Chapter 9 Chills down the spine

"The time for jokes are over Regis" Chrollo kept a stern face as he looked towards the direction of Regis. Chrollo had this level of seriousness in him when he's down to business and Regis kept quiet immediately all he could say was it's an honour to hear my name from the mouth of the great Prince of Cistra"

"But I have said your name before more than twenty times and still no little atom of respect from a peasant like you" Luchigan fumed.

"It's not my fault that I don't see you as loyalty Luchi, try to act like one instead of you to steal the glory of the game I caught that other time" Regis replied.

Immediately after Regis just said this, Luchigan snapped and he pulled out his sword and within a split second he melted the prison steel bar and he pinned Regis by his neck to the wall with his left hand and he was about striking him with his sword and Chrollo had to butt in one more time and he held the hand of Luchigan before the sword could connect with the head of Regis.

"Stop this immediately Luchigan" Chrollo yelled at him.

" I won't tolerate this insolence and insult from a peasant " Luchigan replied Chrollo as he was about forcing his hand away from the grip of Chrollo.

" You are not the one that's talking now, control your crest and don't let it control you" Chrollo said to Luchigan and he calmed down immediately and he loosened his grip on the neck of Regis as he let him go.

Regis fell to the floor as he was grasping for air and he was sweating profusely due to the heat that Luchigan's armor was emitting. Luchigan's armor was built specifically with some very strong magic from the four kingdoms of Ventra to surpress the amount of heat energy his body releases whenever he got angry.

"Yeah that's it Luchigan, control the crest and don't let it control you" Chrollo patted the shoulder of his you younger brother.

" And you little peasant, it's high time you keep shut" Chrollo told Regis.

"The next time you ulter a negative word about Luchigan again, I'll have your head fed to wild vultures of the wilderness " Regis nodded his head not out of fear of the threat Chrollo just made but out of the fear of the power of Luchigan that he just witnessed now and it was just a glimpse of what Luchigan can do.

Luchigan and Chrollo stood outside the prison cell as Regis sat on the floor in confusion of what just happened now.

"In a week time you'll be facing the fire cyclops and if you should lose the battle then your village will be taken in by the kingdom of Cistra as slaves. That's a direct order from the King who will be present the day you will be facing the fire cyclops, so prepare yourself. Your big mouth got you into this situation and I wish that big mouth will get you out of it too or else your people will be in charge of cleaning the fire cyclops cage." Chrollo broke the news in a very cold way to Regis.

" This is not fair Prince Chrollo, why involve my village in all of this." A scared but worrying Regis asked Chrollo.

" Who are you to question the orders of the Great King of Cistra?" Chrollo asked as he approached the cell once more.

" I am sorry Prince Chrollo but I am just worried about my people and it is my sole objective to protect them" Regis cried out to Chrollo.

" If you want to protect your people then you'll need to defeat the fire cyclops in a week time and don't even think of running because I'II find you even before you leave the Kingdom and I'll have your head on a stick placed in front of your village"

"If that is the decision of the great King of Cistra then so be it, I am just a peasant and I can't question the question of a king." Regis said.

"You are finally learning some respect and loyalty, that would have not put you in this mess if you started like this earlier" Chrollo said to Regis as he was walking out of the prison with Luchigan.

"Don't you feel that was too harsh on him?" Luchigan asked Chrollo as they were setting the saddle on the back of their horses.

"Hahahaha, I thought you were the one that wanted to impale his skull with a sword some minutes ago. Now why do you feel this pity for him Luchi?" Chrollo laughed.

They both got on their horses and they rode back towards the heart of the kingdom to a tavern to get some premium beer and some boar meat.

"Father have warned us not to visit the local taverns around because we have got all we need in the palace Chrollo" Luchigan told Chrollo who was already downing a full cup of beer.

"Father is not here, so let's use this opportunity well don't you think?"

"Yeah that's true" Luchigan replied as he took a huge cup of beer and downed it. They had some few more cups of beer and some boar meet before they got back on their horses and rode back to the palace to get some rest because it was getting late already. Luchigan was really worried because he remembered what happened today and how he almost killed Regis just because of a little joke Regis made about him. He knew that if he couldn't control his possessive crest before the knighthood ceremony then he wouldn't be able to level up to a rank A. It was night time and he just remembered that he agreed with Marie to meet this night in their secret spot. Luchigan snuck out of the house as usual to go see his lover Marie who he needed most at this time to comfort him after all that have happened today

"Hello beautiful" Luchigan said as he was standing holding a rose flower behind Marie who seemed to have been waiting for Luchigan for a while.

" This flower won't win me over because you are about ten minutes late" as she ran to hug her lover Luchigan.
