Chapter 2 I'M 23

"Pardon?" Irish asked

Jake covered his laptop and looked at her again

"You're fired" he repeated

"But.. why?" She asked and Eric gasped

Did she just say why?? This girl sure have the guts. He looked at her and couldn't help but feel sorry for her

"Why?, You have the guts to ask me why??, You came late and you still wanna work here, well no but it's not qualified" he replied

"I... Sir I came late today for a valid reason" she tried defending herself

"I'm listening" he folded his hands together as he stared at her, the stares he's giving her just sent more chills down her spine

"I...my dog, I had to take him to the hospital around 6 and...and.." as she's talking she saw him covered his nose

"What's wrong sir?" She asked

"Your breath, it's really bad did you brush this morning?" He asked

"What are you talking about I... I...." She paused and blinked severally

"I had to rush here after taking my dog to the hospital so I forgot" she said lowly

"How old are you?" He asked

"23" she bit her lips

"23??, How can a twenty three forget to brush?" He asked

"I didn't do it on purpose I just didn't have time" she pouted and eyed him

"You should be ashamed" he shook his head

"It's not really my fault I didn't even wear makeup, I promise not to be late tomorrow" she pleaded

"Too late, you're fired" he repeated

"But..

"Sir..

"Fired"

"Fine!" She snapped and scattered his desk

Eric gasped and immediately looked away when he saw Jake looked at him

"You can leave now?" Jake said calmly

"Jerk" Irish scoffed and left

Once she came out, Kaylee stood up from her office and rushed to her

"How did it go?"

"Look at my face and tell me how it looks like?" Irish faced her and frowned

"It looks frowny" Kaylee replied

"Good now ask your question again" Irish said

"I'm sorry babe maybe next time..

"They will never be next time, I'm fed up!" Irish yelled and rushed out

"Baby" Kaylee called and looked at the direction of Jake's office that's just opposite hers, his glass cover is opened already so she can see him working

"As much as I love you,I hate you for not giving her a chance" she pouted, then he raised his head up to look at her,their eyes met and her heart skipped lots of beats

"His eyes are so beautiful, I lied I don't hate you instead I love you so much, really much my handsome fallen angel" she muttered, holding her chest and feeling her heartbeats

"Shouldn't you be working?" He asked and she came back to earth instantly

"I'm sorry boss" she smiled and rushed to her office then faced her laptop, mentally cursing herself.

Reaine's Elementary School**

"That's correct everyone a round of a plus for Terra" miss Raspen smiled

The whole students clapped for the little girl named Terra as she went to her sit

"Okay that's all for this activity, we have another activity coming up right now" miss Raspen said and took the marker

"Each students will come tell us about what they did with their mom last night" miss Raspen smiled and began writing students names on the board

Jenna facial expression changed immediately, she began sulking

"Miss Raspen, you made a mistake" Owen shouted

"Yes Owen?" Miss Raspen turned her head from the board to the little boy

"You added Jenna's name on the list" he said

Miss Raspen looked at the board and smiled awkwardly

"But there's nothing wrong with it, Jenna is a student here so she must...

"Jenna doesn't have a mom" Terra cut miss Raspen off

"Oh dear how can you say that, Jenna..

"She's right miss Raspen, ion have a mom" Jenna said sadly

"Don't be like this Jenna, everyone has a mom but yours is right with you, you might not be able to see her but she's with you" miss Raspen just had to say anything she could to confront the little girl

"Yeah, our mom is at home and we can see her perfectly fine.. miss Raspen let me go first" Owen smiled

Miss Raspen looked at Jenna and Jenna smiled a little

"I'm fine" she muttered

"Okay Owen come say your story, tell us what you did with your mom last night?" Miss Raspen asked

"Last night, me and my mom baked cookies together, my mom thought me how to cut it into a star, mummy cookies is so yummy that my dad licked the plates over and over" he said and they whole class laughed

"Me next me next!" Terra raised her hands and ran to the front of the class

"My mom bought me a new swimsuit, she thought me how to swim, last night I and my mom swam together till 11" she said

"That's nice Terra who wants to talk next" miss Raspen asked

Several students began rushing out to talk about their mom, Jenna could handle it anymore so she rushed out of the classroom in tears

"Jenna" miss Raspen called

"Jenna" Noah, her male friend shouted and ran after her, he met her sitting by the stairs and crying

"Jenna" he called and sat next to her

"Noah" Jenna cried and hugged him tight

"Noah I want to have a mom like others, I wish to have a mom, I just want a mom that'll teach me how to swim and how to bake cookies and do many other things" she cried

"Shh, Jenna remember what miss Raspen said, we have a mom but you can't just see yours" Noah said

"But I wanna see mine, you do see your mom right?" She looked at him and asked

"Yes I do see my mom" he replied

"Tell me what your mom did with you last night?" She asked

"It's nothing" he smiled

"Noah!!" She hits him

"Fine fine, my mom and I watched movies together, she downloaded SpongeBob SquarePants for me in her laptop and it was fun" he replied

"See I want that too" she cried again

"Shh, don't cry anymore Jenna, don't cry anymore" he patted her back.
