Ash was kept there for the purpose to disable him to the point where he cannot even think of taking revenge on the current emperor for what he did to his parents.
"If this is real, I mean not real... but real... as in the novel and real... uggghhh!!!! Whatever! If it is what happening what I'm thinking right now... then I have to save Ash out of that place and coax him before things go down the hill. As per the novel's plot, he has to kill Lynn in front of his subjects. Even though Ash himself never wanted to impose revenge on her for what her father did to his parents and the people as Lynn was still a child at that time and is also as innocent as him but his subjects wanted him to kill Lynn for the lives they lost because of Emperor Auth's betrayal and strongly stood with their opinion that only if he kills her they will accept him as their king and Ash himself was quite disgusted by the reason Lynn brought him out of the prison as one of her 'plaything'. So, he accepted to kill her in a public execution stage to unite the kingdoms and to protect people from these kinds of rulers....." She bent down to take the original Lynn's black sword, the Black Dragon and stared at the sword in her hand with a very complicated emotion. This was the sword Ash used to kill Lynn in the public execution. Yes! Ash killed the original Lynn with her own sword and to her surprise, Jane only can calm down in 'this world' with this sword in her hand which probably is going to end her life too. Sighing very heavily, she tied the sword to her waist, got ready and rushed out of the room while still thinking these over and over again. Steve who was resting on the pillar near the door almost fell forward when she pushed the door with a bang "Let's Go!" she ordered. Steve not knowing where still followed her like a little puppy that found its owner and Lynn, on the other hand, is now so determined to save Ash and get to his good side.
'Am I missing something? Again... when did Lynn fall down the hill? The horse... I remember, the third prince of the Southern Kingdom was disgusted by the fact that he was about to marry the empress whose pass-time is to sleep with anyone who looks good even if that is an animal as the rumours said. Also, he already had a lover, so he planned to kill Lynn with a foreign-bred horse that was too difficult to train and very aggressive. He perfectly planned to take over the kingdom after her death without even marrying her as he is her legal fiancé'. "That Motherf*k*r" Lynn cursed in a high pitch which made Steve skip a step and look at her shocked as if what he is seeing is not Empress Lynn but instead a ghost. When he was about to fall skipping his step, Lynn held his arm immediately stopping him from falling. Looking at his expression, she realized that Lynn though acts rashly which made everyone misunderstand her, was still quite a literate woman who was very modest, humble, and polite. She was especially someone who never swore in her life. As for Jane, the words like 'modest' and 'humble' cannot be put in the same sentence together with her name and she is well aware of it. Politeness is something Jane never had in her gene and Rey knows the best of it for him cleaning every mess she created out of her 'politeness' after every meeting. Lynn settled her expression quickly, released his arm and said "Take me to the Cold Prison. I don't remember the way." Steve looked at her with a very complicated expression for her to do so many unusual things within a very short period of time and nodded his head.
Around 15 minutes of walk, they reached the ever-so-famous Cold Prison. Lynn was quite interested to look at this place, as the author of this novel "The Northern Palace", White wind, wrote quite in detail about how Ash never went into madness and still kept himself sane in such a place regardless of the torture he went through, not seeing the sunlight since the age of 12 when he was taken to this place right after his parent's death and kept hidden from the world to avoid any unnecessary protestors. His life was entirely flipped around and he fell into the darkness within a night when the day before he was still happily planning for a lake visit with his only childhood friend Liam Hood and his younger sister Christa Hood, whose dream is to serve this kind prince in the future.
"Chris is sick... she can't walk long distances...Liam didn't want to bring her along so she won't be a bother to me... I was so stubborn... hope she is safe..." this murmur was very low in a voice that even the mosquito's hum was higher than this. A young man whose hands were tied at a height where he cannot move them the way he wishes was bleeding all over. He was kneeling on the cold floor with his hair flowing longer than his upper body.
"How long does it take for us to reach the final cell?" Lynn kept asking questions despite knowing Steve can't talk and it's too dark to see even if he signs. Steve figured out who she is this eager to see but he couldn't wrap around his head for what because he definitely knows that those rumours are not true about her chasing anyone who looks good. 'Royalties are unpredictable' he came to a conclusion by himself, stopped midway and signalled Lynn to stop. He then took the fire stick that was hung on the corner, lit it, and showed her where they are. Lynn was eager up to now to see the famous protagonist of the novel 'The Northern kingdom" whose appearance got more fanarts than she has ever seen for any other novel's protagonist and in every one of them he looked more handsome than the previous one, even in the one where he was tied up in the cold prison, exactly what she was seeing right now.
At this moment, seeing him in real, the only thing she could think was 'How do I escape from Ash?'.
