Chapter 4 In the Store room

Anna moved back immediately deceitfully while they were still approaching her. She threw the knife at one of them who caught it right before it could meet his eyes. Scared to death, she scurried away running far from there. She got confused at a point that she didn't know where to go from where she had found herself.

Their footsteps were coming nearer so she panicked the more. She was still in a dilemma on whether to take the stairs or hide by the pillar there only for a hand to grab her. She couldn't let out a scream at that moment as he already had her mouth covered with his palms.

There, She struggled till she found out he had pulled her into the room there for her own safety. It was the store room as she had seen.

She turned to face the person that had pulled her in here. From the outcome of things, she recognised him as the guard from yesterday. He was putting on a gray tanktop on blue pants. His muscles popped in view for his sexiness to fully exude. This guy was perfect.

"I'm sure he has sexy abs" She thought shamelessly till she was pulled out of her thought by his laughter.

'Oh my goodness I have just said it out loud' She got ashamed and hid her face in her palms.

"I wasn't talking about you" She defended herself. She was seriously making a fool of herself the more.

"So Mitch likes you"

"That guy is sick. I haven't met him before. You know what? Guys are always after the girl's body. He is just like them. Don't even think I will exclude you but still thanks for saving me from those idiots and don't expect us meeting alone like this again"

She tried to leave after saying that even though she had her fears. The guys would definitely come for her.

"You can stay back if you are scared of them. If you believe I want your body, I could leave" he said

"No you can stay back. Even if you try nonsense I could easily whack your head with that" she pointed at the flower vase in the store. The store had old paintings too. Paintings of animals, royals from history....and so on.

She picked one up and admired it with a smile. Ever since she had her pet cat, she had loved paintings a lot and seeing a peaceful cat drawn on it was totally peaceful.

"You love paintings?"

"Hm" She nodded.

He left where he sat and came closer to her. The sudden movement caused his body to brush hers giving her goosebumps. She was flustered in turn. The guy was closer to her that was why. He picked up the paint on the floor there and sat back.

"Do you mind if I paint you in a sitting position?"

"I would love a painting of me but I have a question first" He looked up from the canvas.

"You are a guard but I don't find you doing your job. We are both in here and if you paint my portrait, wouldn't your boss misunderstand?"

"I was given the day off so now can I start with the painting? Take a good position"

"Okay" She sat down properly and posed like she was looking elsewhere with her right hand on her jaw. This was the pose she had seen on the TV before. She noticed he hadn't picked up the brush and became worried. Just when she thought of turning to face him, he picked the brush. She sat there just like that taking her time looking at the store properly. This house was too good to be true. She had almost gotten lost the night she went to the garden.

After an hour, he was done with the painting. He told her to face him while he stared at her and then the painting. He seemed to smile on seeing his artwork. Curiousity was eating her up already. She wanted to see what he had painted of her.

"Let me take a glance too" She stretched out her hand o

right then but he was quick to withdraw the painting from her hold. It certainly looked fishy , had he painted her starkers or was she ugly in the painting? She stood up with the hope of grabbing the painting forcefully. A hint of victory gleamed on her face when her hand grabbed the painting, likewise the shock that it turned into when he pulled it off her hold making fall on him right in his open arms.

She felt warm, her heart beating so fast. This feeling was weird, though she tried enough to stand up and ended up falling on him again.

"Clumsy" he murmured.

She heard that clearly. Quickly, she stood up immediately adjusting her loosened hair. Where was the hair band? She couldn't even find it.

He waved the hair band in front of her so she could try to grab it. The guy was weird since he thought it was time for playing. She sighed and made way for the door. He didn't even bother stopping her so she continued till she was out of the room. Her heartbeat came to normal after the small incident that transpired in there. To think she blushed when she was in his arms.

"Anna, don't get flustered. That guard is just like his master. He may be looking for a way to do something bad to you" She told herself. But why had she being stupid? Letting him hover around her?

"Pttf! Day off? Isn't he supposed to spend it out? I think the boss is cruel on him too"

She kept on looking around till she bumped into a maid. The maid was holding an empty ash tray. Anna sighed in relief but not without saying 'sorry' to the maid.

"Please where can I find the room where I'm supposed to be? The girls' room?"

"......."

Anna asked the same question over and over even when she was still given the same silence . The guard came right then to help her out.

"She's dumb. Ellie just go" the guard said. Ellie left suddenly while Anna wondered why a pretty girl like her would be dumb. It wasn't fair enough because she was too beautiful to be dumb.

"Let me walk you to the girls' room" He offered. It was nice of him but what would everyone think so too? What if they misunderstand and conclude she was dating the guard?

'Oh Anna stop thinking of rubbish'

She nodded and he followed till they got to the hallway where he stopped and pointed at the right door. She smiled and thanked him before plodding away.

Shortly after standing there, a guard ran to him. He turned to find out that the guard had been running obviously with something important on his lips.

"Sir...I've got a report" the guard said before he looked at the door for the last time. He followed the guard away to hear what he has to say.

Anna entered the room, shutting the door behind her. Several colors of eyes stared back at her. She surprisingly slumped on the floor in front of the door. It was Winnie that was quick to tell she was absolutely tired.

"You were hiding for so long that we even got worried. Some of us almost got lost in this mansion."

"Is this how these guys are? I said no to his stupid confession. Mitch or whatever he calls himself, I...." Someone cut her short immediately. It was the lover girl.
