Chapter 9

Still at the park

"Excuse me"Davina kept telling the people as she is walking in their midst...

She continued to walk inside the crowd for the unknown thing she is looking for......

She walked down till she reached the end of the crowd without finding anyone...

"Why do I feel unrest," Davina said to herself as she stood looking around for nothing she can't pinpoint...

"How did I find myself here," she said looking around...

"Oh my God, I hope am not going crazy" she continued to talk to herself

"Why will I walk down here"

"For what"

"Maybe I should ask people" she turned walking directly closer to a young lady who is breastfeeding her baby

"Hmmm, good evening ma" she greeted

"Good evening, what can I do for you"The lady replied smiling

"I just want to ask you whether you felt something when everyone gathered if you noticed anything"

"Anything as how"The lady asked confused

"What I'm saying is, that moment didn't you see anything," Davina said again

"Which thing"The lady asked again getting angry this time around

"Like maybe some pair of eyes looking at me"

"Looking at you?, why will I be watching you"The lady answered irritatedly

"Yes, I felt some pairs of eyes staring keenly at me"

"Young lady, it's very important to visit the asylum home"

"Huh"

"My dear, you are exhibiting the act of madness because it's only a mad person that will stare at someone for no reason"

"That's an insult ma'am," Davina told her

"I doubt that if you won't mind I need to leave before something else happen, "The Young lady said standing up from the love bench in the garden of the park......

"Something else like what will happen, "Davina asked confused

"That question should be answered by yourself, The way mad people display, "The lady told her blankly and walked away

"How do mad people display"Davina asked herself as she stood

"Just because I asked her question she is insulting me" she scoffed

"What impudence"

"But it's true, why will I walk up to someone and ask about something unreasonable that even I can't pinpoint"

"Hmm, This is an example of madness" she hugged herself

"Phew, why I'm I getting worked up for no reason," she said releasing her breath she had been holding for a while

"Now, I need to go for a check-up like she said rolling her eyes

"Why did I even refer to her, if she says am mad then she is mad too because it's only a mad person that will recognize a mad person," she said frowning...

"Now, I'm relieved after quoting that statement" she added sighing softly...

Davina noticed some people are staring at her and whispering back at her

"Why are you staring at me" she shouted at them scaring them away...

Davina looked at her wristwatch to check the time and gasped

"My Goodness, it's 7:48 pm, I'm sure David will be looking for me, I hope he won't have gone to the police station to report for a missing person because he can be stupid at times" hissed and walked away...

"Davina" he called out

"Where did this girl go to"

"I shouldn't have followed her here in the first place"

"I hope it's not what I'm thinking about"

"Why will she run off without telling me"

David is found talking to himself at the beginning of the street where they entered the park close to four street guys smoking after fruitless efforts of searching for Davina...

He had looked for her everywhere but still, she is nowhere to be found...He went up to those guys......

"Good evening" he greeted covering his nose so he won't inhale the smoke

"What do you want, "The first guy said emitting smoke on his face

"I just .....wanted to ........ ask you something"David was talking and at the same time coughing because the effect of the smoke

"What exactly do you want, "The first guy asked again

"I only wanted to ask if you have seen my sister"David talked while holding his throat

"What about her, "The second guy asked taking a glimpse of his face

"We passed this place two hours ago but I can't find her again, so I was wondering if you have seen her, probably you saw us when passing"

"Do we look like watchmen, that watches over people"The third guy snarled

"You are so so bold" The first guy added

"Of course, he is a rich boy you know"The second guy shrugged

"Leave the young boy alone, it was just a question, "The fourth guy who looked like the boss among them said to him calmly as David nodded looking scared...

"Don't be afraid" he told David

"We don't know your sister and we haven't seen her, alright"

"Ok sir, thank you, sir, I do appreciate it" he bowed as he run off like he was chased...

"Remember me never to talk to street guys" he tapped his head when he stopped panting realizing he had gone far from their spot...

Thirty Minutes Later.

After walking around the park without finding her....he sighed...

"Where could this girl have gone to," he said walking down the street trying to locate her through his eyes.....

He got to a two-story building located at the rear end of the street painted lemon green with cream color with a beautiful garden close to it and no gate...

They are many benches where a lot of people most especially lovers also couples are chit-chatting clinging to each other......

He stopped and stared closely at the building and saw boldly written word on it, "DAISY'S LIBRARY"

"Wow, A library almost close to an amusement park"

"This is incredible" he shouted joyfully allowing people to stare at him weirdly...

He mouthed"I'm sorry" to them as he walked towards the entrance and abruptly stopped remembering about his sister's whereabouts, Davina...

"This is so annoying, why is Davina doing like this to me"

"I can't jilt her because of the library"

"This is crazy," he thought as he rough his hair

"What can I do too.......

As he was thinking about his sister and also his likes he just found....his phone rang displaying his sister's name"CUTEST TWIN" on the screen...

"I have even forgotten about using this," he said before picking the call...

"How will you remember," his subconscious mind told him

"Just shut up", he shunned

"Hey, Davina where the fuck are you" he questioned her

"I'm sorry, I don't know where I'm"

"Why didn't you tell me where you going to" he scolded her

"I said I'm sorry, stop being dramatic," she said rolling her eyes as David could see her

"I'm at the front of the library," he said looking at the building as he told her

"So.......

"Give me half an hour, I will meet you at the beginning of the park"

"Ok, don't keep me waiting"

"Suit yourself," he told her as he dropped the call

"I don't know why God had to give me a vexatious twin"

He entered the library and walked down to the receptionist at the left side of the building

"Good evening"

"Good evening, what can I do for you"The Twenty-year-old lady greeted smiling

"I will like to have the story named "TO THE GIRL I LOVE"by Author Blessing Adebayo"

"It's definitely in our stock, I don't know why everyone is asking for the book, especially teenage boys," she asked him as she is penning down some things

"That's because it's from Author Blessing Adebayo, Everyone loves her" he smiled

"Maybe, go upstairs and take your right the second shelf"

"Thanks"

"You are welcome" he waved at her

David climbed up locating where the shelf is walking fast, eager to get the book quickly and most importantly, to go back and meet his sister since it's already late...

He was just going without paying attention to his environment only on what is in his mind...As he was in his thoughts, He bumped straight into someone letting the books the person was carrying fall to the ground...

"Ohhh I'm sorry," They both said together looking up together as they chuckled.

"You again," David said out surprised.....
