Chapter 10 Doll smeared with blood

~~~~~ Mila's Apartment ~~~~~ 8 am.

"And?" Charlotte asked again, she was sure Mila didn't just send him a doll and his watch. She knew Mila too well to believe she just sent him those things without anything else, that was too silent and bloodless for the heartless general she knew. "I also did something special for him, I won't just let the person who took away my first kiss rest in peace. It would not be fun." Mila smiled her eyes squinting dangerously. "Which is? Am tired of the suspense Mila just tell me already." Charlotte grumbled in annoyance, she was tired of the suspense already.

"I sent him a doll smeared with blood, his watch and a very entertaining letter, and also a stunning gift that would make him remember me always. And never mess with any other woman." Mila said in a murderous tone. She hates people who thought because they were rich they could behave anyhow they like and treat anyone the way they wanted, she hated them because of her mother. Yes! Her mother was a bitter topic in her tongue, she had a bad experience with her parents which she always try to forget and not remember but rich people triggered her bad memories.

Twenty years ago, after the bomb blast the kind man Mr . Drake her father had left her with him he kept her with him for five years. He had taken care of her in her father's stead for those years, despite the cries and troubles she had made him go through. After five years she left him to search for her mother but she was instead met with the surprise of her life, her beloved mother who her father was worried about till the point of his death she... She had gotten married to a rich man who was no longer interested in her.

Mila's mom had denied knowing her or even giving birth to her, her younger sister too was being treated like a princess that she was not. She ( Mila ) was kicked out of the house by the guards with an order from her mother, Drake had picked her up from the roadside and taken care of her that day she had vowed to become richer and stronger than her mom and her husband ( Stepfather ) could ever be. Drake her father's friend had made sure to take care of all her needs, she was extremely grateful because at least there was someone who cared about her after her father's death.

"Snap out of it already," Charlotte screamed at Mila snapping her fingers in front of Mila's face. "Yes! Yes! Am back to earth." Mila responded as she snapped out of her thoughts. "So you sent those to him, this is going to be so much fun. I bet he will be extremely surprised when he sees what you sent for him." Charlotte said, "my baby is so cool." She added with a smile on her face. "Oh! He gonna experience something much more than surprise." Mila said nodding her head in satisfaction.

~~~~~ Stars Hospital ~~~~~ 9 am.

Brett was busy going through the files of the next patient he had to operate on when his secretary walked into his office, he had left the mansion for his apartment in the countryside which was close to the hospital. He couldn't afford to stay in a mansion with his sister else she was going to make his life hell, either stealing his credit cards or pulling stupid pranks on him. She was known for her fierce personality and stupid pranks.

"Sir may I come in." Brett's Secretary asked knocking on the door. "You may come in," Brett replied putting down his pen on the desk, lifting his gaze he stared at the door. Luca Brett's secretary pushed the doors open and walked in with a package in her hands "Doctor, you got a package delivered for you." Luca said with a curt smile, "who is it from?" Brett asked raising his brows at her, he stared at the package suspiciously. "I don't know sir, it got delivered to you here," Luca said placing the box gently on the desk.

"You may go, thank you for bringing in my package," Brett remarked looking at his secretary and she nodded before walking out and shutting the door behind her. Brett stared at the package wondering who must have sent it to him, only his grandparents did something like this because they still believe in doing things the old-fashioned way. It was not his birthday yet so why? Was the something that came up urgently? He wondered before walking around to open the box. He hoped he didn't have to go to that place ever again.

He stood facing the box and slowly loosen the ribbons around the box, it was wrapped like a birthday present making it suspicious. "What the hell, I hope grandpa didn't do anything stupid this time," Brett remarked removing the cover of the box from it. He glanced inside the box and saw it was a watch, the watch looked the same as the ones he had. Brett picked up the watch and stared at it "this is my watch, it is the watch I gave to the lady yesterday. What is it doing here?" Brett wondered he dropped the watch on the table and glanced into the box to see what else was inside.

He picked out the doll smeared with blood with his hands pulling it out, when he saw the doll he shivered in fear and threw it away. "What the hell is this? Is she threatening to kill me? This is absurd." Brett muttered with grit teeth. He picked up the box and turned the content on the table to see, he grabbed the little box that fell out and opened it. Inside was an expensive watch just like his but with a higher parameter, he knew the watch because he was gifted it last year.

Staring at the watch for some seconds, he wasn't able to comprehend what was within. He sees a little paper peaking out and he picks it up unfolding it................
