Seeing that he couldn't reply,,, she continues talking. She was bent on making him hating Karen.
" She tried killing my sister and she ran away from the house" she lied watching him intently waiting for his reaction.
All this felt like a dream to Jake. He couldn't believe Karen could try to do such.

He turned back for a while before facing her back fully.
He was gonna use her to get the truth from Karen and then dump her.

He moved closer to her and Ava was shocked at his sudden movement.

" Actually,, I wanted to apologize to Karen because of my improper act few days ago. I just wanted to clear my indifference towards her." He said tucking her hair behind her ear.
" Why? Why do you want to apologize to her?" She whispered,, the effects of his hands on her and him being close to her was doing things to her.
" Because of you" he replied
" Huh? Because of me?" She was surprised by his words.
" Yea.. actually,, I've had this huge crush on you an...."
" You have a crush on me? Like seriously?" She asked elated by his words.
" Yea? And then Karen coming to me telling me she likes me was like a huge blow to my face"
" Karen is just a bitch,, don't mind her. So, why didn't you come to me earlier?" She asked
" Well, I didn't know how to tell you. What if you reject me... I can't take it" he said smiling inwardly.
He never knew it was gonna be easy like this.
" Of course not, Jake. I can't reject you. I like you.. no, I love you Jake. I love you a lot" she whispered looking into his eyes.
Now, that's one step. Never knew she was a bitch. A cheap girl.
" Really?" He asked feigning happiness
" Yea" she hugs him
" I'm so happy Jake!" She screamed.
" Me too." He pulled away from the hug.
" So, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked even though he already knew the answer.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!!" Ava screamed excitedly.
Jake bent his head towards her acting like he was gonna kiss her,, but Ava quickly slammed her lips on his.
Jake widened his eyes in shock. He wasn't expecting that.
He closed his eyes and decided to play along as he kissed her back.
Flashes of cameras disrupted their moment. And Jake pulled away from to kiss to see some students whispering among each other while videoing and picturing them.

" Jake is mine from now on. We're officially dating." She said and look at Jake.

" Sure" Jake muttered and smiled mischievously. She just digged her own grave.
She made things easier for him.
Ava looked at the students,, some were staring at her with admiration while some glaring and giving her hateful glares.
She smiled before pulling Jake and claimed his lips.

Mrs. Baker looked at her husband before facing Mark.
" Did something happened between you two?" She asked
" No. It's just couple stuff. I guess she's angry because I wasn't there when she was in labor." Mark explained.
Sophia turned and looked at him with a look which says ' are you kidding me?'
Mark returned the glare which says ' do you mind if I tell them what you did?'
She cleared her throat before looking away.
" I understand. Sophia don't be angry cos I'm sure he didn't know" Mr. Baker said as he laughed.
" We should leave the two for now" Mrs. Baker said to her husband who nods in agreement.
" Why are you here?" Sophia asked immediately her parents went outnof the room.
" Do you want me to go back" Mark asked instead.
" It's up to you." She said before turning her back to him again.
Mark looked at her for a while before standing up,, walking up to the door.
" Are you leaving?" Sophia asked.
He turned back to face her to find her looking at him.
" I thought you wanted me out" he muttered.
" Yea and I was about telling you to close the door on your way out" he said.
Mark looked at her with disbelief. Was she asking him out of the room?
Nods his head unbelievably" fine, I'm leaving. Just don't call me if you don't see me." He warned before leaving making sure to banged the door shut loudly.
He was never coming back again!
The only thing that can ever make him to come to visit her is his baby and nothing else.
Sophia sighed after he left before closing her eyes to sleep.
EVENING,,,, THE THOMAS HOUSE***
Mrs. Thomas smiled as she saw her husband's car moving into the house.
He called up earlier saying he was coming home after she informed him of Karen.
Immediately she ran downstairs to welcome him and they both went upstairs.
" So, what do you intend to do with the girl?" Mr. Thomas asked after they settled down in the room.
" I plan to adopt the girl" Mrs. Thomas blurted out.

