Chapter 5 The boss' daughter

Anna was never so open to anyone else before since she lost her mother. She was a little distant from anyone. She was only seen being alone and didn't think of making friends. But she felt so drawn to Matt from the very first day she saw him and she kept wondering why. She hasn't been able to talk about herself to Matt but she could say she knew a lot about Matt because he never stopped talking about himself even without her asking the question. Smart, humble and innocent which made her even closer to him. While Matt saw her as wild and a little too playful for a girl.

One afternoon after lunch they were both seated in the sitting room as usual.

"So tell me, do you have any brother, honestly you are kind of wild?" Matt said,

"Well no, I don't have any brother, so?" She smiled.

"Hmm," he exhaled. "That's so surprising though but anyways, you have known so much about me, but honestly I haven't known much about you, so if you don't mind I would like to know about you," Matt said, and just then they heard the sound of a car driving into the compound.

Matt quickly stood up to check who it was and he saw Mr. Walter getting down from the car. He knew he couldn't stay there again.

"Oh my, it's Mr. Walter, the boss is finally back," Matt mumbled, as he quickly stood up on his feet and walked hurriedly out of the sitting room to meet his boss. But he turned around expecting to see Anna because she should also have welcomed him but she was nowhere to be found. He turned back to his boss and helped him take his luggage out of the car and started walking behind him as he walked in.

Immediately Anna saw her father's car earlier she knew immediately she had to change to something more suitable to welcome her father because he wouldn't be pleased to see her wear something like what she was wearing then. She thought of a way she could excuse herself from Matt to go and change into something more suitable but smiled when she saw him standing up to go out and help her father take in his luggage. So she just uses the opportunity to walk away. She got into her room and shut the door behind her and rested her back on the door. She tried to calm her racing heart for a while before finally walking over to her closet. She picked out a pair of good jean trousers which were very expensive and of good quality and also a t-shirt and quickly started changing into them. She dropped the clothes she was wearing before on her bed and rushed out of her room.

Matt was carrying Mr. Walter's luggage while he walked with him. "I should have gotten those things if not for the bags I'm carrying with me, now I have to go out again to get them." Mr. Walter complained as they walked on.

Matt opened the door to the main lounge and a lady with very expensive clothes rushed and hugged Mr. Walter. "Welcome dad." She said, and Matt realized whose voice was that immediately.

"I guess you have met my daughter already." Mr. Walter said,

Matt stared at her with a raise of brows. He just nodded his head as a response to his boss as he continued staring at Anna who had changed. He has come to like this lady in front of him that Mr. Walker just introduced as his daughter. After spending those few days with her, he would lie he has been so addicted and attracted to her beyond compare, and right now he was super confused about what to call her right now. Was he supposed to call her by her name which he was always doing before now or call her ma'am because she was his boss's daughter and he knows for sure that his boss would tolerate any form of disrespect towards his daughter?

Anna was now acting as her usual self with her usual smile plastered on her face as she stretched her hand to him for a handshake, while her other hand was in her back pocket just like she was when they first met.

"Hi, my name is Anna Walter." She smiled.

Matt, who was still surprised at what was happening, didn't know what to do. He couldn't believe his eyes now he has realized why she has refused to talk about herself while they were always together while he was busy talking and talking about himself. He wished he had insisted on knowing who she was before now. He was now in shock and didn't know what to do.

He was sad and also hurt at the same time but he knew Mr. Walter was watching them and he wouldn't take it lightly if he dared to ignore her hand which was stretched out to him. He sighed heavily before taking her hand and faking a smile too.

Mr. Walter held his daughter by the shoulder as they both started walking away while Matt just walked behind them with the luggage.

Mr. Walter and Anna started having a father and daughter chat as they continued walking while Matt followed behind them. He wondered what he would be doing from now onwards because he has almost gotten used to the fact that Anna was always with him. All this while he thought she was just a mere worker in the house just like him but now he has known who she truly was. She was no other person but the daughter of the mean man he was working for, and that simply means he has to address her as ma'am and nothing more or less. But he still wondered how someone like Mr. Walter could give birth to someone like Anna. Just when he decided to shut out the thought. Another question danced on his mind.

" Why did she not even for once mention about her father, little wonder she always avoided talks concerning the boss."
