Chapter 8 Hidden Talent Revealed

"In fairness~ That Rawbin guy's oozing with hotness!" Kale commented, to which Audrey and Kellen nodded incessantly.

"He seemed to like you, cuz," Kellen stated. "But you need to be careful. Lots of women are after him," she added as a reminder.

Lemon creased her forehead, unable to understand what she was trying to say. And Kale seemed to share the same confusion.

"Meaning?" he asked.

"Girls will be after your throat once Llamansares starts courting you," Audrey stated.

"Well, there's no reason for that. Rawbin's not courting me, and I don't think he will," then Lemon shrugged at them, trying to dismiss their thoughts.

"What do you know? No one can really resist our beauties~" Kellen responded, copying Kale's tone.

She chose to ignore it and just gave them a lazy smile. With the number of beautiful girls on the campus, she doubted he would even waste his time on her. That was just impossible.

When the bell rang, Lemon and her company exited the gym to attend their next class. The varsities were on break when they left, so they even waved at them on their way out.

"Lemon!" an unfamiliar voice called, and when she turned to look, she saw Rawbin running towards them.

She shot her brows up and was about to ask what he needed when he handed her the phone. "Can I get your number?" he asked.

Lemon glanced at Kellen as she recalled what she had told her earlier. But then Kale mouthed 'go,' so she took Rawbin's phone and typed in her number.

"Thanks! I'll text you ASAP so you can save mine," he said, smiling. Then he turned around and ran back to the court.

"See? I told you~" Kellen's voice was teasing.

"He's just being friendly," Lemon refuted.

"Sometimes, I don't know if you're just dense or you don't trust yourself at all," Kellen snapped, hooking her arm to Kale, and they both walked ahead of Lemon and Audrey.

Lemon shook her head and did the same to Audrey as they walked to class. Thankfully, they ended the day without any more trouble.

When Lemon and Kale went home, they went to their new house. A maid greeted them and took them to their rooms.

Tired of their first day, Lemon and Kale decided to sleep. However, when Lemon woke up, it was already the following morning.

Stretching her hand, she reached for her phone from under the pillow. She checked her messages and got two from Rawbin and one from the contact saved as IGNORE.

'Hi, Lemon! Rawbin here. Please save my number. Thanks!'

'No reply? See you tomorrow at school.'

'You're very pretty in your uniform. Hoping to see you every day. '

The message from the stranger sent creeps down her spine. Since the texter finds her pretty in her uniform, meaning the texter already saw her.

'Who could it be? Is he one of our classmates?'

She tried thinking of all the possibilities but couldn't pinpoint who it was. So, just like the saved name, she chose to ignore it.

She opened Rawbin's text window and informed him she just saw his message. She also apologized, so he won't think she was ignoring him. After that, she started preparing for school.

"They're not here yet?" Kale asked. He went to the cafeteria to get water while Lemon waited for the rest of the group under the shade of the mango tree.

It was Club Day. It was the day for Marians to recruit members for their respective clubs.

Before they went to their hangout, Kale signed up for the Dance Club and auditioned for the cheering squad. On the other hand, Kellen and Audrey attended the meeting for Spark, the school's paper, where they were editors.

Lemon wanted to sign up for the Dance Club. She wanted to audition for the cheering squad, too. But she was a bit scared she might get injured again, just like what happened to her back in France.

While waiting for their friends, Kale lay on the bench, using his bag as a pillow. Lemon lifted her feet and leaned on the tree.

"Lem, play some music first, just to lessen the boredom," he said, fixing himself on the bench. She gladly obliged and took out her phone to open the music player.

Lemon started singing along to Britney Spears' song. It was a bit old, but that is how she and Kale picked their music.

They don't always go for new ones. They listen carefully to the lyrics first. Most of the time, they pick songs that gave them the last song syndrome for at least two weeks and add them to their playlist.

She continued singing along, and Kale did too. They would sometimes stop and laugh at each other when he was out of tune, or Lemon forgot the lyrics.

