Chapter 3 2.

RUKH

We enjoyed a lot today. On Brittany's birthday, we committed the son of stealing and enjoyed our day, irony!

So stupid of ourselves that we enjoyed our day after committing a sin. I shook my head and kneeled down before covering my head with my white dupatta.

I started praying and asking for his forgiveness. I am truly sorry for what I did and what I do everyday. I never wanted to do it but my life made me do this.

My dad divorced my mother and I do not know why. It was when I was in her womb. She let me breath even though she wanted to die because of this heartbreak. She let me come into this world but as she was so weak, she died right after delivering me.

I was sent to an orphan and there the worshiper of true God raised me. They told me about how my mother died and my father divorced her. The lady who raised me knew about what my father did to my mother as the hospital held the record in which my mother registered herself as a divorcee. It was then I got to know my mother was an Indian and my father is an American college professor.

And at last when I was eighteen years old, I had to leave the orphanage. Just because of the orphan, I graduated but as the world asks for more, I did not get any suitable job.

For starting a business, I needed money but I never learnt how to spread my hands in front of anyone except God.

And then I met Brittany and William. Both are siblings and orphans just like me. Our lives matched with each other. They told me their father raised them after their mother died. She was sick and for her health treatment, they had to put everything under the government's custody for a loan. But as he could not fill it, they had to seal all the assets.

And when they do not have any home, they got me and we created a home.

Blade has another story. He was a drug addict and wanted to live alone because he was sick of his step mother. He told us she was good with him but he thinks that the lady wants to snatch her real mother's place.

When Blade met Brittany, he fell in love with her and the miracle was-he stopped consuming drugs. Look, this is the power of love!

And Sanjana? Her story is just like mine. The same happened with her mother and now she is with me. But unfortunately, the girl is uneducated. The orphan in which she used to live was so cruel that they did not let her educate. They wanted to teach her house chores and they used to force her to learn such things. When she could not bear this all, she ran from there.

She is not even eighteen like me. She is two years younger than me. And Brittany, Blade and William are three years older than me.

Thanking him again, I opened my eyes and removed my dupatta. Putting it on the bed, I walked out.

I reached the kitchen in which there was the dinning table but when I saw Brittany and Blade, I immediately turned away.

I flinched back when I heard a loud thud of a falling chair. I did not expect that. He must have got up so quickly from the chair that it fell down on the floor.

"Ah... I'm... I'm sorry-,"

"No, it's okay," I murmured, interrupting Blade and taking a deep breath. I then turned and saw both of them. Blade's face was red but Brittany looked so casual.

Oh yeah, I know Blade is a shy person but Brittany is bold. Sometimes he even kisses Blade in front of William. And now, it was me who caught them kissing but I did it accidentally, and I must praise you girl, you did not even blush?

"Look what I cooked and it's for you only, Rukh!" I looked into the direction in which Brittany pointed. My eyes gleamed when I saw roti with ghee and sabzi of mushroom. My lips trembled, moving downwards as I felt so overwhelmed. She made Indian dishes.

"For me?" I almost whispered, sitting on the seat, right in front of my food. Fresh saliva gathered in my mouth when I inhaled it's hot aroma.

"Of course! My sweety stole a car for me with an empty stomach!" she chirped and rushed towards me. She bent down slightly and hugged me dramatically. I accepted it even though I do not like drama.

"And this is my thanks," she said and moved like a pendulum, taking me in her arms.

"Okay okay," i managed to push her away, not harshly, but I could not wait to stuff my mouth with my favorite food.

William and Sanjana also arrived. We then started eating. They also ate Indian food. In the middle, I mentioned,"I'm going to meet John tomorrow."

"Sure. No problem." William nodded. Good! It is better if he does not object. John is my best friend and he lives in the orphanage. The orphanage in which I used to live.

John was a baby when I was ten years old there. Mother Jennifer said her mother was an alcoholic who did not want to raise the child and his father is no more.

I felt an attachment with John. I felt pity, no doubt but then I started treating him like my own brother.

Today he is eight years old and a smart student. He wants to be a lawyer and just because one of the best businessmen of America, Sanam Da'ud gives half of his income to such orphans, he is getting the best services.

And I am his huge fan. He is a great icon and I love how he cares for orphans and helps them with no greed and asking for something in return. Not even popularity! But as nothing can escape through paparazzi's eyes, they bark everything about Sanam Da'ud. He is a good man and I want to meet him someday.

Dinner was done and I went into the room. I removed my bra and wore a loose shirt with pajamas, only because I am never comfortable in a bra at night.

The next day, I said my prayer, took a shower, got ready and had breakfast before leaving for the orphanage.

"Rukh! I'll come to pick you up, okay? Just text me!" I heard William's voice from behind. I turned and nodded before leaving.
