Chapter 9 Tapas

Dana raised her hand over her eye from the blinding lights in the forsaken club. It looked more like a sty, she grimaced, her face morphing into a disgusted one. She pushed through sweaty, horny bastards grinding against each other. Dana found the situation rather barbaric. Who in their right state of mind rolls their bodies against sweaty people they didn't know. She sat on a high stool and asked for a beer. Not a drink she would choose on a normal day.

A man approached her, smirking, trying his best in the art of seduction. Miserable attempt. Dana scoffed and ignored him. His hurt ego forced him to grab her by the hair. Big mistake. Dana twisted his arm and bent it in a way it wasn't meant to. He squeaked only for a moment grabbing the attention of a few sober people and the bartenders.

"If you as much lay your hands on any other woman, I will make sure you don't own that little dingy." She said pressing his bent arm. The man nodded, his eyes tearing up a bit. Dana released the man from her hold and watched him scatter towards his friends with his tail between his legs. His head lowered.

Dana sighed, she grabbed the mug of beer and chugged it down her throat. Her face twisted into discomfort and distaste at the aftermath. She rolled her tongue, sticking it out her mouth for a moment. She then asked for another mug. The bartender glanced at her, deciding to keep his opinion to himself before he got what the fella did. He poured her another mug and set it for her. Dana was frustrated by everything, she was supposed to be working on the cases. Not sit by a bar and waste herself away.

No matter, she would need Phillip to speak well with their boss so that they are allowed on the case. Dana lived for such cases, she wanted to be the one to finally catch their bloody murderer. She wanted to watch him get tossed in prison and serve his sentence. If it were up to her, he would not be alive once he was caught. She downed her drink and quickly ordered another bottle.

"Careful princess, we don't want you crawling out of here." Dana turned to the voice, an annoyed look across her face. It faltered when she saw the source. The woman chuckled and took the stool next to Dana. She ordered a bottle of whiskey. Right after she was served, she glanced at Dana who was curiously eyeing her. Her perfectly drawn eyebrows raised, a smirk playing on her face. The woman spoke. "Honey? Are you okay?" She asked.

Dana almost slapped herself, she was checking the woman out shamelessly, lost. Her eyes had wandered over her body from the top of her covered head to her shoes. She wore expensively. Dana gulped, it didn't look like the dump she would find such a fine woman. Heck, she assumed she was the only woman in the dump. Thus her gobsmacked look.

"I'm Sarina. And you beautiful? What's your name?" The woman said holding out her perfectly manicured hand out for Dana. Dana stared at her hand, her eyes wide. Even her voice was beautiful, her hands. God! Her hands, Dana wanted to have them enveloped around hers.

She smacked her forehead causing the woman to chuckle lightly. Dana forced her hand out and shook hers gently but, firmly. Sarina smiled at her. Dana gulped, she could feel Sarina's stare even as she turned to the bartender to ask for another glass. Sarina placed her hand on top of hers stopping her.

"Whatever it is that is worrying you, honey, you don't need to waste it on alcohol. The headache you are most likely to experience in the morning will be enough torture." She smiled gently at Dana. Dana sighed and gave up on ordering more. Sarina bit her lip, her gaze not once breaking from Dana. Dana shifted uncomfortably. 'What is this woman doing to me?' She asked in her thought.

It had been long since she met someone as intriguing as her. Bold. It made her shudder in her cocoon, that she so well ensured would never blossom. However, it felt as though Sarina was breaking the walls hiding her, yet she had only met her.

"Well, as much as I love the staring honey. What's your name?" Sarina asked. Dana could have sworn she detected a bit of an accent from the woman. She sounded magnificent.

"Umm, Dana..." Dana trailed off. She bit her lip and rubbed her face with her hands. She was exhausted and the drink was starting to get to her.

"I'm assuming you are stressed about work. Ye?" She asked. Dana nodded her head, she would rue drinking that abundantly the following morning. She would be needed down at the station to welcome the new team and yet she would be hungover and probably starved if she woke up late.

"Let's grab you some water. Yes, love?" Sarina said and called the bartender asking for a glass of water. Dana sat back on the stool staring at Sarina carefully. She tried to read the woman but it was hard when she was more than tipsy. She watched Sarina pass her a glass of water. Weakly, she grabbed it and drank it all. Sarina chuckled, she leaned towards Dana and wiped water that had dripped down the side of her mouth with a napkin. Dana watched her carefully, the fragrance the woman wore flooded her senses. She was certain it was an Arabic perfume. Smelled nice.

She unconsciously smiled and bit her lip, "Do you want to get out of here? To my place?" She asked. Her previous nervousness was all gone.

"I thought you would never ask honey. Lead the way." Sarina dumped a few notes, covering both of their bills, and took hold of Dana's hand. Dana thought it wouldn't hurt to let herself go for once and just live in the moment.

Just across from where Dana sat, on the opposite side, to the couch area sat Stephen Curtis. A plumpy short girl with hair as black as his heart sat on his lap giving him a lap dance. "Oh, Dan. Do you want to take me somewhere isolated so I can show you how much I love men with beards? " She whispered, pressing her chest forwards tempting Stephen.

"Say, the women's bathroom. No one will bother us there." She smirked and grabbed a chunk of Stephen's bulge. He moaned at the contact and agreed, allowing her to lead him to the bathroom. It was not all clean but it would do to satisfy their lust.
