♦Mark: Was that your mother?
♦ Me: (Under the effect of fear and panic) Yes darling, I have to go back immediately without wasting time otherwise, you may never see me again.
♦Mark: Hmmm!!! In that case, let me drop you off then.
♦Me: (wearing my shoe) Eh!! You want to kill me!? No, don't mind baby, I prefer to go alone. I'll take a zem. Do not worry.
♦Mark: Are you sure it's okay?
♦Me: I can't tell. I have to go home first.
♦Mark: Alright bb. At least hold this money to pay the zem.
♦Me: No, keep the baby. I have what it takes to ensure my trip. Don't get mad, but I'd rather you take the money to pay for what to eat. Don't worry about me honey.
♦Mark: Alright, if you say so.
I gave him a kiss on the mouth with an "I love you" in support before disappearing. I took a zem without even trying to discuss the price. I was wondering you have questions and it scares the hell out of me. She rarely speaks to me in that tone and when she does, it's because I've already done something stupid that she didn't appreciate.
Once arrived, I pay the zem and enter the house while trying to look normal and play the innocent. Knowing my mother, I know that she will notice the abnormality in my attitudes and try to find out more. The shop wasn't open when I got home earlier. Mom was in the living room when I came in, she's well dressed as if she was going to the appointment. It should also be noted that what she wore was not too much but enough to guess that she was getting ready to go somewhere. Beside her is a big bag in which you can pay for things, there I begin to redouble my questions and fear overwhelms me even more. It's not a good sign when a mother gets angry.
♦ Me: (fearfully) Well... Good evening mom.
She kills herself for a few minutes, staring at me as if she had been given my files to assassinate me. I lower my head trying to find what to say to keep her from venting her anger on me and at the same time, I'm also afraid of what she will say to me. Maybe someone has already seen me when I was going to Mark's and the latter came to tell him everything? I doubt it but I'm seriously scared just thinking about it.
♦Me: I'm sorry mom.
♦Mom: Sorry! Are you sorry!? Haven't found a better excuse? Sorry!
♦Me:...
♦Mom: (face creased with anger) What did I tell you this morning before you walked through the gate before going to school?
She said something to me? Still standing, I scratch my head trying to remember but I don't really remember. It was only after a few seconds that my brain finally woke up. Suddenly my eyes widen as if I had just discovered how God had created the world.
♦Mom: Pink! Are you going to answer me rather than roll your eyes like a cat in water? You're wasting my time, do you realize?
♦Me: Yes mum... You have... You asked me to come home quickly to stay in the shop so you can go to the market. (head bowed, shy)
♦Mom: And now, did you come home quickly? If I hadn't called you, would you already be home right now or is that what you call coming home quickly??
♦Me: No, I'm sorry mom.
♦Mom: Are you sorry?! I have nothing to tell you now. I'm already late. I go to the market like this and pray that I can do my shopping peacefully as I planned otherwise, it is you who will collect the broken skins when I return.
She threw me the key to the shop on the floor and before leaving, she called me:
♦Mom: If you don't quickly take this key now and go sit in this damn shop, you'll see what I'm getting on with. I'm going to pull out your nails one by one and dip your fingers in hot water, that's when you'll see the devil even in person. Insolent little one!
As she writes about me, I pick up the key hastily, I go to my room to change my khaki and put on a suit that I wear at home, then go to the store. I open the shop, I put everything in its place, I sweep then I clean what needs to be cleaned before putting my butt down waiting for the customers to come.
My mother, she's not usually like that. She is pretty cool, kind and above all very nice. She's not the mommy type who likes to yell at her kids. She does her things smoothly but as you know everyone has an angry side to them and when you pinch that part of them they can respond in a nasty way. It still does not come from our will, it is natural this reaction which is in us. No tailed animal can accept someone stepping on its tail and get away with it. I understand my mother well, besides, I can only understand her because it's me who tramples her tail from time to time.
Well, I'm getting ready for tonight, I know she has a lot to say to me, to scold me, to yell at me, to lecture me, to limit maybe my hours that I spend outside and to bring out new laws of sanctions in case I do not respect the time at which I have to return to class from now on.
Ah! It's not easy to live alone especially when you are the only child living with a single parent who plays the role of both. But I got used to it from a very young age, even if sometimes I miss my father and the presence of a second sister or a second brother. I try to silence my hurt so as not to cause me further harm as well.
