Chapter 5 The Kiss

Jordan hastily ordered as he pulled Raven away from Chad's arms.

He then lifted her up and carried her in his arms. Everyone present was stunned at the sight before them. All except for Senior Choi, who had already expected something like this to happen.

"Son, you're here early," the old man commented. "I thought your flight is tomorrow morning?"

Jordan stopped and looked at his father. "I told you not to let them stay up too late," he grumbled out as if giving him a lecture before walking directly towards the villa.

Silence settled as Jordan left with Raven. Looking at her watch, Nanny Rong raised an eyebrow at the time. 'It's just half past ten in the evening. Is that considered late now?'

With a shrug, she shook her head as she quickly followed Jordan to show the way to Raven's room. Catching up to them, she was about to speak when Jordan cut her off.

"I got this, Nanny Rong. You can leave," he said just after the older woman opened Raven's room for them.

Seeing that there was nothing more to be done, the nanny nodded and left.

Inside, Raven wearily opened her eyes, only to see Jordan gently putting her down on the bed. Feeling dizzy, she sleepily closed her eyes again, electing to ignore what she just saw.

Above her, Jordan could only stare at Raven as she soundly slept. The girl was indeed very pretty, with her long curly eyelashes, prominent eyebrows, pointed nose, and pouty red lips.

However, her cheeks were currently glowing red, possibly due to all the alcohol.

He let out a frustrated sigh...

He was around twelve when he first met Raven. Her father was their family lawyer and a close friend of his father.

When Raven's parents died, his father took her in and it was alright with him.

Years passed by and his father asked him about his take on adopting Raven legally as his father's daughter and his sister but he firmly refused.

Jordan shook his head, recalling how he even threatened his father that if Senior Choi would pursue adopting Raven as his sister, he would leave the house.

He had nothing against Raven being in their family at all. He also wanted his father to give her a good future under their wing. He too, wanted what was best for Raven.

Still, he did not know why he acted like that when it came to adoption talks, but eventually, he understood his feelings well on why he did not want her to become his sister even by name...

Another frustrated sigh came. Raven was only seventeen now and he was already twenty-seven. He wondered how long he could wait for more.

It was tormenting, but Jordan knew he should be patient since his intention was pure. He would wait till the right time came.

Ah, but it was way too hard to keep his cool, especially when many men were roaming around Raven!

Absently, Jordan touched her cheek as he slowly bowed down to kiss her.

Then, his gaze shifted towards her inviting lips.

He gulped. Just looking at them didn't seem to be enough. No longer having the patience to control himself, he finally kissed her right on her lips.

At first, he only intended to give Raven a slight peck, a chaste goodnight kiss just before he left.

However, she suddenly opened her sealed lips against his, which only drove him crazy as he deepened the kiss. It felt like an eternity, one full of intense emotion and passion.

It was then that the sound of the door screeching open alerted him out of his reverie. 'Crap! What a stupid thing I have done!'

Thinking fast, Jordan moved to get up, only to freeze again as he took one last look at Raven.

Her eyes were open! Jordan was in a panic and didn't know whether to speak up.

But Raven just raised both of her hands up to him, holding his face still as she looked at him intently. She then pinched and stretched Jordan's cheeks left and right with a crazy smirk.

"Huh? Woahhh... What a nice dream! I can't believe I'm dreaming about him..." she deliriously mumbled out. "I should add a slap instead. Hehe..."

She then closed her eyes once more, falling into a deep slumber.

Sighing at the close call, Jordan let out a breath of relief before getting up. "Goodnight, little Raven."
