None of them dared to talk in that room anymore and the thing in her hand helped Jane greatly to calm down. After soothing her mind, she saw what she was holding on to. It was a black scabbard with a long and heavy sword in it which had a dragon running around in golden thread with a black handle that had very thin two gold lines on the end. She closed her palm, holding the sword tightly in it. With so much confusion in her eyes, she pointed at the young man in the black dress and a mask that covered half of his face "You, come here. I have things to ask you." and she said to herself 'you are the only one I remember in here. Since you looked worried in that dream, I can only ask you!'. He hesitated for a moment before moving to the front and knelt in front of her. "Huh? What are you doing!" Jane panicked "Stand up! I didn't tell you to kneel!" she blinked like her eyelids were rather butterfly wings and tried to stop him. Looking at her reaction, someone again spoke from her back "Your Majesty, how can a lowly subject stand in front of you. Please don't make it difficult for him! Give him your command and he will do it for you." Jane ignored every part of what he just said and replied with "your.. What?"
"........"
".........."
"........."
"............. I am a... What?"
Everyone in the room who was silent up till now suddenly gasped and looked at each other in shock. "Might be the impact of falling from that height. Your Majesty, do you remember who I am?" an old man holding a cane in his hand walked slowly inside the room pushing the doors aside, sat on the table next to the bed and held her hand to check her pulse. Lynn (Jane), after all being one of the best detectives in her previous world, was very smart to grasp the situation. Finding it extremely weird, she decided to play along to figure out what was happening. "Might be? I don't remember anything except...." She turned to look at the man who is currently kneeling in front of her bed. For some reason, she didn't want to mention remembering the man in black and continued "Nothing.... I don't remember anything at all. What was my name again? What happened to me?" she asked calmly.
The old man, seemingly the oldest royal physician who has been personally seeing Lynn since birth sat there silently looking at her face calmy "Your Majesty, Your name is Lynn, Sapphire Dynasty's current Empress. You fell from the mountain while riding the horse that was gifted to you by your fiancé 3rd prince of the Southern kingdom, Prince Louis Levine, at a very high speed. We thought we will never be able to find you in that depth. God's grace you were saved from that place with very less injury and miraculously in good health. Considering the height you fell from, memory loss is understandable. Kindly rest assured. I will prescribe some medicines to calm your mind for now and later will check your health and proceed with the treatment. Regarding the details about yourself, I think young general Steve will personally help you with that. After all, he is your only trusted bodyguard in this palace." The old man stressed the last part of his speech and slowly walked out of the room holding the cane but before he left the room, he stopped and looked at her shocked expression for a moment very briefly.
Lynn repeated the name 'Lynn' in her mind a hundred times before the thunder stuck in her thoughts. She felt like she is sitting on an electric chair for execution instead of a feather-cushioned dragon bed. She immediately figured out what is happening around her and turned to look at Steve "So... you are? Marshal Steve?". Hearing her calling him 'Marshal Steve' instead of 'Steve', he lifted his head sharply and looked at her shocked but slowly nodded accepting the fact that she had really forgotten everything. Lynn, at this point, figured out that she is not in any dream or heaven but instead inside a novel that she read so many times and equally cursed so much to even remember every single word from it. Yet, she still wanted to confirm this absurdity, "you... can't speak. Right?". Steve slightly nodded and looked at her with the same worried face she remembered seeing in her dreams. Lynn softened when she saw that worrying face of his. As a person who never had anyone around her except Rey who would fume every time she does something dangerous, she hardly has anyone to worry about her like this.
Seeing Steve's worried face, it reminded her of Rey. She sighed and signalled him to get up "Half an hour, I will get ready. Please help me with remembering things about myself." Though that 'please' caught Steve off-guard, he schooled his expression and nodded vigorously signing that he will wait outside her cabin for her.
