Chapter 1 Bought.

Ava's POV.

I sat down in my cage, looking around as the pet store master lashed out on one of the humans in the pet store.

I had so much hatred for vampires at this point. They took me away from my family.

"Take your food, you filthy human!" The pet store master said, as he threw my food on the ground.

I looked at the food and kicked it away. I was tired of being locked up in a cage and treated like a slave.

"You ungrateful brat! Do you know how many stray humans are out there who are willing to give their all for this food?"

I looked away so that he'd see how much I didn't care.

"You've been so much trouble since you came here!"

"I am sick and tired of vampires. You vampires think you can do anything you want to humans." He raised up his hand, in an attempt to hit me with his whip.

"Do it! Isn't that all you know how to do? Beat humans up."

"You're lucky pet store masters aren't allowed to feast off the pets they're selling."

"I'm not afraid of you."

He didn't spare me after those words. He hit me several times and counting with that whip.

I was getting immune to his whip because there was no day I wasn't hit by him.

He finally ran out of energy and turned to walk away.

"Is that all you've got?" I asked, trying to intimidate him.

He raised his hand again, but this time I didn't want him to win. I grabbed the whip and pulled it, making him crash into the cage.

The other humans began to whisper around. I wasn't scared of vampires, neither was I scared of death.

He got up and walked away in shame, leaving me as proud as a peacock.

"How did you do that?" Cornelia asked.

She was also a pet in the store. We became friends since we were put in cages beside each other.

"I don't know, I guess I was just sick and tired of being bullied." I said, as I turned to see who had just entered the shop.

They were two female vampires.

"I hope we don't get picked." Cornelia whispered.

"What did you say?" One of them said, as they both came closer to her cage.

"I-I didn't say anything." She stuttered.

"Don't forget we're vampires. We can basically hear the tiniest sounds from a mile away." The other vampire said.

"How can I help you beautiful ladies today?" The pet store master asked.

"We'd like her." One of the vampires said, pointing to Cornelia.

"She didn't want to be picked, so we're picking her." I had to do something.

"I said it!" I lied, in an attempt to help her.

"Don't try to be a hero, we're not dumb. Besides, you're too skinny anyway." One said.

The pet store master put a collar around her neck, connected it to a leash and pulled her out of the cage.

"Noo!"

"Do you have a problem with that?"

"Yes, I do. You can't take her away!"

"And what can you do if I did?"

"I'll find you and kill you!"

"You filthy pig! You're just lucky there's a law protecting you, if not for that, I would have torn you into pieces! Neither do I want to buy you and kill you. That will be a waste of my money." she said.

"You better discipline this human." The other vampire said.

"I will." The pet store master said as he handed the leash over to the vampires.

Cornelia was gone and I had no one else.

I didn't realise I was tearing up till a stream of tears landed on the corner of my lips. In sadness, I crawled up into a ball in order to sleep. It was the only way I could escape from reality.

I woke up on hearing the door open. It was another vampire. It seemed to be a man, but it was night, so it was hard to see.

He walked into the light and his eyes landed on mine. He was the most handsome vampire I had ever seen.

I watched how his jawline was defined with his hair creeping down his face. He carried a cold look.

For some reason, I hadn't realised how long my eyes were locked with his. Quickly, I bowed down my head, hoping he won't come near me.

"How can I help you, my prince?" The pet store master said.

Prince?

I had heard stories about the prince, but I had never seen him before. I heard about how he was impatient and showed no form of clemency.

My heart began to race at those thoughts. A pair of feet landed right in front of my cage. They were his. I was too scared to look up.

"Let me see your face." He said. He spoke a little too calm for someone of his nature, yet I didn't want to let my guard down. I had to remind myself he was still a vampire.

"Didn't you hear what he said? I'm sorry, my prince, let me handle this." The pet store master said, as he picked out his whip.

"What do you think you're doing?" He asked.

"Making her obey."

"I'm taking her."

My heart began to race even more than before.

"I'm not going." I said.

"Don't try to act brave. I heard how fast your heart was beating when I said I was going to take you. You have no say in this." He replied.

"I said I'm not going." I said again.

"You see what I said. She's bad news, my prince. Look around, there are other humans. This one is just full of problems, and you'll have no peace." The pet store master said.

