Chapter 10 IS THAT REAL OR SHE'S PULLING AN ACT

CHAPTER TEN

FRED'S POV

I watched her walk out the room, Jeez, what has gotten into her. What's she planning this time around? Are they trying to disgrace me or what? Look at her acting so holy and innocent like she doesn't know what I'm talking of. I curse the day I met her. I just hope she's just joking and isn't serious about what she said. It all sounded like a big joke to me.

If this marriage doesn't hold it will be so embarrassing, cause we've sent cards, even the president was invited, not only that, the person which I'm doing this for would be so disappointed. I can't imagine the shock and pain on her face when I break the news to her. If they're using this to extract money from me, I don't care, I would give them all the amount they need. I just hope she wasn't serious. What if my rivals paid them to embarrass me like this, no I can't sit and let that happen.

I overheard some voices in the room, it seemed two people were in a great argument, I decided to eaves drop.

"Mum, you heard me clearly, I'm not marrying that guy."

"You can't do such thing." Her mum screamed at her.

"Well, who's gonna stop me? This is my life at risk here."

"How's it at risk? He isn't a criminal or is he?"

"I don't care if he is a criminal, that isn't my concern."

"Come on babe, your wedding us in four days time, how can you do this?"

"You know, sometimes I wonder if you're really my mother."

"How dare you?" She said slapping her.

"Wow, mum that's nice, I can see you've been blinded by money, don't worry I'm gonna leave and never return."

What! I said getting confused, wasn't this her plan all these while, but wait.... Mtcheew, I sighed as I walked back to my sit, pretenders, it's obvious they're acting this up, wait are they trying to look good? Well I've known them already and I don't care, I can't wait for the wedding to be over, she'd get it hot from me. Since she's using the accident to blackmail me, I also got what I'll use in black mailing her, I would have done that since so that all this madness would stop, but you can't eat your cake and have it. I'm gonna torment her so much.

My phone rang and the caller was none than my best friend.

"How's it going?"

"Crazy, guy these people are really crazy, you won't believe she said she wouldn't marry me."

"What!" He said yelling and laughing at the same time. "Why?"

"According to her statement, she said she can't marry a guy that doesn't love and value her." I said and we both burst into laughter.

"Right now, she's putting up a show with her mum, her mum is acting like she wants her to marry me, while she's declining. Its so funny, guy you're really missing out." The laughter he gave was one I won't forget.

"But wait guy reason this thing oh, what if they weren't acting and it was real? Has she ever acted seducing before?"

"Well maybe no, but I don't think it's real. Well she said something to me today."

"What is that." I guess this discussion had made his day.

"Well she asked if I find her irresistible."

"Guy, sincerely speaking you're making my day, you mean she said all those."

"Of course, but I don't care, you see this marriage it must hold."

"Alright, take care, your in-laws might want to speak with you." He ended it with a short laugh.

Will this get any better.

Some minutes later, Mrs Becky stepped out of the room with a fake smile plastered on her face,

" I'm sorry for wasting your time"

"Its nothing."

"I don't know what you said, but she's really pissed at you. I think you should go talk to her."

"Where's she?" I asked, I don't know what else I'd say.

"In her room."

"Can I come in?" I asked as her stood at her door.

"Go away!"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that okay, it was all a joke, I was just pulling your legs."

"Just go away, I don't want to see you."

"I'm sorry, I really am." I said sounding apologetic. "Can you please let me in."

"The fuck is wrong with you? Huh. I said go away, are you fucking deaf." She said screaming this time around.

"Fine, I'd go, but I hope you'd come around tomorrow for the photos." I said walking out.

I'm tired of this prank they're playing, I get it, I get it now, they're nice people. Its getting annoying already.

"Have you seen her?"

"Yes ma, I hope she'd be stable tomorrow so they we would go for our photos, Good bye." I said walking out.

"Take me to The cross street." I said nonchalantly to my driver, while my guards trailed behind me.

AUDREY'S POV

"Come on babe, stop crying look at you, you're so worn out. Please stop it. I don't like what you're doing. Don't worry, Mothers knows best okay, just let it go, you've got to let go of it."

" I can't, I don't think she's my Mum, a mother can't carry such atrocity on her daughter. She isn't my mum. "

"Stop saying that please, this isn't the end of the world. I could remember how you beat up that lady for your mum's sake, the Audrey I know can die for her mum, why this? This is nothing? Please don't do this to yourself."

"Can you hear yourself? Do you have to remind me of that? Death is something inevitable, you die and just go for eternity, I guess that's what they preach in churches right? But you see marriage, it's life, and divorce isn't my thing. I can't leave the first man that ever went down on me for another one. This is really bad. "

"What if he changes? You know it might not be actually love at first sight, but the two of you might be good later."

"So, are you trying to tell me that I should go ahead and marry Fred?"

"Yes, if that would bring peace in your home."

"You aren't a good friend nor have good advice. After all what I said you still got the mind to tell me to marry Fred? You must really be crazy." I said to my friend.

"What, did you just call me crazy?" She said staring at me with shock evident on her face.

"Leave my room. I wanna be alone." I know I've hurt her but I don't wanna apologies to her.

I watched her stare at me for a while, when she suddenly smiled at me.

"Come on bitch, I know you even more than you know yourself. I'm your friend for crying out loud. I know what you want and when I tell you it's gonna be okay, it will be." She said while I ran to her and wept.

"Gosh, baby girl it's okay. Now I want you to go shower, dress and look good. Tomorrow is your big day. You need to look stunning Mr Egocentric won't take his eyes of you and them you'd taunt him with that." She said while I laughed, it was funny hearing her call him Egocentric.

"I'm sorry, I really am sorry for calling you crazy and fake, you're the best, you know that."

"I know, no need to apologies, I ought to be your mum, she said while I stared at her with an unfathomable eye.

"So, you'd call him now and tell him you're ready."

"No! The hell I won't do that. It will seem I'm cheap and I'm going back to my vomit."

"So? What do you do now?

" He said he'd come by tomorrow hoping I would change my mind."

"That's nice, let your mum just put a call and inform him that you are ready for the photo shoot. Don't worry dear, it's gonna be alright."

"I hope so. Do you think I'd be able to cope over there?"

"I don't think but I know. You're a very strong girl. You can do it, in case he troubles you, you just show him what you're made of."

"I mean it now, you're such a bad friend, listen to your self." I says while we both went hysterical with laughter.
