CHAPTER NINE

LOVE RUN

THE BRAVES CLUB, 4:30 PM

"Yes, is Miss Stevens your new girlfriend, what's the relationship between you both?" Came the voice of another reporter.

"We need to know, why did she help you out and did you truly run her brother over?" A man in a black suit asked. The entire room became so noisy with the paparazzi taking photos and barking questions.

"Looking over at Robin, Andrew answered, "No, she's not my girlfriend, but she is indeed a very good friend of mine and is a new member of The Braves and as for running her brother over, it was all an accident and we have reconciled everything. I'll will answer no more questions from anyone, now the app launch will proceed.

The entire room fell silent after that and then the opening act which was a drama, telling the story of the new game, LOVE RUN was performed, but Robin's mind was not present there anymore, she kept wondering if Andrew didn't realize that by calling her a friend of his, the paparazzi would only interpret her as his girlfriend and there would be lots of rumours. She was also very happy about joining The Braves and their new game seemed really nice to her.

Andrew mounted the podium next to give a summary of what the game was all about.

"Ladies and gentlemen, as we all know, we are all here for the official launch of three new apps, the first being LOVE RUN, a new game created by me. LOVE RUN, tells the story of two lovers, a tourist photographer named Derek from London and a princess named Latifah from a kingdom called The Moba Tribe ( A.N: there's no place like this I just made it up. ^_^) They met after a festival in Latifah's town, where Derek was in attendance and fell in love with each other after dancing together during the festival. Now Derek has to return to London, but not without Latifah, so he asks for her hand in marriage from the King, but he refused and only agrees to hand Latifah to Derek if he is able to get two love plants from the evil forest, where no man has ever returned alive. The aim of this game is for Derek to go into the evil forest and get enough coins to get through levels and then at the final level which is level fifty, he will finally get the love plants. There are several obstacles in the form of monsters and evil creatures, guarding the forest, who have to be defeated in order to get past levels. As Derek ascends in the levels of the game, the difficulty increases. I will now play the game for everyone to see," Andrew said.

He took up his tablet and the media team projected the game on the large screen on the stage. The game booted with the opening music blaring from the speakers. Clicking on the story mode, a brief cartoon summary of the game was displayed and then he played the first two levels. After that the entire room fell into rounds of applause at how awesome they felt the game was.

The audience was obviously excited about the game and a guy in a charcoal black suit stood and asked to play, then others took turns playing and after ten others took trials of the game.

"The next game is also an arcade game called POLICE CHASE, this particular game was created by the executives of The Braves," he said and then explained what it was all about and how to play it. At this point Robin couldn't help but notice how passionate Andrew was about the apps he created, it was obvious that he put in a lot of effort in creating those apps and that it was what he truly wanted to do.

"The last app for today is called SAFE, it is an application targeted for teenagers and young adults. As we all know, our young people this days are usually very confused about sex education, for the girls who start seeing their periods, some don't have enough information about what it all means. Our youngsters engage in sexual activities and some don't even know how to prevent unwanted pregnancies or how to control their raging hormones. That is why I created this app which helps girls track their periods and offers adequate information on sex education and I believe this is a good guide for our young adults. Thank you everyone for coming, you are free to ask your questions and after that, the floor will be opened for dancing," he said and exited the stage.

The paparazzi immediately started firing several questions at him which he answered and after the question and answer session, Joe, Robin, Miller and Evans came up to him.

"Dude, you were on fire man, congrats," Joe said to which Evans added, "Yeah, you handled the entire Jenny issue so well and then you quickly got everyone's mind of it like it never happened, congrats. I know how much you've been working though out this session for this launch."

"Thanks guys, I'm really sorry for my behavior earlier today, I was just so mad and fed up with everything and you guys know that all the credit for discovering bluelines56 goes to Miller, thank you man. I never thought I'd say this but thank you Robin, you also helped out a lot and I'm truly sorry for getting you involved in all this," Andrew said while scratching his eyebrows, something he did whenever he felt remorseful.

"Oh forget it, we're all sorry too," they all replied while smiling.

"It's no problem, thank you also for admitting me into The Braves, I'm really happy about that and I think your apps are really amazing. I downloaded them and I'm certainly going to play the games," Robin replied.

"Yeah, yeah, come on let's party already, it's time to dance," came the voice of the MC which had the other guys and every other person moving to the dance floor with their dates.

"I'll take my leave now I need to get back to my room, thanks for bringing me here. I guess this is the last time we will see each other, bye then," Robin said as she turned to leave, but Andrew's voice had her halting in her steps.

"Ocean eyes, it seems you've forgotten that you're my date for tonight, at least let's dance together before we part, who knows you might just fall in love with me like Latifah did with Derek and then we'd be inseparable," he said with his million watts smile on display which had Robin's heart skipping a beat.