The store is a bit empty. Mom has gone to buy what's missing so she can fill the void because it's not good for customers to come and be told what they want to pay is out of stock.
After an hour spent in the shop, I start dozing off a bit since I was seriously bored. Suddenly, I hear someone shout "Boom!!!" in my ears, I jump with a scare. My heart begins to race and I was about to flee when I realized that it was someone I know who had just scared the hell out of me.
♦ Me: Damn! But Brek, is it not in your head or what? You could have killed me easily, what kind of joke is this!?
He starts to laugh with open throat as if it were a contest of "Who laughs the most, to win. Mine, I look at him from high to go without stopping to look at him.
♦ Me: Koun!! It's not right with you.
♦Break: Oh! My God ! Oh! My sale!!! Ahahahahah!!! It's the best scare stunt I've ever pulled off in my life.
♦Me: Thrummm!!! Whatever, you find it really funny anh!!
♦Brek: No but your reaction does not leave me without laughing, especially the part where you wanted to run away there. I didn't know you had such great fear in you. Ahahahahah!!
♦Me: Thrumm...!!! Say what you want to pay or you get off.
♦Brek: It's you I want to pay. Tell me how much I need to take you.
♦ Me: (mocking laughter) Did you drink before coming here or am I the one who can't hear what you're saying? Have you been told that I am an object or food or should I understand that you have become a cannibal?
♦Brek: (laughs) Everything you say makes me laugh so much and I love hearing your voice like that.
♦Me: It's confirmed, you're really crazy.
Break? He's a neighborhood neighbor who's about the same age as me, but he's doing the premiere right now. Unlike me, he's a real lazy, he's too lazy to study and all he knows how to do is run after girls, skip class to go to the swimming pool, birthday party or go to the video game rooms. I even wonder how he was able to get his BEPC to have the average to pass in first. Well, he should be in final year this year but for lack of averages, he took over the class and I'm not surprised. It doesn't surprise anyone, everyone knows he's a big lazy guy. It's mainly for this reason that I don't like it. I don't like hanging out with lazy people. They don't have anything good in mind and if you let them into your life, you won't end up doing or being like them no matter how conscious you are, even if you try not to let their habit dominate you, there will inevitably be a part of you that will no longer be the same. Something is bound to change in you. Reason why I avoid them as much as possible like someone fleeing the plague.
I would have learned that Brek is a good person but his lazy side does not allow me to get closer to him to know him even more. In addition, he likes too much to do stupid things at the wrong time like what he just did earlier and for that, I hate him even more.
He had courted me when we were in first grade but on a scale of 1 to 10 he had 0 to convince me to go out with him because from 1 he is a lazy person and from 2 we live in the same neighborhood, our houses are not far from each other and my mother doesn't like it either. It's dead !
♦Break: Rorrr!!! Rose, don't tell me you don't understand the meaning of my words.
♦Me: What does it mean? They would have to make sense first before I understand, right? Or can you understand something that doesn't make sense?
♦Brek: Hmmm... So, are you telling me I'm just talking nonsense or what?
♦ Me: Right! For once, you're smart! Hallelujah! There will be rain tonight.
♦Brek: (laughs) Ahahah!! You there, you keep making me laugh...
Hey! Yeah! Another part of him that pisses me off. I don't know how he does it but he never gets angry. I insult him ooh, I push him away ooh, I say bad things to him, this thing that it is not good to say to his neighbor ooh, he only laughs constantly. I have never seen him angry. But, I admit that I really like this side he has and it makes me very curious and pushes me to give him a little, just little chance to let him approach me but I refuse to give him this opportunity. , it could cause me other trouble that I could not bear. Maybe he doesn't even get angry just to please me because when you get angry, you don't control yourself anymore, you can say anything and it's only after the disappearance of anger that we realize the stupidity we have done. In any case, on this side, he always amazes me.
♦Brek: No, that's not it Rose. Let's talk seriously.
♦Me: Seriously? What can you say that's serious in your life apart from talking nonsense and making stupid jokes?
♦Brek: There you are right. I know I'm 100% the king of idiots, I make bad jokes, I say nonsense but when I tell you that "I love you", it's really a serious thing.
♦Me: Wait! What did you just say? Are you joking I hope?
♦Brek: No, I'm telling you Rose. You may not have noticed it, but I am in love with you.
♦ Me: (wide eyes) Hoo!!! In love with me?
♦Brek: Yes Rose and now I'm serious...
To be continued...😋
