Chapter 10 He would deal with them

Sitting by the door and staring in a daze, she tried to pull back the covers around her body.

She saw her world, career and everything crumbling in front of her.

Had that happened?

She could not imagine the disappointment from her father, dead mother, sister, best friends and even the whole of Australia.

No! That must never happen!

Her hand holding her phone trembled as she stared with wide eyes.

The knocking on the door persisted, and tears poured down her eyes.

Suddenly, Wesley appeared behind her, wearing his shirt and pants. He grabbed her hand and yanked her off the floor. Without waiting for her to react, he pulled her towards the bathroom.

"Don't scream. Just come with me," he warned through gritted teeth. After all, he knew her to always scream before making an announcement on social media.

"I'm sure you don't want to be caught here."

Hearing that, she held her peace and meekly followed him, dragging the sheet that hardly covered her body. They got to the bathroom, and he pushed the door opened and then he gently pushed her in.

Holding the door, he warned her seriously, "Don't lock the door behind." After which, he slammed the door shut before locking it from outside.

Daisy stared at the locked door with red-rimmed eyes. Soon her tears came pouring down again. It was slowly sipping in that she had carelessly slept with another man that wasn't Edward.

Who would she blame?

How would she face him now?

The door was suddenly pushed open, and she was startled that her heart flew to her mouth.

Wesley stretched her bag and red dress to her.

"Take your bath and dress up. I'll get you out of here," he said indifferently as he stared at her tear shrieked face.

She took them from him and found her phone and underwear stuffed inside. Seeing that she shut her eyes tightly in shame and agony.

Daisy opened her eyes to see he was about to leave, so she stopped him. "When this is over, you have questions to answer," she stated coldly as she glared at him.

Wesley scoffed. "I guess you have penalties to bear." Then he eyed her and left, shutting the door. Just immediately, he opened it back and instructed her. "I won't be coming till ten minutes. You should have dressed up by then. Make it snappy while I meet with whoever is outside." Then he shut the door and locked it.

Daisy stared hard at the door finding the whole situation she was in overwhelming.

When she gets out, she would have to get contraceptives and go for tests afterwards. Ha! Unbelievable!

Tears stung her eyes again, and just when they would roll out, she held them back. Suddenly remembering his words and realizing she had limited time, she let go of the cover and stood under the shower.

She let the water pour down her without minding how she would dry her black waist-length hair afterwards. She was frustrated and badly needed to vent.

Even though she thought they had just one round of sex which she isn't totally sure about, it still felt like she was run over by a trailer. Her tears began pouring again, and she didn't bother to stop them. The shower was washing them off anyways.

Back in the room, after Wesley locked the bathroom door; he went for the main door, inwardly cursing at the persistent knocker.

When he got to the door, he did not just unlock it and pull it right away.

Who would come knocking persistently at this hour?

It wasn't even eight yet, and he wasn't expecting anyone. Besides, no one knew where he was at the moment except the party who set him up. The same would apply to Daisy too.

Being a very wise person, he subtly unlocked the door and opened it slightly before he pooped his head out. After which, he cast a sharp glare at the woman holding some cleaning tools.

"Get lost and go back to whoever sent you," he spat coldly, after which he rudely pulled off the wig and stared hard at the man in disguise before slamming the door shut.

The man by the door was so startled that he didn't immediately pick up his wig that had been thrown down. He adjusted the gold-rimmed glass on his face, purposefully for taking videos as he stared amusedly at the closed door, wondering how Wesley knew he was sent.

He picked up the wig lying on the floor and retreated before taking out his phone.

He would have to inform James Johnson of the new development.

Wesley Maxwell is really smart, and it seems it wouldn't be easy dealing with him.

Wesley went back to sit on the bed, seething in rage.

At that moment, his anger was almost at its peak. He would get to the root of everything and bring every person to book. He would destroy them one by one, whoever dared to do this!

His eyes were cold and mischievous.

There was one person on his mind that could try this in the whole of Australia, and he swore to go against that old man if it turned out to be him.

James Johnson, a man in his fifties and the prime minister of Australia, had been the business-leading emperor in Australia before Wesley inherited his family's business and overshadowed him. Wesley had driven him to a corner, taking all the glory, power and wealth in the business world. What humiliated him the more was that he is Australia's prime minister, and he hated that a mere citizen was bigger than him, a young one at that.

He hated his guts and had always tried to put him in trouble.

Wesley never thought he offended or wronged him in any way. He simply felt the man was not smart enough after all. He did not mind going against the prime number and shaking him terribly if that would humble him.

Besides, the business world is filled with cruelty and hostility. Only the fittest survive.

Wesley tried to remember what had happened last night. He had come to meet with a business partner who came from the US. The person had booked a private room in this restaurant, and he had wondered why he didn't pick a five-star hotel instead.

In the end, he ended up in this room in a dire state, terribly in need of a woman. He tried to remember in detail how things happened, but his memory seemed jumbled up.

At the thought that James had managed to buy his business partner over, his face turned grim.

With a deep frown, he picked up his phone and called Andrew, his right-hand man and most trusted assistant.

After a few rings, Andrew picked up the call.

"Check out every footage from four yesterday evening to this very moment. I need you to draw an analysis and report it to me today. Then investigate and check for every Tigera member in South Yarra."

Tigera is James Johnson's, underground armed man. On the surface, they are mere bodyguards, but in reality, they are specially trained armed forces from Rose Bay. He uses them to carry out every dirty work and put off his stains. Wesley was never bothered about his men; after all, his family had Croxxed X, one of the many things the public can never know.

The other end of the call was silent for a while before Andrew suddenly said, "You think James doesn't know you can identify Tigera? Remember what happened last month. I doubt he used Tigera last night."

Wesley thought hard about it and went solemn.

Just then, something struck him, and he raised his brows. "You already know?" he asked, his voice tinged with amusement. He remembered he had not mentioned anything that happened to him to Andrew.

'How the fuck did he know?'

"I arranged your schedule yesterday, remember? I heard nothing from you afterwards and came looking for you. I got to find out you were drugged. I just drove in, and I'm in the packing lounge. We should head back."

Wesley let out an inaudible sigh. Sometimes, it bothered him so much that Andrew was so effective.

After a brief purse, he said into the phone, "I still want you to check for Tigera."

Wesley already knew James didn't use Tigera on him this time, remembering the wigged man at the door earlier. He isn't Tigera.

"Make your investigation very obvious. I'll meet you in five minutes,' Wesley added.

"Got it," he replied before the call ended.

Wesley dropped his phone with his eyes narrowed.

If he investigated Tigera instead, wouldn't the culprit be on the loose, thinking we would never suspect him? He would lower his guard that way.

It was then he suddenly remembered the woman he had locked in the bathroom, and his eyes widened.

Anyways, he scoffed. 'She can remain there for all I care.'