"I don't want peace. I want problems. Always." He quipped.

"Her mind is not sane." He said.

"I'm beyond insane."

"But my pr-"

"My answer is final." He said, cutting him off.

He put a collar around my neck and connected it with a leash. The prince made all the necessary payments, and took the leash. He tugged at the leash, as I reluctantly followed him to his car.

After shoving me into the backseat, he tied the leash to the front seat and he drove us away.

He pulled up at a very huge castle.

Two guards came out of nowhere to help him. "Don't touch her. She's mine." He snarled.

"All the guards and workers should meet me in my room in a minute." He said, as he tugged onto the leash and dragged me to his room.

His room was really huge and fit for a prince like him. In less than a second, there was a knock at the door.

"Come in." He scoffed.

Dozens of vampires entered the room.

"You called for us, my prince."

"This is my new pet. I don't want any of you to touch her, and I mean it. I haven't marked her as mine yet, but I don't care.

As you all know, I don't share. The moment I find a bite on her that's not from me, all your heads will be cut off - including the innocent ones. I don't care how thirsty you are on the full moon when you see her pass by.

Also, I don't want to hear any stories about how my other pet died because I don't care about her anymore. Understood?"

"Yes, my prince." They all said in unison.

"Now get out." They all scrambled out of the room like their lives depended on it.

"Follow me." He says sternly. He pulled me into the bathroom.

"Take everything off."

No man had never seen my nakedness, neither was I going to allow him to see.

"I'd rather you gave me some privacy."

He moved closer to me and I could feel some tension, but it was ephemeral when he grabbed hold of my neck with so much anger.

"You belong to me and I won't tolerate any form of disrespect from you. The fact that I let what you did in the pet store slide doesn't mean I'm going to condone this kind of behaviour.

I have no interest in a human, much less you. Now take them off!" He said, pushing me into the tub.

I had no choice than to take them off. I was gifted with bountiful curves and very sizable assets which I was proud of.

His eyes traced every movement I made making me feel so insecure. I don't know why what he thought of my body mattered to me. Finally, I took them off, making him take a long stare at my body.

I crossed my arms over my chest to prevent him from seeing my breasts. I heard him chuckle at the sight of that.

"What are you doing? Put your hands down."

I kept my hands there, paying no heed to what he said nor the warning he made earlier on.

"It seems you have a short memory, so you have forgotten the warning I just gave you." He grabbed my neck and squeezed it a bit tighter that before.

I realized I was going by the minute. Everything couldn't end like this? I hadn't yet experienced life. He let go off my neck and I fell into the tub with a loud thump. I quickly got up and put my hands down.

"Better."

He put on the shower and began to rub some soap in my hair. I couldn't believe the prince could be so gentle.

His hands were an anodyne. He placed the soap in my hands and allowed me to rub it all over my body.

I flinched as the soap touched my skin. I had scars everywhere.

"You were that stubborn to receive all those scars huh?"

I looked down in shame. He put on the shower and began to wash me off.

I watched how the water exposed my skin after being hidden by dried blood and dirt. My skin had become a little too pale. He took me out of the bathtub and allowed me to dry myself with a towel.

I stood in front of the mirror counting the number of scars I had on my back and arms. Most of them were unhealed. Now to the one place I was scared to look, my face, I watched how horrible I had become.

"You haven't seen your face in a while huh?" He said interrupting my moment.

"What's your name?" He asked, looking right into my eyes.

Anytime he did that, my heart did nothing than to beat faster.

"C-Call me Ava."

"I'm happy you're scared of me Ava and you should be, if you know what's best for you." He said, still looking in my eyes.

I totally forgot I was still naked. I didn't have any clothes.

"Here take these. They belonged to my other pet."

I wonder what happened to her, there's no doubt he killed her like how he's going to kill me. The clothes he gave me fit perfectly well.

"I'm not going to feed on you now because you're hurt all over.

Lest you forget, I'm not being merciful, I just don't want to kill you after the first time I feed on you. Understood?"

"Yes."

"I'm your master not your friend."

"Yes, master."

"Good, you can sleep on the cloth over there." I hurried over to the cloth on the ground and laid on it. He had a soft spot but tried to hide it.

As long as I'm not going to be killed anytime soon, I'm okay.
