Chapter 4 Friends

"So, why are you here?"

I ask the brunette that stands in front of me. She's a little taller than I am.

I'm 5'3. She seems to be about 5'5.

Her plumped lips parted "The King seems fond of you and I uh well I was wondering if you could ask him if he could give me about three days off"

" Why do you need three days off? ,"

" My Brother fell ill and I would like to be there with my family to help out,"

I scanned her face for a while, and she seemed sad and desperate.

"Kimberly, you don't think it would be better to ask him yourself?" after all, she works for him and not me

" He won't let me?"

" Why? ,"

" I can only leave the Kingdom on holidays to be with my family."

"What kinda rule is that? "

"Will you ask or not?"

"sure that's if he'll even say yes. "

"he'll trust me," she says, a smile now plastered on her model-like face

" fine I'll go talk to him ," I sigh

I made my way to his office and open the door

And close it behind me. I turn around only to see the king making out with a petite blond who's seated on his lap. I blushed at the sight.

The king seemed to have sensed me being there because he stopped. "hi" he says, a smirk on his face

"I need to talk to you about something but I see you're busy"

I looked at the Blondie

"I could come back when you're done,"

"It's fine. Erika was just leaving,"

The blonde girl's eyes scanned my body, her face scrunching up with disgust

"So this is the human girl I've been hearing about?

She asks, getting up from his lap and walking over to me. She stops in front of me, her hands finding their way into my flaming locks.

"The rumors are true, a rare beauty indeed. It would be such a shame to ruin such a pretty face," she says, touching my face, her sharp fingernails slightly sinking into my skin.

"Don't touch her Erick, please leave. I'll call you tomorrow. "

"fine,see you tomorrow baby,," she says and Left

"What was that? I didn't know you had someone. "

I say, taking my seat

"what are you here for?" he asks ignoring what I just said

"Kimberly the maid, she well, her brother fell sick, and she was wondering if you'd give her 3 days just to go be with him and her family"

He seems to be thinking for a while

"no,"

"no?"

"Okay fine, 2 days"

"2 days? The least you should be giving her is a week. Her brother is sick,"

"Who's gonna take care of you when she's gone? "

Is this guy crazy?, what makes him think I need someone to do that?

"I'm not a queen or something. I can take care of myself, plus there are other maids. "

"You live in a kingdom, sweet baby. How else do you expect to be? treated, and Kimberly is the only maid I trust to be around you."

"Please, just give her a week. I'll be fine. "

"Okay then, a week it is. "

I was so pleased that he agreed to give her a week that I jumped up from my seat and lash over to him, hugging him tightly. He tenses for a while before relaxing. I'd be lying if I said. It never felt good. My body pressed against his hard chest.

he rests his head in my neck and sniffs me, " you smell so good "

' um I'm gonna go tell her now "

"Thank you very much, Tylor,"

"Anything for you, sweet baby. "

I pulled away from him and hurried back to my room, happy to tell her the news

At least she has a family. I have none.

"What did he say?" Kimberly asks eagerly as soon as I enter the room, frightening me a little.

An idea popped into my head

"I'm sorry, but he said no,"

Her facial expression changed from a curious one to a now sad expression

" I'm sorry, Kim. What are you gonna do now?"

She takes a seat on my bed, looking like she's about to cry

Before she did, I part my lips

"I'm just kidding, Kim. He said yes and not only that, he gave you a week,"

She slaps my arm playfully and I laugh

" Thank you very much. God bless you. "

She says, hugging me tightly before pulling away

A suspicious look on her face

"What?" Why is she looking at me like that?

"What exactly did you do to get him to give me a week?"

" Nothing. Why do you ask?"

"you kinda smell like him,"

"yeah I just gave him a hug. "

"if you say so,"

" it's true all we did was hug ,"

She raises her hands

" fine soon to be Queen ,"

" I'm sure Ericka would say otherwise ,"

" that bitch ,"

" Wait, you know her? "

" Yes, not very found of her,"

she says as she takes up her bag from off the floor before giving me another hug.

": Thanks again friend, I'll see you soon,"

"You're welcome, friend?" I say, unsure.

We both laughed and she Left

I've never had a real friend, much less a vampire friend. This should be interesting.

When she was gone, I checked myself and she was right. I do smell like the King. A blush rose on my cheeks. He smells so. good, he's like the perfect man, Mesmerising eyes, striking features, a well built body and not to mention his soft dark hair that I would love to run my hands through.

I slap myself. I shouldn't be thinking about him like he's a King plus he has a girlfriend

Jealousy rose in me as I thought about her. Why am I jealous of her?

Am I developing feelings for him?. I mean, I feel this weird attraction, but feelings? that's impossible. I've only known him for a short time.