Mark sat in a bar drinking with his friend, Damien. He already explained everything that transpired between he and Sophia to him.
Damien laughed at him in a mocking way after hearing what he said.
" I warned you about that girl, didn't I? I told you not to date her right?" He asked as he arched his brows.
" Yea, you did. And right now, I regret not ever listening to you. That girl is so rude. She's a pain in the ass" Mark said.
" You should face your cross. And for the fact that she's your baby mama,, you have to endure it" Damien said as he laughed.
" That's it. If not for the baby, I already considered leaving her alone. Can you imagine she accused me of sleeping with Karen?"
" Holy shit! Are you for real?" Damien asked as he gasped.
" Of course. Like, what did she take me for? Buddy, I'm tired" Mark said with a groan.
" Of course you should be. I already hated her at first sight. I've always knew she was a bad luck. Who knows if you're not even the father of the baby" Damien said.
" Hey, no. Don't go there. I don't wanna deny my baby. I'm sure I'm the father of the child" Mark said so sure of himself.
" If that's so, why did she lie to you that she was three months pregnant,, whereas it was six months?. Like, who the hell find out she's pregnant at six months? Dude, think straight."
Mark looked at him for a while and sighed.
" See, I'm not trying to destroy your relationship or something like that,, but I hope you think wisely.... Well, you might be the father of the child,,, so, don't let my words to get to you" Damien muttered.
" I'm the father of the child and that's final." Mark said leaving no room for argument.
" Okay, fine. So, what do you intend to do now?" Damien asked.
" What else? I'm never going to that hospital again. Even when she get discharged,, I won't show up . Since she wants me out of her life,, and so be it" Mark said.
" I can't kill myself over a lady. If she can't ever bring herself to apologize to me,, then she'll just be my baby mama and nothing else" he added.
" Buddy, just calm down okay?" Damien said while patting his shoulder.
Mrs. Thomas looked at her husband expectantly,, curious to know his reply.
" You plan to adopt her?" Mr. Thomas asked not believing what she said.
" Yea,, anything wrong with that?" Mrs. Thomas asked.
" Everything thing is wrong with that. How could you ever think of adopting someone you don't even know? What if she has her parents?" He asked.
" No parents would ever allow their daughter out at that time of the night." She defended.
" Even though, that doesn't feel right. You can't just say you want to adopt anyone like that. We don't even know the kind of person she is. " Mr. Thomas said.
" Even so... I'm in a desperate need of a daughter and....," She suddenly broke into tears and sat on the bed.
Mr. Thomas quickly rushed to her and sat beside her wrapping his hands around her.
" Marina,, I understand you. I know you need a daughter to call your own,, but we can't just make a rash decision like that. What if the girl's parents are looking for her? And what will that make us if we just decide to keep her like that?" He asked trying to talk sense into her.
" I know, Josh. But I just need a daughter that will always follow me to the supermarket,, someone we can go to the spa together. I just need a company" she muttered looking at him with tear fillled eyes.
" Okay, fine. Let's do it this way. Let's hear the girl's side of story first before we make any decision. Is that okay by you?"
" Yea, sure. Thanks a lot, Josh" she muttered before hugging him tightly.
Michael and Miguel both sat on a chair looking at Karen who was still sleeping.
Miguel looked at her arching his eyebrows.
" Isn't is strange?" He asked looking at Michael.
" What?" Michael asked back confused as to what he was saying.
" She has been sleeping since last night and still not awake. Isn't that strange?" He asked.
" Yea, I also thought of that." Michael replied.
"What if she's not a human being? Or worst still, she's dead? Oh no! We're in trouble!" Miguel cried out.
Michael slapped his head and he quickly snapped his head towards him and frowned.
" I just thought of resetting your brain,, since you seem to might have lost it" he muttered.
" Really? So, you mean,, I don't have a brain right? " Miguel asked.
" If that's how you want to put it then it's fine" Michael said and shrugged.
" You started it yourself you know that. And if I...."
" She's awake!" Michael exclaimed which caught Miguel's attention and they both turned their heads toward Karen's direction to find her awake.
Karen groaned softly as she opened her eyes.
