Chapter 3 Their Unwanted Arrival

The world was filled with scums like that man and Yvonne knew, all she hope was that whoever her husband was going to be will be nothing like him.

At the Restropia palace, King Julius the second awaited the news from his messangers as well as the arrival of his first son and heir to the entire kingdom.

The messangers were the first to arrive as they gave the good news to the king that Yvonne's father had accepted the marriage proposal, King Julius leaped with joy as he called for the Queen to join him in his celebration.

It wasn't long, Octavio arrived from his expedition and walked in to see his father on one foot, dancing and giving thanks to the gods. His smile grew wide as he witness such electricfying happiness that could be absorbed by watching the King.

"Father, I have returned" Octavio bowed to the king, interrupting them, he walked over to them as his mother the Queen couldn't wait to give him the news. "What's the celebration for?" He asked, a frown appeared on his face when he remembered passing the village and seeing how his people were being sold as slave just to enrich the Kingdom's treasury.

There was nothing he could do other than ride past, even as he was the prince he couldn't order that the suffering of his people be taken away but seeing as expensive wine sold in South was opened in a palace that couldn't even pay the wages of her workers hurt him dearly.

He too was a problem. The money spent to fuel his exploration was also from the treasury so why should he complain?

"You... You my son, we are celebrating you for you have brought back happiness into the kingdom of Restropia" King Julius said as he pulled his son into a hug, kissing both his cheeks.

"How father? How have I brought happiness to Restropia?" He asked trying to put the pieces together.

"Your wedding has been finalized, we leave for Aurelia tomorrow, we need to hurry, if we waste anymore time then we can't save our kingdom anymore" King Julius said leaving his son with both his brothers Daniel and Jasper, and also his cousin Trev.

Octavio was confused.

What wedding? He was sure that when he left the palace months ago he never ask for a marriage to be fixed, he wasn't ready!

"Congratulations Octavio" Daniel, Octavio's half brother said. " Our people will be blessed because of this union" he added.

" What union? I never asked for this.... And to who? That Aurelia princess" he said bitterly, he hasn't directly met her but had news about how she is. "What about my reputation? I am the flirt king for goodness sake, the destroyer of hearts not shattered, what will my beautiful maidens think of me if they hear that their beloved is to wed soon" he said selfishly, he wasn't thinking straight.

"Brother...." Daniel touched him but Octavio quickly brushed it off as he stormed out of the palace.

Despite his hate for not wanting to be married to a woman he doesn't know of and has nothing but a bad reputation, he too had had a fair share of her attitude even as he did not know, a rude brat he nicknamed the lady he met at Aurelia while he was just passing by, it was like they all share the same attribute in that kingdom.

Back at the Kingdom of Aurelia, the King had no clue what was coming to him as he had a meeting with six high chiefs of the kingdom to announce the marriage proposal gotten from Restropia the next day.

Just like him they had all scoffed at idea of marrying the princess into a kingdom that has no bearing.... A disgrace! they called it but they too had no other choice but to go with it.

As they discussed other topics concerning the well being of the Kingdom, a loud trumpet sound was heard from afar and was heading for the palace.

The sound which was called noise to he ears of the king and six high chiefs were all coming from the entourage brought by the Restropians followed by the Royal family carriages.

The King was furious, he hadn't asked that they come and even then they shouldn't have brought in such disturbance. His eyebrows furrowed as he ordered that the princess get ready to officially meet them.

A nuisance is what he called them, even as he forced himself to welcome them into his palace.

Yvonne locked herself in her room and had refuse to let anyone in even if it was Crystal her personal maid. She hated all this and besides she was shy to meet anyone right now though she didn't have to say a word, just like a statue she was expected to stay still.

Her thought had been that she would be given time to process everything not knowing that the day after she will be hit with this.

She climbed into her bed and slept off even on an empty stomach, she was willing to bear the pain.

For the next three days she stayed locked up I her room ad yet refuse to starve as Crystal brought in food for her in the night. The King saw hat he was putting resistance against this marriage and found it hard to convince her otherwise, her mind was made up.

Octavio on the other hand took comfort in the presence of beautiful maidens sent to attend to his needs. He was treated with so much care.... He was to marry the Princess after all. He of all people was more relaxed but dread the day he was going to meet the crown princess which was this very evening.

His father the King has brought up the idea of having a ball so as to introduce the crown prince and princess to the nobles, King Quezaca couldn't agree more.

He wanted to rub it on the faces of his counterpart that his daughter will indeed be getting married and debunk the prophecy made on her which said, "Remain ringless she is, prosperous shall the kingdom be. Cursed shall the kingdom be when power is transferred" the Oracle who had predicted this was killed by the king after he declared that his daughter mustn't get married.

What would others think? Was all that King Quezaca thought of the most and had ignored it, this was years back when Yvonne was only five, King Quezaca had forgotten about it and so would've been other kings who had witness that incident.

The news that Yvonne would be married after the Seventeen market days had travelled to kingdoms far and near, it was no surprise that kingdoms set out to attend the function tonight especially kingdom of Thorns which wasn't far from Aurelia.

Tonight set out to be the princess's nightmare.
