Chapter 3 Intimidating

It's been a month already but Amelia was still suffering from the loss of her Grandmother. She feels empty and doesn't like to continue living. But every time she thinks of commiting suicide, her Grandmother's words echoed inside her mind that makes her stopped. It's been a month already, and she tried moving on but she just can't. Her heart was so broken that she just wanted to die.

Amelia stood up from sitting for how many hours just staring at the atmosphere. Her heart was heavy and she just wanted to lay all day long, but she knew to herself that she needed to move on and live for the sake of her Grandmother's last will. Amelia began packing her things and clothes. Luckily, all her clothes weren't burned out. Only half of their house was burned, and her Grandmother and her room was the only thing left.

After she finished packing her things up, she went to her Grandmother's room to get the letter she wrote before leaving her alone in this world. Amelia sat down on the bed and caressed her Grandmother's letter. She already read it for who knows how many times, but she still couldn't get tired of reading it.

'I already knew that this time would come. I'm so sorry for leaving you alone in this world. But instead of being sad and following me, I wanted you to live like a normal person. I wanted you to leave this place and went to the place I once called my home. You'll be safe there. Just show them the emblem and they will know. Take care my dear Amelia, Grandma Allison loves you so much.'

Even though she doesn't like what her Grandmother wrote, she still doesn't have a choice. She needed to leave and live like a normal person. That's why she prepared everything and went to the place her Grandmother had told her.

A place where humans and werewolves coexist. It's a peaceful country, not because the powerful Alpha King was there, but because of how that place was being heavily guarded. It's also a place full of waterfalls and other jaw dropping scenarios, according to the book she had read. But instead of feeling excited, she felt empty.

Amelia sighed while staring outside the window of the train. It's been an hour already but they still weren't in that place. She doesn't know how long it would take, not that she has the guts to ask someone. Honestly, she was just lucky. It's her first time buying a ticket in the train station, but luckily, no one caught her. She was wearing a cloak to hide her face, and even if she weren't wearing one, people will still not be able to know if she's a witch or not.

The gold crescent moon on her forehead was gone, she put a spell in it. At first, she didn't know how to use her power but as she looked around her Grandmother's room, she found a book full of spells and other things. Amelia leaned her back comfortably and closed her eyes. It's better if she'll just sleep for now and wake up if she's already in that place.

Amelia woke up from a loud noise coming from somewhere. She slowly opened her eyes and looked around. Her eyes widened when she realized that she already arrived. She immediately looked for her things and went outside the train. Her breathing hitched when she saw a lot of people outside the train waiting for the train to be empty. She gulped before pulling her hood down.

Amelia immediately leaves the train station and begins asking where the alpha king's residence is. Fortunately for her, the people living here are not like those people back in their place. She smiled at the old woman who answered her and immediately walked towards the direction the old woman had pointed. After how many minutes of walking, she finally arrived at the exact place.

Amelia let out a deep breath while holding her chest. Her heart was beating so loudly and she could feel her whole body, especially her face dripping from sweat. Amelia let out a heavy sigh before wiping those sweats away. When she finally regained her lost energy, she went towards the massive gate that was guarded by two men who had a big physique. Amelia couldn't help but gulp. Those two men look like they're not easy to deal with. Especially because of the weapon they are holding. It feels like if she annoyed the hell out of them, she'll be dead in a second.

But she's not afraid. Amelia shrugged those thoughts away and began walking to where those guards were. Both of the guards froze and looked at her direction simultaneously. Amelia's throat constricted and forced herself to not get affected by their odd stares. Amelia stopped in front of them.

"Is this the alpha king's residence?" she asked in a blank tone. The two guards looked at each other and looked at her again.

"Yes, this place isn't something you can just wander off," the man on the left side who seems the strongest said in a hard tone. Amelia sighed.

"I know, I have a purpose why I'm here," after Amelia said those words, she showed the emblem her Grandmother had given her. The two men flinched and became speechless. They were just staring blankly at the emblem. Minutes later, the man whom she talked earlier cleared his throat.

"We're sorry for not recognizing Miss Allison's granddaughter. You may enter now." Amelia couldn't help but sighed in relief when the man's tone had changed. When she's finally inside, she couldn't help but gasp in awe when a massive mansion more like a castle welcomed her gaze. It's exterior design is jaw dropping.

"Let me accompany you to where the lord is." Amelia stopped from admiring the majestic place and swallowed. She nodded her head and followed the man. While she was on her way towards the huge castle, the people who were working there stopped and looked at her. Amelia couldn't help but feel uneasy. She immediately pulled her hood down and avoided their gazes.

After how many minutes of walking, they finally arrived outside the alpha king's office. Amelia couldn't help but to use her power secretly so she can walk a bit faster. The man opened the large door and a breathtaking room welcomed her. Amelia's heart pounded heavily when her eyes met cold and emotionless golden eyes. Shivers conquered her whole body when the man's golden orbs glistened. Her grip on her cloak tightened.

The man, who was sitting like an emperor in front of her, was staring at her as if he knew her secret. Amelia began to swallow when her throat went dry. Her whole body won't stop trembling and she couldn't help but feel intimidated by this man's presence. It was overwhelming and she just wanted to back out. But she knows, just looking at the man's eyes, the moment she backs out, she'll be dead.
