Chapter 4 Fight Back

When Rachel raised her head, she caught sight of Victor's aloof face. Rachel froze in her tracks.

"Mr. Sullivan." Ivan was the first to react, bowing his head respectfully.

"Rachel, it seems that you've forgotten what I told you this morning." There was a warning dangerous in Victor's eyes, and he sounded ill-tempered.

The second she saw him, Rachel thought of how Victor choked her this morning. She trembled with fear, this fear came from the bottom of her heart.

Standing in straight and alerted, she said, "No, I remember. So I'm leaving."

"Oh, you do? Then why the hell are you still here?" Victor asked, striding towards her.

Rachel kept pacing backwards until her back was against the wall. She closed her eyes for a second and then braced herself to look into his eyes.

"You should ask Alice. I was about to leave, but she made excuses to stop me and delayed me. That's why I..."

Rachel was half-way to finishing her explanation when Alice suddenly interrupted her.

"Rachel, how could you lie like that?" Alice retorted with tearful eyes.

"I'm not lying!" At this moment, Rachel was cursing Alice in her head. If it weren't for this woman, she would've left half an hour ago, and she wouldn't have run into Victor.

Damn it.

As if Alice was about to break into tears, she added, "Victor, I didn't mean to delay her. Her behavior today is really suspicious, I'm worried she might steal something from you. You know she's always good in lying. She must have some nasty ways to pester you again..."

Alice's words reminded Victor of everything that Rachel had done, making his face more gloomy, "Do you honestly think I won't kill you?"

All of a sudden, he strangled Rachel with his hand, slamming her head against the wall. The pain coming from the back of her head made her dizzy.

"S...Stop!" Rachel called out with difficulty.

"How dare you test my patience over and over again?" said Victor.

Rachel tried to pull his hand but failed. She couldn't break free from Victor's grasp at all as her breath became harder.

Upon seeing the situation, Ivan decided to intervene. He hurriedly stepped forward and said, "Mr. Sullivan, if something happens to Mrs. Sullivan, those ones in the board of directors might take advantage of opportunities to against you again. If that happens, your plan of concentrating equity will be hampered."

"Don't lecture me to do things!" Victor roared. His fingers that were gripping Rachel's neck turned pale because of how strong he was gripping on her.

Ivan didn't dare to say more. He took a step back and bowed deeply.

'I can no die!' That's the only thought in Rachel's mind in that very moment.

She used the last of her strength to pull Victor's hand away a little and said with great difficulty.

"I'm still your wife right this moment. If you killed me, then I'll die as your wife and tagged this title forever! Do you want that?"

Gradually, Rachel had no strength to struggle. Little by little, she could feel her consciousness slipping.

"My wife? Dream on! I'll feed your corpse to the sharks and never make you have a chance to enter the Sullivan's family cemetery."

Rachel felt her life was losings by seconds and even vaguely sees her scumbag ex-boyfriend's face who killed her and his bitchy mistress. She gave Victor a sarcastic smile.

"Why are you laughing?" Victor asked.

"You can ask me to leave when I'm alive. But all of them would force you to accept me as Mrs. Sullivan if I die. It'll never change. Didn't you hate me the most? If I could not be your wife, it's not bad to be a ghost of Mrs. Sullivan, isn't it?"

Rachel coughed in pain, and tears rolled down her cheeks.

Victor suddenly let go of her, and let her fell in ground.

"Ahem! Ahem!" She coughed violently and gasped for air, breathing with so much difficulty.

Ivan glanced at Rachel secretly and lowered his head to report Victor, "Mr. Sullivan, it's all my fault. I didn't make her leave in time. I deserve the punishment."

Victor didn't give any reply. And Rachel coughed some more then she spoke after she got back her voice but still in hoarse, "I didn't take anything that belongs to you."

Victor took out some wet wipes to clean his hand that had touched Rachel. Disgust was evident on his face.

"You didn't take anything? How about the clothes you took away as well as those your wearing now? They cost my money. "

Rachel pursed her lips, unable to refute his logic. On her wedding day, Alice had burned all the clothes that Rachel had brought to this mansion. She excused that those clothes were all in poor taste, and Victor won't like them.

"Take off her clothes and throw her out!" After saying that, Victor left along with Ivan without hesitation.

Only when those two had left did Alice get up and walk towards Rachel. Her previous faking tenderness had now disappeared.

"See it? You married Victor and slept with him, but so what? In the end, you still have to get out of the house with nothing! Do you really think I asked you to wear heavy makeup and put on weight because Victor likes it? This is hilarious. I can't believe you actually believed in that. No man will ever like a fat and idiotic woman like you! I just wanted him to hate you even more!"

Looking at the smug Alice, Rachel really wanted to help the original owner of this body to tear up her hypocritical and delicate face. But she couldn't take any move right this moment because of the hurting wounds on her body everywhere.

"Huh! You're so pathetic. Poor your stupid." Rachel chuckled, enduring the pain.

"What did you say?" Alice's eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't expected that Rachel at such a time wasn't crying and being a desperate loser, but was staring at her with a look she couldn't read.

"I said," Rachel took a deep breath to alleviate the pain in her chest. "You are living a miserable, ridiculous life. You're the most pathetic person I've ever met! Being called a bastard must make you feel inferior, doesn't it? You've been trying your best to steal everything I had since we were kids, because I'm the Bennet family's legitimate daughter, and you're just a dirty little illegitimate of a mistress. You're jealous of me, but you'll never get the respect from others!"

"Bitch of you! Shut the fuck up!" Alice screamed. It seemed that Rachel had struck a sore spot.

Rachel grinned and continued, "These past two years, I trusted you, and yet you deceived me by taking advantage of me to draw Victor's attention. You fooled me into doing stupid things in front of him. At first, he didn't feel anything for me, and then he began to hate me and deeper. You must be proud of it. Right?"

Alice clenched her fists, looking at Rachel with hatred. "Well, you should blame yourself for being so stupid! Now it is too late to be realized."

"You're right. That Rachel was silly. You don't deserve her kind." Rachel admitted.

Alice didn't think much of her words, "What do you have to be proud of? You are no longer the Mrs. Sullivan. Also, Victor's grandmother is dead now. There is no one would at your side ever! If I were you, I will kneel down and beg me for a favor to persuade our father to let you go back home!"

When Alice mentioned Victor's grandmother, a hint of sadness came up to Rachel.

Victor's grandmother was the one who chose Rachel to be his wife. Not long after she married into the Sullivan family, the old lady died of illness. His grandmother used to be Rachel's protector when she was still alive.

"Alice, do you think you'll be able to marry Victor and share the Sullivan Group with him after he divorces me?"

"Why not?" Alice replied proudly.

"No. You can't," Rachel said in a weak, yet firm tone. "Why are you so confident that Victor will agree to marry you? Just because he's also an illegitimate child, you think you're the same?

No. That's ridiculous. Your mother is a mistress and stole men from their families! Victor was not born in this dirty way. His mother got him before his father even got married. And his mother never breaks up a family!

With that, you will never deserve him! You dirty illegitimate of mistress." said Rachel.
