Everything returned to normal after Thomas acknowledged that he already moved on from the death of his father, Mr. Berkeley was gone but not forgotten.
Mrs. Berkely went back to tour the whole world, to visit the places she was yet to see, take good pictures and send them to her children. Pearl on the other hand decided to go back to her business and busy schedule.
The workers who came to stay at the mansion for a short period went back after their services were rendered, a few staying behind to help around with the work, Makayla couldn't do it all.
Thomas couldn't exactly pinpoint it, but there was always something about Makayla that intrigued him, he wanted to see her different reactions, or her hobbies and favorite tv shows, or her favorite food. Somehow, just watching her brought him happiness, he wanted to be the reason behind her smile he wanted to pamper her, he just needed to show her that he needed her.
Lucas tried to fight it for so long, but he knew he was hooked when he couldn't get her out of his head, because of this, he barely or didn't even sleep around with random ladies anymore, as if respecting her.
He was going to have her, and he didn't care what anybody thought about it, he knew he had to start making his move soon because She had already started talking to Pearl about leaving.
"I think we might have to find a new person to clean the mansion!", Pearl said as she and Lucas sat on the balcony talking about random things and watching the sunset. Pearl motioned towards Makayla who was going and coming, " why isn't she doing her job right!", Thomas asked confused.
"She is doing her job right, I wish she didn't even want to go, but she says she wants to go to school so she can get a better job!", Pearl said watching the myriad of emotions on her brother's face.
" I don't see any reason why she can't go to school and still be here!", Thomas said thinking it was the best reason to get her to stay. "And why does her departure suddenly concern you?", Pearl asked smiling, already knowing the answer to her question.
"I've seen the way you look at her, hell, you barely even talk to other ladies anymore!", Pearl continued, " is it that obvious that I'm hooked?!", Thomas asked in a bored tone.
"It's obvious bro, I'm happy for you, really!", Pearl said grateful to Makayla who had suddenly made her brother turn a new leaf. " You better start making your move, she's already making her own plans", Pearl continued in an attempt to make her brother move faster.
Makayla was shocked she didn't see any redhead or brunette or any type of woman in the mansion or around the boss. She started giving up hope cause to her it meant that the boss was already seeing someone, or worse, he was in a serious relationship.
The silly thoughts spiraled in her head, Makayla finally coming to a conclusion, she was going to start making plans to leave. 'It would be the best thing to do, these feelings are just a phase, it'll pass!', Makayla chanted in her head trying to calm herself from the overwhelming emotions she was feeling.
Makayla started thinking about avoiding him at all cost, what she thought would be a temporary solution for her feelings which she tried so hard to repress.
Thomas was no fool, he started noticing that he rarely saw Makayla, which was unusual. He was even sure she was avoiding him after several weeks without seeing her.
She had already cooked dinner and served it before he even saw her, his bed was already made after he came out of the shower, his laundry was done mysteriously, and the dirt on his office was already cleaned when he wasn't even around.
He started to think about the worst in the situation, 'what if she left without even telling me! I'm her boss, shouldn't she inform me about these things!', Thomas brainstormed feeling really confused.
He calmed down when he asked Craig to check if she still worked in the mansion. The following weeks Thomas spent without seeing Makayla as much, he thought of some things, one of which included Makayla, he felt really serious about her. He was going to pursue her, but he was still very unsure how he was going to convince her to stay.
The following morning, Lucas jogged to the gym to carry out his daily exercises, he was however shocked to see Makayla, a part of him was happy he finally got to see her after several days, and a part of him was furious because he was aware she was intentionally avoiding him.
Makayla who thought it was the best time to clean the gym before the boss used it was in her own world, singing and dancing to her favorite tune
using her earpiece. She was stunned, shocked, and caught unawares seeing the boss leaning against the door frame watching her intently when she turned.
She felt really conscious of his stare, from what she could deduce she was sure he didn't just get there. She was momentarily distracted seeing the boss in his gym attire flexing his bulging muscles and the beautiful hand veins carved intricately on his arm.
Lost in her thoughts, Makayla was brought out of her reverie when Lucas's chuckle reverberated in the gym room. "Good morning boss?", Makayla said feeling guilty that she had been caught drooling at how built the boss looked.
" Good morning Makayla!", Thomas replied in his deep voice waking into the room and getting on one of the machines. "I haven't seen you recently Makayla, where have you been!?", Thomas asked trying to have a conversation with her.
What he didn't know was that Makayla didn't get the memo, she was rather terrified that Thomas had caught on to her plan, " I've been around sir!", "around...", Thomas drawled going to another machine, Makayla drooling again at the sight because sweat was already trickling Thomas's body.
" But I barely see you", Thomas said looking her directly in the eyes, Makayla felt a mix of emotions, on one hand, she was terrified, and on the other hand she felt grateful that she saw Thomas up close, he was even more handsome. He looked like he came out of a painting, Makayla was sure that if she was unaware before, it was now confirmed that she was hooked, now, she was sure she was attracted to him.