She looked around the room and the first thing that caught her eyes was the two handsome creatures in her front staring at her.
Her eyes widened at their sight.
Are they angels?
" Are you guys angels? Am I in heaven? Did I die?" She asked looking at them
They are too hot to be called ordinary human being.
Michael and Miguel looked at her before laughing.
Did she just call them angels?
" Hey, I know we're too handsome,,but calling us angels is out of it" Miguel said cockily.
Karen looked at him confusingly.
If they aren't angels,, then what are they?
What was she doing here?
" Then, where am I?" She did not know when she said it out.
Michael looked at her and sighed. She was beginning to annoy him.
Why was she acting like a dumb girl? He thought inwardly.
" You don't remember anything?" Miguel asked her.
" Something like what?" Karen asked trying to recollect the past events that happened to her.
Then the memories all came rushing to her.
How Sophia beated her up after accusing her of cheating with Mark.
How she pushed her while trying to defend herself which got Sophia in the hospital.
How her father chased her out of the house despite knowing she has nowhere to go.
Tears slowly formed in her eyes. She thought everything was a dream not knowing it was reality.
Michael looked at her seeing that she was at the verge of crying.
Was this girl normal?
" Are you the one who saved me?" She asked looking at the both of them.
It was at that moment Mr. Thomas and his wife entered the room.
Mrs. Thomas eyes widened on seeing she was awake.
She quickly rushed to her and sat beside her.
" Dear, you're awake. How are you feeling now?" She asked with her eyes laced with concern.
" I'm fine thanks." Karen replied.
" Are you the one who saved me?" She asked
" Yes.. I saw you wandering around late at night and you passed out at the front of my car. I had to rush you here since you were really burning up" Mrs. Thomas explained.
Karen looked at her in surprise and admiration. This was the first time someone was actually caring for her.
She did not know where tears spilled out of her eyes.
Mrs. Thomas quickly pulled her into a motherly hug while pacifying her.
" Thank you so much ma'am. Thank you so much!" She said while crying.
" It's okay, dear". Mrs. Thomas said while petting her.
After a while, Karen disengaged from the hug and dried her tears.
Mr. Thomas walked over to them before looking over at his sons who immediately greeted him.
He replied with a curt nod before facing Karen.
" Can I ask you some questions?" He asked her.
" Yes sir" she replied nodding her head.
" Where are you from? Why were you wandering alone at night? Don't you have parents?"
Karen looked at them for a while before explaining all her ordeal to them though omitting the part that she killed Sophia's baby away.
" What!! How dare them? They ought to be sued for child abuse" Mrs. Thomas flared up immediately Karen finished talking.
Michael looked at her with an expression he couldn't put his hand on.
She has really gone through a lot.
Mrs. Thomas did not know when she started crying.
Where she was desperately looking for a female child,,, some ungrateful fellows were maltreating her.
She moved closer to Karen and pulled her into a warmly hug.
" You're safe here. You'll be fine here. Everything will be okay" she said.
Mr. Thomas too went and joined in the hug.
" Do you mind staying here?" Mrs. Thomas asked immediately they disengaged from the hug.
" Do you mean it ma?" Karen asked.
She wasn't expecting that at all.
" Yes of course. I don't really mind if you stay here, right Josh?" She faced her husband.
" Yea, sure" he agreed.
" Do you have any problem with that?" Mr. Thomas asked looking at the boys.
" It's your house,, you do as you wish" Michael muttered before leaving the room.
He just wasn't thinking straight at the moment.
" Yea, sure. I don't mind" Miguel replied and Karen smiled at him.
" Thank you so much. Words can't describe how happy I am" she gushed happily.
Mrs. Thomas simply smiled before standing up.
" Let me get you something to eat. I'm sure you're starving" she said before going out with her husband.
Miguel walked closer to Karen and smiled.
She was much prettier while awake.
" I'm Miguel" he introduced.
" I'm Karen" she replied.
" Wow! You've got a cute name here. I'm the first person to know your name here, right?" He asked
" Yes" she answered.
" Then I'm honored. You're beautiful anyway." He complimented while smiling at her.
Karen looked at him as pink blush slowly crept to her cheeks.
That was the first time someone has ever complimented her in her life.
She couldn't help but blush harder.

