Chapter 5 This isn't just Any bracelet

Daniel's POV

"This is not the End" I heard him yell, outside the door.

I finally heard his retreating footstep,I smiled and sat on my bed.

The small framed picture beside my bed caught my eyes and I picked it up staring at it fondly.

They are my guardian angel and I know they're still protecting me .

"I miss you so much Mom, dad" I whispered after staring at it for a little more while ,I returned the picture frame to it's initial position and sat more comfortably on the bed

I placed the two slices of bread I grabbed from the table on a piece of paper beside the frame and reached for my bag.

Immediately I picked up my bag something fell from it and bent to look at what it was.

It was a bracelet, I picked it up slowly.

It isn't an ordinary bracelet, it is the friendship bracelet I made for myself and Charlotte at the orphanage when we were still kids.

Staring at this bracelet every memory of Charlotte came running back.

*"Don't ever take our friendship bracelet off okay?!"* .

*"I won't take mine off okay, that way we can feel each other's presence"*

*"Wherever life takes us, one thing I'm sure of is that we'll meet again and be friends forever"*

*"I'll wait for you "*

After she was adopted I never heard from her again. She promised to visit , she probably came back but I had already been adopted. I just hope she's living her best life right now.

I slowly slipped the bracelet into my wrist and caressed it softly.

I raised my head and sighed deeply,

"This bracelet will lead us back to each other Charlotte!"

"What if she has forgotten about you" My subconscious reminded , I stood up from my bed walked to the window and stared out.

That's true , she was just a little girl at that time.

But I consoled my self with the fact that we had a strong connection and it cannot be forgotten easily.

Kathryn's POV

The crowd soon began to disperse , I made a lot of sales today and got huge deals.

Today is the happiest day of my life, I've never felt so fulfilled.

My money hasn't always been mine but now , I finally have my hard earned money.

Probably this would prove to Dad that I'm responsible and worthy to be called his daughter.

*"Our child died, is that enough reason for you to bring home the daughter of a stranger and without telling me"*

*"She has the blood of a peasant she can't amount to anything"*

*"Really?!, You got into a fight in school are you trying to tarnish my image"*

*"Just give her a chance you'll love her"*

*"Stop being so harsh, she's just little girl*"

I closed my eyes and sighed as those moments came back to my mind. Dad didn't want me the first time mom brought me home.

Mom told me that he was just destabilized because they just lost their child.

Seemed to make sense because with time he began to come around and actually be a father.

But there were sometimes I actually felt like he wasn't satisfied with me like he expected more from me.

Like he didn't want me. But I didn't care I worked hard enough to impress him and make him finally say he's proud of me and it worked!!.

"Sweetheart" I heard my mom voice beside me touching my shoulders , I jerked back to consciousness and turned to her with a smile.

"I'm super proud of you sweetheart" she said staring at me admirably.

"Thank you Mom" I said pulling her into an hug, I hugged her a little longer.

She's a very huge part of my success.

"I love you Mom" I whispered.

"I love you too honey" she said and we finally disengaged.

"So, we'll see at home?" She said and I nodded.

"Alright Mom take care" I said to her as she walked out.

"Bella" I called walking up to meet her where she was.

"I'll be going home soon, please help take care of things here okay?!" I said to her.

"Aye aye captain" she replied with her palm on her forehead saluting.

"Dramatic much" I thought inwardly rolling my eyes.

"Thank you for today Bes , I love you" I said to her blowing her air kisses.

"Is the almighty Kathryn actually saying thank you to me" she said gaping in surprise with her palms over her lips.

She reached into her pocket and brought out her phone.

She held it to my face.

"Can you say that again, I need to have evidences" she said and I released a small smile.

Right from when we were little children, we've always been word and opposite, Jessie was always the playful , social , down to the earth and funny one while I was, well, the opposite.

She returned her phone back to her back pocket and pulled me into a small hug.

"You're welcome best friend" she said smiling.

Moments later...

I sat quietly in the car, my driver was driving me home.

I opened my purse and brought out the bracelet in it.

It wasn't an ordinary bracelet , it was the friendship bracelet Daniel made for me.

*"Wherever life takes us,I want you to keep this bracelet with you so you'll remember me"*

I caressed it softly as I remembered what he said to me the day he wore it for me.

I couldn't bring myself to throw it away, I threw away everything relating to my past .

But this, Daniel doesn't deserve to be forgotten.

I wonder how he's faring now, I just hope he's fine.

I caressed the bracelet softly.

"This bracelet will lead us back to each other Daniel!!".
