Chapter 3 New school buddy

Everywhere began to spin, including the light bulbs, even the so called biology teacher wasn't helping matters. I couldn't fulfill my supposed eight hours of comfy sleep all because I was busy liking my best friend's videos and pics... Okay, and some celebrities as well... Don't judge me, my phone has been my pal since the day I lost my Dad after my parent's divorce and my Mum is always attending one Court case or the other, Puff, it seems she will be staying at home for this week .. don't care though...

"So what happens when the water in the jar reduces...."

The teacher's voice echoed in my head as I placed my head on my desk.

"Miss Samantha.... Samantha"

I raised my head after several tapping from the teacher.

"Are you pregnant or something?" She asked and some bunches of nonentity burst into laughter.

"Ma'am" I called and rose to my feet to give her the talk of my mind. "I think this question should be directed to you, I mean take a look at your protruding stomach" I pouted out in a mocking tone while pointing at her stomach and wow I got the whole class as everyone started laughing.

"Nice one Miss Samantha, you've earned yourself two straight weeks of detention!" She announced.

I couldn't help but chuckle at her silly jokes. "Ms. Vivian or whatever your name is, let me assume you have forgotten the school rules and try to remind you in full details. Rule 12 states that no student should be sent to the detention room unless that kid steals, assault girls , comes extremely late to school, fights, leave the school premises before the last bell rings or without permission from a higher authority and lastly, disturb the ongoing class"

"You committed the sixth crime and now...

"I didn't disturb your class, I wasn't sleeping, I was only meditating and by the way your class is boring" I quickly interrupt her and made sure to stretch the word 'boring' very well.

"Maybe visiting principal Gwen will make your silly attitude break a feather" she threatened and pointed at the door. "Pack your things and go visit the principal, right now!" She ordered and I grab my things and left the class, who wants to be in her humdrum classroom, anyway?. I got to principal Gwen's office and met her discussing with a girl.

"Wait I recognize this face!" I murmured to myself and wave at the girl. "Hello"

"Oh, hi Samantha" The girl waved back. "My mum didn't tell me you go to this school" She whispered some words to Ms Gwen and walked up to me. "Hey babe" She said and hugged me.

"What's up. Um what your name again?" I asked.

She giggled and place her hands on my shoulders. "Winter" she replied. "I can't believe you didn't remember my name"

"I did"

Okay I lied.

I moved closer to her and whisper into her ear. "Teacher's trouble"

"Wow!. It seems that you already have a new student buddy, Miss Walter" Principal Gwen's voice rang as Winter walked back to Ms Gwen's desk and took the books in Ms Gwen's hand. "Good luck with your studies in oak Academy, Miss Patrick" She added and smiled at Winter.

"Miss Stetson" She turned her gaze and fixed it on me. "Do you mind taking our darling new student round our beautiful school?" She asked as she lower her glasses.

"Ma'am I am a little bit preoccupied, maybe you could assign someone else" I replied.

"Or maybe you would like to tell me what brings you to my office at this ungodly hour?"

"It's two pm in the afternoon, I don't think it's an ungodly hour" I paused as she gave me a questioning look.

"How about I take Miss Walter round Oak High... nice idea" I blurted out and dragged Winter out of the office.

"Wow Oak high is so huge and beautiful, it's even bigger than my formal school,.oh my God, look at the decorations on the wall, so amazing. Do you know I was against the idea of coming to this school but after seeing all these I decided to move along with the train" She exclaimed as we walk down the hall .

"Wow...."

"I heard that the son of the Governor of Gujrat Schools here?"

"You heard right dear" I sighed. "But no one has ever seen him, you know he only sings in audios"

"I love his songs, his songs are actually the only Indian songs I listen to" She shrieked in happiness. "So, are you a BTS fan?" She continued.

Arrrgh does this girl know how to shut up !

"Yeah, my best friend is one of them" I replied trying all my best not to show my discomfort.

"Wow!" She exclaimed. "So which of them is your best friend?, Jimin?, Jung kook?, J hope?. J hope is my future husband, I am sure of it. what about you?"

"None of what you just mentioned. My Travis is much way cooler than those guys" I blurted out and quickly regretted it.

"Really, y.. you think so?"

I turned back and my eyes met with Travis'. Was he following us all these while. I took my gaze away and started counting the invisible lines on the floor.

"Say something Sam, else he will think you are a weirdo" I couldn't help but cry within.

"Sam, are you okay?" He asked and raised my chin.

"Yes Travis, I am perfectly fine" I quickly replied. "I was telling this new kid about Travis Barker and his achievements, nothing about you"

"Then why are your legs fidgeting?" He threw another question at me with his eyes glued to my shaky legs.

Oh Geez !

"Um..."

The bell rang and I sighed in relief. "The bell just rang, we should get back to class" I turned to leave but he held me back.

"Sam, can we meet after school, maybe at Sally's?" He requested.

"Um, like a date?" I asked.

"Yeah... More like a study date" He replied

"I won't be attending maths class today, I need to be somewhere else right now"

I held my arms akimbo.

"I swear, I took permission this time" He smiled and pat my head. "You know a lot about equations, so you wouldn't mind spending part of your free time after school lecturing me right?" He requested and I nod my head to show my agreement.

"I won't mind, enjoy your day" I replied.

"How about good luck?"

"Okay Travis, good luck" I responded and he walked off.

"What the hell was that?!. Who is that guy and why are you blushing?" Winter teased me.

"My best friend" I replied.

" Or your hubby honey heartthrob" She winked at me and I chased her down the hall.