JAKE'S HOUSE***
Jake sat slowly in his room while in deep thoughts.
Could Ava be right about Karen?
But the most amazing thing was that despite what he heard about Karen,, he still couldn't stop loving her.
The door opened, revealing Richard who strotted in whistling happily.
" Yo man!" He greeted Jake.
" Buddy, I don't know what to do anymore" Jake muttered.
" What do you mean?" Richard asked as he sat down on a cushion.
" Karen left. She left me" he whispered.
" Like, I don't get you..."
" Karen is no longer coming again. She left for good. I don't know what to do. I love her so much" Jake muttered as tears slowly spilled out of his eyes.

" Oh my goodness! I'm still in shock" Ava said while watching the video on the school blog.
" I'm dating Jake. The hot guy in the school" she exclaimed happily dancing around.
" Good for you. What about Sam?" Linda asked.
" Sam? Who's Sam?" Ava asked
Linda looked at her with disbelief.
" Are you denying your boyfriend now?" Linda asked cocking her eyebrows at her.
" Hey, point of correction. Ex not my boyfriend anymore." Ava said smirking.
" How? Did you break up already?" Linda asked confused.
" No. But will do that now."
" Don't tell me you're cheating on him?" Linda gasped.
" Is it a new thing?" Ava asked rhetorically.
" That's too bad. At least you should have break up with him before deciding to date Jake" Linda said.
" Opportunity comes but once. I can't misuse this"
" Whatever. So, has he called? He should have seen the video by now" Linda said.
One would know she wasn't happy by Ava's decision.
" Not yet. But I'm sure that very soon,, he'll be on knees pleading" Ava said.
Linda shook her head sadly pitying the poor boy.
The blaring of Ava's phone disrupted her thought as Ava smiled on seeing the caller.
" Talk of the devil" she muttered before picking the call.
" Babe, what was that video all about?" Sam asked immediately she picked the call.
" Whatever you think it is" Ava muttered rudely.
" Don't tell me that's true. You aren't dating Jake, right?" Sam asked.
" Don't ask me a foolish question when you already know the answer. I'm dating Jake now and I think it's high time we...."
Cuts her off " no, no. Don't say it. I don't want to hear it. You're joking right? You can't do this to me" Sam said feeling hurt.
" Do I sound like I'm joking? I'm no longer interested. Besides, I'm tired of you. I wanna try a new guy now" Ava said.
" Are you serious? After everything we've done together? Is this how you're gonna end it?" Sam asked at the verge of tears.
" Look here, Sam. You're not the first person to be dumped right? So chillax"
" I know you're talking this way cos I'm not there right? I don't want to think this is true so let's talk better when we get to school tomorrow. Goodnight, baby. I love you" he slowly whispered as he tried to control the tears threatening to spill out of his eyes.
Ava only rolled her eyes before hanging up.
" Guess I'll be taking my leave now" Linda said and stood up.
" So soon? Why don't you stay a bit more?" Ava asked looking at her.
" I can't. I need to go home. See you later,bes" she waved as she walked out of the house.
Ava watched her as she left the house.
" Just what's up with her?" She wondered out loud.
She picked her phone and dialed Jake's number,, smiling as she did.
Linda walked out of Ava's house slowly and couldn't stop thinking about Sam.
How's he feeling now?
She knows how much that guy loves Ava and knowing that he'll be sad now makes her feel bad.
Sometimes, she always get jealous of his love towards Ava and she just couldn't see why Ava decided to do that to him.
She shook her head sadly before boarding a cab home.
Richard looked at Jake in surprise.
His egoist friend was crying because of a girl?
" What do you mean by she left for good? Did something happened to her?" He asked.
Jake was about to answer when the ringing of his phone cuts him off.
He picked the phone and checked the caller. And on seeing Ava's name written boldly on it,, he dropped the phone.
" Who's is it?" Richard asked.
" Ava" he simply replied.
" Ava? Karen's sister?" Richard asked to be sure.
" Yea.." he replied knowing where he was going to.
" Why would she be calling you? " He asked surprising Jake.
" Haven't you checked the video on the school blog?" Jake asked instead.
" What video?" Richard asked as he brings his phone out and went to the school blog.
His eyes widened on seeing the video he was seeing and he looked at Jake with a look that says ' can you tell me what's going on?'.
Jake looked at him and sighed before narrating everything Ava told him about Karen.
" What!! That's not true! Karen can't do such" Richard said.
" That's what I also thought at first but,, I just don't know what to do. It feels like I'm going insane" Jake muttered frustratingly.
" So, how has that got to do with you kissing Ava?" He asked.
" I'm just using her. I don't want to believe anything she said. So, I'm using her as a bait to find out the truth. If possible if she knows Karen's whereabout." Jake explained.
" And she kissed you just like that? Are you dating her now?" He asked.
" Yea,,, fake relationship though cos I can never date her. She's so shameless"
" I agree with you on that. How could she date you despite knowing what you did the her sister. She's indeed shameless" Richard muttered shaking his head.
" But do you know this is all your fault? If you had apologized to her when I asked you to, this wouldn't have happened." He added.
" Yea, I know. I'm a jerk" Jake said.
" So, what do you intend to do about Ava? Are you gonna sleep with her too like the other girls?" Richard asked.
" I have no intention to but if she wants it,, in gonna give it to her. Not like I love her or something. I'm just gonna use her and then dump her" Jake said looking at him.
" When are you ever gonna change?" Richard asked.
" That's if Karen comes back to me" he replied and Richard laughed out loud.
" Can't believe you cried over a girl" he said as he continues laughing.
" I'm gonna stick this to my memory and tell that to Karen when I see her."
" Don't you dare!" Jake yelled rushing to him
Richard smiled seeing he had succeeded in lifting up his mood.

