Chapter 2 The Wedding Night

Which is to make Kelvin marry me

I heard that Kelvin opposed my grandfather's wedding proposal, coupled with the business union clause. My secretary told me that he got into a heated argument with his father when his own family pushed for it. When I learned of his adamant refusal, that really stressed me to the max.

Kelvin argued that he did not want to be tied to marriage with me, yes ME.

So I devoted myself to finding out about him. Luckily, after years of research on his company, I finally found that weakness of how to attack his own business and cripple it, which I relayed to my grandfather. Grandfather studied my discovery. I guess I really did it this time.

When my father relayed to me that Kelvin agreed to our wedding, I tapped my shoulders victoriously. Congratulations to me, I beamed with pride.

I got my trophy, my wedding trophy-the handsome CEO Kelvin Soong.

I know that Kelvin did not want to be tied to marriage with me, but my obsession with having him made me forgot that romance was not like picking flowers at the park.

Maybe my cute face was too readable as I gazed at my trophy of love.

People say that I am a picture of young beauty and sunshine, a woman in love. But there is one person whom I wished would notice all these, but alas, that person just ignored me.

But I am confident that my feelings would be reciprocated by Kelvin. After all, I am a well-sought lady in my own right.

Wherever I go, countless suitors pursue me, but I rejected them all-even the most handsome of gentlemen in our country.

The reason being, I ONLY wanted Kelvin Soong. No other man ever caught my heart and attention.

So when I walked beside him, my stomach was turning into knots. Especially when we reached the penthouse floor exclusive only to the newlyweds, the room where we would spend our first night as a married couple,

Unable to curtail my joy, I hid my face while I slowly dragged my long lacy gown and followed Kelvin, adoring his back all the time.

My lips trembled a little with that sinking feeling when Kelvin kept ignoring me, and did not even throw a glance in my direction as we walked to the elevator then to the VIP floor.

My mind must be full of thoughts about this wedding that I did not notice that Kelvin did not hold the door open for me. He just unlocked the electronic door, walked inside in a hurry, and kicked the door back to close it.

The door effectively bounced to my face. Kaboom!

Ouch! My bent beautiful forehead got hit by the door when Kelvin suddenly let go of the handle. Awkwardly, I frowned while I massaged my head. That was a nasty hit, the hard door against my soft skin. Where do I stand? There was a sudden throbbing pain on my head.

Achingly, Kelvin did not even bother to turn back even when I was certain he heard that "thud" sound. To my dismay, he continued to walk lazily inside the grand suite as if nothing happened. His eyes said what he was unimpressed by the elegant decoration surrounding the unique walls and fixtures.

He then continued to the master's bedroom, stepping carelessly on the rose petals at the soft carpet which should welcome the lovers' walk. The hotel staff prepared a romantic ambiance for the room that should be a sweet haven for the lovers. But at this moment, the smell of rose petals did not seem to invite any romantic aura at all.

Still rubbing my pounding head and dragging my heavy lacy gown, I threw a nervous gaze around, trying to hide my trembling hands that massage my bruised forehead.

Wounds or any injury scared me and two things now ached me, my head and my heart.

Still, my hand rubbing my forehead, I secretly looked at my ever so quiet husband. I, too, did not utter any word as I followed him, avoiding his gaze this time.

I always dreamed that my husband would sweep me off my feet like those in Kdrama and carry me to the bridal suite, with my arms wrapped around him. I dreamed that his tender affections would bring bursting stars on my mind, heart, and eyes.