"Wow, Partner!" Kevz exclaimed. Lemon knew it was him though she couldn't see him as he was the only one who called her that. "I didn't know you were hiding something precious!" he added, and Lemon creased her forehead. She didn't get what he said, but he smiled, "You got a golden voice!"

Lemon laughed at his comment and lightly tapped his arm, "Silly! Leave us!"

"Seriously, Partner, I'm amazed by your voice," he insisted.

"Seriously? Fine, fine! I'll treat you to lunch!" then she tapped his shoulder.

"No need! Instead of treating me to lunch, come with me now," then he grabbed her bag and pulled her up from the bench and away from it.

"Hey, where are you going?" Kale called after them, but when Kevz didn't respond, he quickly gathered his things and stood up to follow the two.

Lemon had no idea where Kevz was taking her, so she had nothing to say to Kale. Kevz kept dragging her until they were close to the booth of the Music Club.

They stopped not far from the booth, and Kevz left her. He approached Homme and Roj, who were busy entertaining a line of auditionees. Kevz whispered something to them, and they both looked up and waved at her.

"What's going on, girl?" Kale asked as he gasped for air. "You trashed my beauty," he whined.

"I've no idea! Kevz just dragged me here," she shrugged.

"Here, Partner, fill this up!"

Kevz handed her a pen and paper. The paper was a form for those who wanted to audition as the vocalist of OtoJam. She suddenly recalled they needed two vocalists for the group, a boy and a girl.

'Why is he giving me this?' "Are you asking me to audition?" Kevz quickly nodded. "No way! No, no way!" she refused, but he was just pushing the form back to her.

"What's that?" Kip asked after showing up out of nowhere. He pulled his cousin to where there was shade, and Kevz and Kale followed.

"Dude! Why didn't you tell us your cousin has a golden voice? We shouldn't be holding an audition now!" Kevz scolded Kip, who creased his forehead at Lemon.

"You can sing?" Kip asked, and she slowly nodded.

"Gosh, Kip! Are you really cousins? She's been singing since birth, and you didn't know?" Kale mocked him.

"I swear I didn't know. All I knew was that Lemon was part of the cheering squad back in France. She also did judo and swimming. But I never knew she could sing," Kip even raised his hand as he defended himself. He then snatched the form from Kevz and passed it back to his cousin. "If that is the case, sign this up. You can skip the screening," wiggling his eyebrows at her.

"I can't! I-I have stage fright! I'm not comfortable singing in front of a huge crowd," coming up with random excuses, Lemon refused to accept the form he was handing her. "I can't, cuz, sorry!"

In reality, all she was avoiding was the limelight. She didn't want too much attention. And that was unavoidable, seeing how popular they were in school. Not just in their batch but in higher and lower grades, too. Even in college.

There are three bands in SMU, but OtoJam has the most fans. They have tons of female fans because, aside from the fact that they were all good with their respective instruments, they were all irresistibly handsome too.

But they got tons of male fans, too. And that was because their former vocalist was a goddess. Unfortunately, the twins had to quit to migrate to the States with the entire family.

"Please, cuz! You're just auditioning anyway. Besides, it's just us there that time," clasping his hands. Kip even knelt in front of her to beg.

"Please, Partner, give it a try," Kevz urged.

"Please, Lem, say yes, or I'll start melting any moment now because of the scorching sun!" Kale added, wiping the sweat off of his forehead.

Lemon looked at them before letting out a long, frustrated sigh. "Fine! I'll fill this out. When is the audition?" Both Kip and Kevz jumped in excitement.

"Cut off for submission of applications and screening is at two this afternoon, then the audition will start at three, at the auditorium," Kevz explained.

She nodded at them before walking towards the nearest bench and sitting there. Then she started filling in the form, and when she finished, she quickly returned it to Kevz.

While waiting, she tried to think of what song to sing for the audition. Unfortunately, she couldn't think of anything.

Lemon decided to play roulette with her playlist later. Whatever lucky song the ball would pick, she will sing it.

Hopefully, it was a song she could sing, or else the guys would surely wring her neck.