" Are you enjoying your food?" Mrs. Thomas asked as she watched Karen eating admiringly.
Karen looked up and smiled at her.
" Yes, ma'am. I love the food,, it's delicious. You're a good cook ma'am" Karen said.
" You can call me mom" Mrs. Thomas said and Michael and Karen choked on their food simultaneously.
They were quickly served water.
Karen looked at Michael before looking at Mrs. Thomas in shock.
Did she just asked her to call her mom?
" You don't have to be surprised, dear. You can also call me dad too" Mr. Thomas said and smiled at her.
Karen looked at them and didn't know when she started crying.
" Oh no, dear" Mrs. Thomas quickly rushed to her and wiped her tears.
" You don't have to tear up. I wanna treat you like my child from now on. You're like a part of our family now" she said.
Karen just nods in tears.
Everything felt too good to be true.
" Thank you so much mom and dad" she whispered and Mrs. Thomas pulled at into a hug.
Miguel looked at Karen and smiled. He was so happy for her.
" You haven't told us your name" Mr. Thomas said.
" Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Karen Baker" she muttered.
" Your name is cute" Michael said and Karen looked at him.
Did he just talk to her?
" Thanks" she whispered.
" I'm Michael" he said.
" Nice to meet you" she said.
" Same here" he muttered.
Mrs. Thomas looked at Michael and smiled. She was glad he was talking to her.
" So, guys let's cheer up and eat our food." Mr. Thomas said.
Mrs. Thomas went back to her seat and smiled. She was glad everything was going well.
Karen looked at all of them and smiled... They were like a happy family.
