Chapter 7 Mine

Jade felt strong warm hands wrap around her, giving her all the comforts and warmth in the world. Her mind refused to register that she was sobbing quietly in the arms of her enemy, all she cared about was the peace it brought to her and how her body seemed to relax immediately like it was familiar to who was hugging her.

"At this point, I really hate my job! I can hear everything but can't see anything!" The pilot cried out to himself. He wished he could just walk into the cabin and watch all the unfolding events so that immediately they land in Jap country, he would run off and break the news to others.

He sensed a familiar presence, so he tilted his head slightly to see who was coming.

Brett walked in and settled himself down on the assistant pilot's seat, he had a scowl on his face.

"Is anything the problem sir?"

The pilot inquired as he turned his gaze back to the controls.

"What do you mean?"

Though there was clear annoyance in Brett's voice, his face carried a different emotion. He looked back at the door he just walked in from and there was longing in his face. It seemed like he badly wanted to be around Elric and The vampire heiress.

"You don't look too bright sir? perhaps I could be of help?"

Brett's sharp gaze landed on the pilot and he eyed him with distaste. What nonsense help could he possibly render?

He ran his hand through his hair, combing it back with his fingers and a long sigh escaped from his mouth.

"There's no problem, the Alpha is just in a foul mood."

He threw his head backwards with his eyes closed and let out another deep long sigh.

Growing up as Elric's right hand man and closest companion allowed him to master everything that concerned Elric. He knew Elric as one who hardly showed his emotions. There were only three women in Elric's life that could trigger just small of his emotions and now this vampire just came from no where and was triggering and blowing off all the walls Elric built around him. But why? What was so different about her? Or maybe? No way!

Brett's eyes flipped open and he sat up straight abruptly as realization hit him.

"Pffff, Ha ha ha!"

He suddenly burst out laughing, startling the pilot who threw him questioning and worried looks.

"No freaking way!"

He placed his hand on his chest as he tried to stop laughing and even his breathing. Something dark flickered in his eyes and then it was gone so fast as if it had only been an illusion. He stared straight ahead, his expression completely blank as he got lost in his own thoughts.

"We are clear for landing."

The pilot announced, his full concentration on his job of landing the Jet.

Brett creased his brows and blinked several times as he tried to register what the pilot had said. His usual neutral expression replaced the blank one on his face and his eyes glimmered with excitement. He stood up from his seat and threw his hands high in a frantic, satisfying and bone cracking stretch.

"Yeah, that hit the spot!"

He dropped his hands down and walked quietly back to the cabin, almost like he was sneaking and did not want to disturb Elric and the vampire. Well it was not exactly because he did not want to disturb them, he just wanted to secretly watch and hopefully something interesting would unfold before him.

He stopped very close to the open door and was only able to slightly look inside before Elric's head snapped to his direction and his intense eyes spoke of impending doom and suppressed anger.

How could he forget? Of course Elric would notice his presence and he could easily sniff out his smell from even meters away.

'But why are you still angry though? I did nothing to you!'

Brett walked into the cabin, he avoided Elric's eyes and instead focused his attention on the vampire heiress that seemed to be comfortably enjoying Elric's body and was now sleeping soundly.

She looked so peaceful and relaxed like he was her very own personal cushion.

"Should I help you with that?"

He asked and walked towards them with his hands stretched out to show that he was willing to free him from his unwanted burden.

Brett stopped in his tracks and immediately dropped his hands because Elric's eyes turned dark with warning glimmering in it.

"I was only trying to help, alright I give up!"

Brett turned to leave then said as he was leaving. "By the way, the pilot would be landing soon. So uhh..you might want to wake the sleeping beauty."

Elric watched Brett leave and he slowly moved his gaze back to the sleeping vampire in his hands.

He lifted his hand towards her peaceful face when he suddenly stopped midway.

"F**k!"

He cursed out loud as he formed a fist and retracted his hand in anger. He was not angry at her but at himself, he didn't understand what was wrong with him.

She felt so cold in his hands that it almost scared him until his mind screamed 'She's a vampire, idiot!' Her hair that was already drying off but still a little bit wet, glued perfectly on her pale white face. Her lips parted slightly and she mumbled something "So warm," then snuggled up closer to him.

Elric shut his eyes as her words 'I hate you jerk!' kept ringing in his head. Why did this hurt him so much? His heart suddenly felt heavy. It had hurt him even more when he had seen the tears rolling out of her eyes, the pain in her eyes had pieced his heart like an arrow.

He stared at her and it seemed like he could do that forever, like he could never get his fill of Just staring at her. His eyes traveled from her full small pink lips down to her exposed neck and he felt his whole body shudder.

His eyes turned bright yellow and his inner wolf fought for complete control. It wanted to be let loose and mark it's own.

"No, no, no, stay calm!"

He muttered to himself as he closed his eyes and tried to be in complete control and suppress the sudden longing his inner wolf was feeling. He felt hungry and it definitely wasn't for food, he was hungry for her.

His eyes snapped open and the yellow in his eyes deepened and got darker. He suddenly growled out.

"Mine!"
