Chapter 2 2

How do you know? – what I was surprised to say is nothing.

- You can see in your eyes how they burn with the fire of a thirst for adventure - this cunning old woman winked.

- So, okay, let me put a new catheter in you and you lie down and sleep, okay? I asked.

- Laaaaaaadno, so be it, I will succumb to you - and turned away to look out the window, as if there hadn't even been a conversation, but she didn't wink at me slyly.

I put a catheter in the old lady and ran back to work with five minutes for lunch and dinner.

I worked in the main medical building named after A. Benson. It was my best job, since I was still a student and had an internship here and was liked by the main authorities. They offered me a job with them and I accepted. Immediately after graduation, I went to work. The work suited me and I really liked everything, though I worked until nine o'clock in the evening and returned home already dark, but I was not going to leave.

I live alone, because my parents are in another city far from me and they are not up to me now, because my younger sister went to first grade and she needs to be taught everything.

The night has come. I finished all my affairs, filled out some papers, once again went around the patients who were put on my person. Everything was fine, the hospital was quiet. I was heading home.

- Bye - I smiled at Lindsay, she was on duty on the night shift today.

- Bye - she told me and continued to sit on her phone.

I went outside, breathed in the fresh, night air after the rain, and put the headphones in my ears. The music matched the mood and the weather. It was calm classical music. In general, I am a music lover and my tastes depend on the weather and mood.

It was quiet and calm on the street, but suddenly a large smeared shadow slipped in front of me, either an animal or something supernatural.

I stopped, my heart was beating fast, I no longer listened to music, and in general I just turned it off.

- Hey, is there someone here? - I looked around the neighborhood - If this is a joke, then it's not funny!

I was very scared, and just as I was about to run with all my might, three more shadows jumped out in front of me, but this time I saw it and was horrified. The scream stuck in my throat. These were three huge black wolves, but there was only one in which the greatest strength was felt. He had amber-yellow eyes. The rest were inferior to him in size and strength. They bared their mouths and growled. My heart sank.

Hey, everything's fine, you're good right? I don't know what I was hoping for when I asked.

Then my instinct of self-preservation kicked in, and I rushed back to the hospital as fast as I could. Hearing that they were running after me, I tried to add speed, but that was all my limit. Almost reaching the hospital, I heard a growl from behind. Another wolf appeared, also huge, but gray, he had ice-gray eyes.

He growled and the three charged at him. I wanted to scream, but I knew that this would only draw attention to myself. I was going to run to the hospital while the wolves were busy with their showdown, but I heard whining and my heart could not stand it. It was necessary to help that gray one, but how!?

Remembering that there are fire items in the hospital, among which is an ax, she ran into the hospital and grabbed the hatchet.

- Hey, what are you doing? Lindsey asked, but I didn't care about her right now.

I ran out into the street and saw that the gray one was almost torn apart, it was necessary to urgently help him. Since the black wolves are on top, I closed my eyes and with all the strength that I have threw an ax, I heard a whine and opened my eyes. Got it.

The blacks looked at me again.

- I can still throw - I said with a challenge - And I'll call the police, so get out while I'm kind.

"You'll be sorry little mean girl - the one with amber eyes growled at me and then howled and left with his slightly beaten gang."

I ran up to the gray one, he was still alive, but a veterinarian was needed here. While I was thinking, I noticed that the wolf was turning into a wounded man.

- Hold on here, I can help you - I said and somehow picked up this carcass. By the way, the carcass was heavy, I thought about it, about eighty kilos would come out.

- Well, you are heavy, wolf, by the way, what else should be noted, he was naked, but absolutely.

I went into the hospital with the carcass and saw Lindsey looking at me with big round eyes.

- You slammed a man with an ax?! she was getting hysterical, and yes, it looks like she was going to call the police.

- No, on the contrary, I saved him from a robbery, so to speak - I justified myself at least that way.

- Ah, so the robbers still slammed - Lindsey, of course, was still in shock, but gradually moved away.

- No, I'll explain everything later, but now help me save this one - I nodded at the carcass.

We put him in a separate room and began to treat the wounds. To be honest, I still do not understand how he is still breathing with such wounds. Lindsey apparently didn't really understand either, since with each wound her eyes became more rounded, and the gears with little thoughts in her head spun more and more often, which is not typical for a blonde, even if it is painted.

I leaned back against the wall with a sigh when we were all done.

Thank you, I smiled at Lindsey. She sent back a smile and left the room.

And I still remained and impudently examined the stranger. He was handsome even in wounds, they somehow emphasized his strength. A powerful torso with six-packs that Lindsey and I both drooled over. A swarthy brunette with straight, coarse hair that you just want to run your hand through.

- Eh - I sighed and went to sleep on a small sofa in the corner.

I woke up early, it was 6 am on the clock. I sat, looked at the handsome man and thought that he would probably want to eat and I should go get a meal (I also wanted to eat - I have a big stomach).

While going for food along the way I met Lindsey.

- Hey! She waved her hand at me and walked over to me. - Well, how is our night hero? – she asked in such an unctuous voice.

- It's okay, I'm going to look for him at least some food, I'm probably hungry - I said and went towards the dining room.

- Mmm, listen, where did you find it? she asked and looked at me with her blue eyes sparkling.

- You won't believe it, on the street - yes, I decided to mock her - she was lying in the trash - I tried to make a serious face, but it turned out badly.
