Chapter 8 You Have Let Me Down

"Mr.Daniel Black.. " When she mumbled his name, her eyes became red in anger, sorrow and disappointment, " You have let me down. "

When Daniel heard her words, he felt something heavy had been pressed against his chest. He was about to choke but couldn't remove the burden from his heart.

"Savannah.. " He said in a low voice, " I have never wanted to let you down.. "

"Then why? " Savannah snorted, " Why the fûck did you get married to another girl even in front of my eyes? "

"I.. I didn't have any choice.. " Daniel was seeming dejected, he stood like a statue with no emotion, " I couldn't make anything up.. "

"Huh! " Savannah leered, " So should I believe you? "

"Up to you.. " When Daniel finished his words, he was looking so exhausted and carefree, like he wanted to give up on everything and wanted to sleep forever.

Seeing him like that, Savannah could understand something had really happened and that's why they were like that or else even if he was broken inside he wouldn't show his emotion.

She came forward and cupped his face and asked softly, " What happened? "

"Do you care? " Daniel's voice should be sarcastic but he sounded so depressed which made Savannah's heart sink.

She removed her hand from him and asked Richard to leave them alone for sometime.

"Sure. I am leaving then. I have something to do too. " By saying Richard left from there but looked back twice only to find Savannah was staring at Daniel with so much worry and care.

"Now tell me what happened? What had Neha done with you? " She jerked him for a moment.

As he was off guard, he fell down on the couch and looked at Savannah.

When she met with those expressionless eyes which were as still as water down in the deep sea, she felt a little frightened.

"I.. " He sighed, " I have given up on everything.. or you can say I have lost everything.. "

"What's wrong with you? " Savannah furrowed her brows, " What the hell has happened? "

"Neha.. " Daniel explained everything to Savannah how Neha and her father had snatched everything from him and he could just see the whole company collapsed from inside even if it looked alright from the surface.

How his father sold him out and eventually he couldn't hold himself back and was crying helplessly..

"Why... '' Savannah's eyes were welling up with tears as well when she saw Daniel so devastated, " Why didn't you tell me anything? Have you ever considered me as your girlfriend?"

"I have.. " He sighed, " That's why I wanted to protect you, I wanted to keep you away from everything.. "

"But.. I always want to help you.. " She said in a low voice and held Daniel's hand gently.

"But it won't make any sense now! " Daniel withdrew the hand and got up, " Since you want revenge then let's be mutual enemies from now on.. We will drag each other down to the mud pit.. "

By saying he turned back for leaving and Savannah was staring at his silhouette which was fading slowly behind the door.

She wanted to stop him, hug him and kiss him but she could only be grounded.

When Daniel finally left, she got back to her senses and bit her lips hard.

She recalled each sentence Daniel said to her and clenched her fists tightly.

Her eyes turned cold while she mumbled, " Neha Wade, I won't forgive you for playing those tricks with me. Since you won't give up let's die together. "

The sky was much better than before when Daniel stopped before a high class bar.

"Welcome.. Welcome! " When Daniel reached there, a handsome young man who was hardly twenty six, came forward and patted Daniel's shoulder, " Why are you here? "

"Nothing.. Just for changing air. " Daniel concluded briefly.

"Dani.. " The man chuckled, " Do you really think of me as your best friend? Tell me what's wrong? I can feel that you are not well. "

"Lucas.. " Daniel sighed, " I want to get drunk today, can I? "

When Lucas saw how haggard and pale Daniel was looking, he could understand something bad had happened but since he wasn't willing to open up, all Lucas could do was just to keep him company and let him feel relief..

They ordered a few drinks.

"What's going on? " Lucas handed over a glass of beer, " You have never had drinks before.. "

"I.. I just want to forget everything for sometime.. " Daniel lowered his head and took a deep breath before saying, " I have finally lost her today.. "

When Lucas heard his words, he was startled at first but soon could understand and interjected, " Savannah? "

"Mhm.. " Daniel nodded.

"That's not so surprising though.. " He casually took the glass and sipped elegantly.

His sword-like eyebrows were raised for a while before coming to normal form, " You both are not suitable for each other.. "

"What do you mean? " Daniel's face became stiff as the nerve was popping out of his forehead.

"Don't get me wrong.. '' Lucas quickly clarified his words, " Actually you both are so vengeful and like to hold grudges, so of course there will be no future in a relationship if there's no adjustment. "

Lucas paused for a while and then patted Daniel's shoulder, " Dani, it's enough now. Go home and have a good life with Neha."

"You.. " When Daniel heard 'Neha', he was about to explode in anger, " Do I look like a fool to you? "

"Nope." Lucas pursed his lips, " But the things have been done already, can you change it now? "

"I... " Daniel lowered his head.

"You can't, right? " Lucas sighed..

Daniel bit his lower lip and took the glass of wine and gulped down in one go.

"Huh! " Daniel was exhaling deeply, " Have I lost already?

Daniel, you are such a coward.. "

By saying, he had gulped down a few drinks and finally collapsed.

When Lucas saw his dearest friend like that, he felt pity..

How could the sunny boy become like that?

With no light!

He pulled Daniel up, " Hey, wake up! Let's go home! "

"I.. I don't have any home.. " He muttered.

"Tsk.. '' Lucas pursed his lips while frowning and got in his car with Daniel who was drunk and babbling nonsense.

It was a matter of time since they reached the villa and found Neha at the door who was looking at outside

" You are waiting for him? " Lucas asked.

Neha chuckled but kept mum.
