Chapter 4 Meeting the Band

As planned, Lemon and Kale went to the mall after the mass to buy their school supplies. They were busy picking out what they would need when Lemon's phone started ringing.

"Cuz, where are you? Done with school stuff?"

"Hi, Kel! Almost. Why?"

"Drop by the ice cream place. I'm with my BFF."

"Sure. See you!"

"Who was that?" Kale asked.

"Kellen. She wanted us to drop by the ice cream house."

"Sure, are you done? Mine's complete," he responded, showing his basket to her.

"Yeah, I'm good. I'll just come back if I need to buy anything else," Lemon replied then they walked over to the cashier to ring their items.

They looked around for the ice cream shop Kellen mentioned when they came out of the supplies store. Fortunately, they spotted it not far from the mall's entrance.

"Cuz!" Kellen called, frantically waving at them. She was sitting on one of the tables with an umbrella, along with a girl unfamiliar with Lemon.

"You look very pretty today! I bet you got enough beauty rest," Kale praised.

"I did!" Kellen exclaimed. "It's the first day of school tomorrow, so preparations need to start early, you know," she responded before turning to the girl beside her. "This is Audrey, by the way. She's my BFF and our classmate too. Aud, this is my cousin Leslie Monica and her friend Mikale," she introduced.

"Hi!" Audrey chirped, offering her hand. She looked rather cute with her curved eyes and thin lips. Just like Kellen, she got fair skin too, and a slender body.

"You can just call me Lemon," she told Audrey, smiling, as she returned the handshake.

Kale stood up, pressing his cheek to hers, "Mika or Kale will do. Anything but Mikale!" he reminded her.

"Do you guys want to check on Kip? He's at the billiard hall," Kellen informed them.

"Who was with him? I bet there are tons of boys there~" Kale asked excitedly.

"He's with his bandmates," Kellen's smile widened when she said that, and Kale quickly noticed.

"And you like one of his bandmates, am I correct? Your eyes sparkled when you mentioned it!" he told her. Without second thoughts, Kellen nodded in response.

"God, you're quick!" she even commended, and Kale nodded proudly. "I do like Homme, but I never told anyone, especially Kip. I'm sure he won't stop teasing me. If that happens, I won't be able to watch their practice, or they won't practice in our house at all," she explained.

"No worries, your secret's safe with us!" he replied, giving her a thumbs up. "Let's go?" Kellen nodded and hooked her arm on Kale's while Audrey and Lemon followed.

"You seem quiet, or you're naturally shy?" Audrey asked as they trailed behind the two.

"I'm a bit shy, sorry," Lemon responded. Audrey shook her head and hooked her arm on hers.

"I'm a bit shy too. I don't even know how I became friends with Kellen. She's Miss Congeniality, so sometimes I still question how we became best friends," she narrated.

"We're the same. Kale's like that too," and they laughed in unison.

It only took them ten minutes to reach the billiard hall, where Kip was hanging out with his bandmates. "Kip!" Kellen called to his twin, and Audrey's grip on Lemon's arm tightened.

"Why?" she asked in confusion.

"Uhmm... don't say anything, okay? I'm a bit shy when Kip's around," Audrey blushed, and Lemon couldn't help but smile.

"You like him?" She asked in confirmation, and Audrey lightly nodded. "Okay, we have our secret, too," Lemon giggled. Then they headed over to Kip and his friends.

"Hi, cuz," he greeted, kissing her cheek and turning to her companion. "Hi Aud!' he smiled, but the girl could only smile back at him.

"Who are they, Kip?" asked the guy with slanted eyes. His skin made him look like he was born from milk, and even glutathione would be ashamed. He looked more flawless than Lemon was.

"Oh, these are Homme, Drew, Roj, and Kevz, by the way," Kip introduced. "This is our cousin, Leslie Monica, fresh from France! But she's now enrolled at SMU, too. That is her BFF..." Kip trailed, unsure how he would introduce Kale.

"You can just call me Mika or Kale," he said, shaking their hands one after another.

They moved their hands to her after Kale, "Lemon," she told them timidly, returning their handshakes, one by one.

She even felt embarrassed as her hands started sweating. She didn't even know why or when, but she was sure it never happened to her before. Was it before the introduction, or was it because they were all good-looking?

If Kale were to pick one, he would have difficulty deciding. They were all tall, too. No wonder all of them were varsities.

Homme, aside from his milk-like skin and slanted eyes, also had two small dimples on each side of his lips. It made him cuter when he smiled.

Roj, on the other hand, has this natural brown complexion that makes him look manly. The same goes for Drew, who looked like he got a permanent blush on.

Kipper, Kevz, and Drew got darker skin than Roj and Drew, but all three looked very manly. Kip's eyes were rounder and softer compared to Kevz and Drew's. But Drew's nose was higher and slimmer compared to Kips and Kevz.

After the introduction, Kip pulled two chairs for Audrey and Lemon. While seated, Lemon couldn't help but notice Audrey's frequent glancing at Kip, and the same goes for Kellen with Homme.

At times, she couldn't help but giggle because of them. She felt like she was in a teenage drama with typical school girls who didn't want their crushes to know about their feelings for them while the boys feigned ignorance.

Busy watching the girls, Lemon didn't notice that someone was watching her too. She could feel his eyes on her, causing the hair on the back of her neck to rise. But when Lemon looked up, she didn't see who it was.
