Chapter 3 Running Into Danger

Present day: 2050

A young boy around the age of 16, Black curly hair which was in perfect shape almost passing his neck length, blue eyes, and a place skin was seen running into the slums, into different alleys dodging partially anything in his way. He was been chased by 3 men dressed from head to toe in blue armor with long swords in their hands.

They were only 25meters away from catching up to the young boy who happens to be holding a bag filled with fruits.

These were the town's lowest police officers who didn't have any abilities, they were regularly trained officers who were trained to stop any feud in the small town Philadelphia one of the towns in Harrisburg the capital of Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania is a state in America. The State of Pennsylvania is located in the Middle Atlantic region of the United States. Pennsylvania is bordered by the state of New York in the north; by Delaware in the southeast; by Maryland in the south; by West Virginia in the southwest; by Ohio in the west and by New Jersey and Delaware River in the east. It is also bordered by Lake Erie and the Canadian province of Ontario in the northwest.

Covering an area of 119,283 sq. km, the State of Pennsylvania is located in the Middle Atlantic region of the United States.

Philadelphia is 1 of the 20 towns where humans reside and some low leveled angels, demons reside. Cambion ( half humans-half demon), and Nephilim(Halfangel-halfhuman) don't stay in Philadelphia they reside in the capitals cities like Harrisburg and other rich and capital cities of the world, because they are considered the strongest and superiors to other species.

The young boy could be seen closing in at the town's orphanage. as he ran past another alley hid inside a dumpster and then covered it up.

" I can't let them get me, no I can't, God of angels or God of demons please help me if you can hear me, please protect me and not let them catch me please I don't want to go to jail, please! I have people waiting for me at the orphanage to feed, I promise not to steal again!" The young boy was kneeling inside the dumpster praying.

When the police reach the dumpster, they started searching around if they could spot the young boy who they were chasing after, one of them walked towards the dumpster but stopped his tracks.

" Theirs no way he would enter the dumpster, he must have outsmarted us, let's go guys will get him next time".he was a tall slim man with short brown hair, he seems to be the leader of the 3 since they listened to him and stopped searching and started heading back.

" Will get you, next time kid! you won't get lucky next time!" the police shouted as they started moving back.

After waiting for up to 10minutes the young boy opened the dumpster a little to check his surroundings, once he was sure that the coast was clear he came out and started running heading towards the orphanage.

This was Jace who went to steal fruits from the local shop downtown, he was spotted leaving the store without paying and was immediately declared a thief by the shopkeeper who started shouting thief! it alerted the Sphinx who was the blue police squad, and 3 of them started chasing after Jace.

He arrived at the orphanage and sneaked in through the back crooked door. He opened it gently as to not make any sound and closed it swiftly, he immediately tipped toed into the room meant for the kids.

The room was dark and he switched the lights on and was greeted with lots of weary faces and smiles on some other faces mostly the kids.

" I told you Jace will come back yai!" One of the litter kids who looked to be around the age of 6 spoke.

" You got us all worried there Jace we thought you got caught and thrown to jail" A girl spoke, she looks to be a year younger than Jace with blonde dirty hair.

" Promise us, Jace! promise you won't go out stealing for us again, I know you are just doing it so we can survive this cruel and wicked world, but you are putting yourself at risk and you might not be lucky next time!" Another girl spoke, she was the same age as Jace.

" Thanks for everything Jace we all appreciate, even me I appreciate and am so ashamed of myself for being this useless, I wish I could help you out, but am stuck to this stupid chair!" A boy of 17 who seemed to be the oldest among all the children including Jace said with a sad face, he was sitting in a wheelchair.

" You don't need to bother yourself guys I can handle myself and Luke always remember you are not useless, it's only the society that is useless". Jace replied with a smile.

Jake immediately brought out the fruits and food he brought and they all started eating it. " Jace The orphanage head said he wants to see you, but we told him you went to fetch water do he said you should see him as soon as you come back". One of the children spoke looking at Jace.

Jace immediately got up in shock, he wanted to panic but he saw that all eyes were on him so he calmed down and excused himself from the children saying they should continue eating that he will go and answer the orphanage head.

Immediately he got outside of the room, his heart started beating and he became afraid.

" Why does the orphanage head want to see me, did he find out that I steal to get food for the children!, no I don't think so it must have been about the work I wasn't able to complete yesterday!" Jace concluded calming himself.

It wasn't his intention to steal but the world has been so cruel to them, nobody to take care of them or feed them, the orphanage workers only give them food once a day lying and saying that the government doesn't provide enough money to feed them.
