Chapter 2 His Generosity

Eva's POV

Present Time,

I am Eva Marie Feathers; most people call me Eva, but others prefer to call me Marie. I am in class, staring at the blackboard while contemplating Mr. Jacob Anderson from last night.

I remembered what happened a month ago,

Armando had no choice but to hand me to Jacob Anderson. Armando owes a large debt, so I'm fortunate that Jacob treats me like a stranger inside his manor house. I have been traumatized by guys who want to touch or gaze at me because I always assume they have malicious intentions.

"Are you ready to go?" Anna asked me, and she is the only friend I have here. I'm still in college, and Jacob enrolled me in this school without informing me, so here I am. I am really astonished. I am unaware of this man's motives for me, but I do know that my stepfather used me to pay off his enormous debt to Jacob.

When I saw Jacob's men waiting for me at the entrance, I groaned and glanced at Anna with a worried expression, saying, "I'm sorry, but I have to leave..."

"Okay, just text me...Can I get your phone number?"

I shrugged my shoulder and said softly, "No, I don't have a phone."

"Oh..." When one of the guards grabbed my arm and forced me into the Van, Anna was stunned and waved goodbye at me.

"Mister Anderson expects your presence at any moment; thus, you should not be late." The guard with a beard instructed the driver to speed the tinted van.

"Oh my God, life sucks!" I stated while grumbling in a foul mood.

When we got to the mansion, I was constantly fiddling with my hair because I was so frightened, I was so late, and I knew that Jacob was notoriously aggressive towards those who were consistently late.

"Eva!" his husky and booming voice boomed around the place. I came to a stop and glanced in his direction.

"Y-Yes?"

He inhaled deeply and exhaled loudly, took a step closer, and his piercing eyes attempted to make me feel uneasy. I step backward because I am aware that he can hurt me at any moment.

When he was about to touch me, I flinched and pleaded, "Please don't hurt me!"

He chuckles softly and says, "I won't hurt you; I'm only curious about your day at school."

"Huh?" I blink slowly and parted my lips while staring at his dark expression turns into a soft one.

"Uhm, The school was fine...T-thank you!"

He folded his hands together and studied me for a minute before saying, "I'm going to get you a phone later so that I can keep up with your school day."

"Why are you doing this to me? You... You do not know me, yet you are so kind to me..."

"Are you questioning my generosity to you?" he said in a solemn manner.

"No, Sir..." I shake my head and lower my eyes. I felt so little right now, and I got this nervous feeling when he stared at me with his cold eyes.

"Good."
