she wants.

So these occasions when they get together are rare.

"It is better if we have someone to pick us up. With that, we don't have to struggle to go to the market and go home later," Mikea said. "And I saw Francis at the terminal so I hired him. Plus, it's been a long time since I bonded with this best friend of mine."

I smiled. "Yeah." I slightly pushed her into the tricycle. "You are so talkative. I know that you just missed Francis and that is why you get out of your way to the terminal just to come with us."

Her eyes widened as she looked at me. "Milan!"

I patted her shoulder. "You don't have to deny that to me."

"Don't joke like that, Milan," Francis said with a laugh as we finally got on his tricycle. "Maybe later I will believe that."

"Yeah!" Mikea said. "He might believe that and assume more."

"It is up to you whether you believe it or not." I laughed a little when Mikea's eyes widened at me.

Well, the truth is that this girl also likes Francis but because of their family situation, she insists that she has no feelings for him so that the situation doesn't get worse.

For her, it would be better if they became friends because she also can't disobey his family. And Francis was still taking care of his sister, so she doesn't want to add to his worries.

"You like to joke, Milan." Francis just shook his head and continued to drive the tricycle.

And I didn't speak anymore.

Because I have no right to interfere in both of them. Though, I'm only here in case they need help.

"Please tell me why I came here with you?" I shook my head and said to Dash when we arrived in front of a night market.

"Because I told you that I will help you get in touch with Anox so that you can also become their dealer for their cars," he said with a smile. "And in exchange for that, you will accompany me on my food trip here."

I held my breath.

Yeah, that's the reason.

I quit all my jobs after he said that he could schedule me an appointment with the very owner of Anox, the car manufacturer of the most expensive cars in the world.

Even though the cars made by this company are famous, they are really expensive and only a few car dealer shops are allowed to sell them.

Most of the customers of my shop want to buy cars made by Anox, that is why I do everything to have contact with it.

The owner himself is the only person who can authorize me to sell the vehicle manufactured by their company.

But it is not easy to get an appointment here.

And for Dash's help to give me a chance to meet Mister Neon, the owner of Anox, I went with him here even though I didn't want to leave my office.

"Let's just enjoy the night, En," said Dash. "Well, it's been a long time since we last bonded, isn't it? Do not worry about your work yet because tomorrow I will make sure that Lancelot will face you."

I raised an eyebrow at him. "You call him by his first name. Are you that close?"

He smiled and nodded. "We are not just close..." He showed me his hand and his index finger wrapped around his middle finger. "That is how close we are."

"Why does it seem unbelievable?"

Lancelot Neon is naturally kind, that is what I often read in magazines where he is featured, but he is not the type of person to get close to others.

As far as I know, he preferred to be alone most of the time. So what Dash says is not credible.

"Just trust me, okay?" He put his arm around me. "For now, let's enjoy ourselves first."

I just held my breath. I don't have a choice anymore because we are here and I can't just go back to my office.

Well, maybe it's not bad to relax for a few hours.
