Chapter 2 Connel

None of us have found our mates and only one of us could shift into a Lycan or Dragon, the others were one or the other. Lachlan was a golden dragon with gold and green eyes. He's been waiting for 300 years for his mate, although he had found his but she was killed in our last war and that took him down a spiral end. I was the only one who could pull him out of his depression state. He did not mate with her as they just met during the war and she was immediately killed in front of his eyes and he in turn killed the human for revenge.

The twins have yet to find their mates as well, but they cannot decide if they want to share or have one for each of themselves. I tell them let the fates decide and go from there. Evander is like me and has not found his mate yet but has not saved himself for her. He's the one who likes to party and drink the finest liquors available. Evander and one of the twins are dragons the other, Dahman is a Lycan. So that leaves me, the special one who is both Lycan and dragon.

I do not understand why i was gifted with both 'friends' inside of me but I do know that they come in handy when fighting. If i cannot see what is ahead of me on ground I can always have Pen come forth fly around and look to see what we are heading into when we are fighting. I have to do everything I can to protect my people no matter who they are. I can also take some who are exceptional warriors that have weapons on Pen and I let them fight from the air that way, yet it puts me in danger but at least I can cloak us all and the rogues who are against us do not know we are there and can end the fight in no time. If I have to I leave my warriors cloaked and drop them in the middle of the fight to let them finish the fight then pick them back up

I am always looking for ways to improve our techniques to help us fight and save our lives and to protect us. I make sure that everybody knows how to fight and defend themselves from very young age to they can no longer do so.

I brought out of my thoughts when the gate agent calls for our numbered tickets to come stand in line while we get ready ready to board our plane.

"Excuse me sir but that is our seat, if you don't mind we will take our seat next to her."

"I am sitting here and will not move nor can you make me, dude." the rude passenger said.

"Please do not make this any harder than it can be, but let this gorgeous lady decide whom she would like to sit by."

"Ma'am who would you like to sit by you for the long haul?"

"Conall and Dahman can sit by me as well as their brothers. Does that answer your question?"

The disgruntled dude gets up in a huff and moves elsewhere towards the back and Conall and Dahman make their way to sit down by Dee. She was satisfied that she got to sit by them and not some stranger who did not care for himself and already had an attitude.

The three of them talked off and on during the flight until they landed in New York.

As we were walking to our gate I passed several beautiful women who all pined over us, non of us took any interest in them of course. When we came to our gate there weren't many sitting there but there was a smell of sweet wild flowers mixed with spearmint. I had to follow the smell it was too much not to follow it had my dragon-Pendragon and Lycan-Due are both screaming mate.

We walk near the female and they are screaming in my head as they make me look at her and there she is sitting with her computer in her lap typing or reading something, she looks up and smiles. She is a goddess, with bits of grey hair, very curvy woman and I look at her and say, "Mate" as she looks at me with those big beautiful blue eyes. I walk to her and she takes a deep breath and does not drop my gaze. I walk by and I could hear her say to herself "damn he smells good."

I snickered a little but Due and Pendragon are both begging to go and sit by her to get to know her. I tell them to calm down and we will do that in time. We have to see if she is on the same flight as we are and if not we will most certainly be.

We board the plane she was far ahead of us but I immediately sought her out. I had to sit next to her, smell her, touch her at least once. I longed to hear her talk, laugh, I needed more, no wanted more. Due found her and he was dancing in my head like no tomorrow. Pendragon was on high alert seeing there was someone else trying to take our spot next to our mate, he was not happy and wanted to turn and snap his head off. I had to tell them to settle down, we will get to her with due patience. Geez these two give me such a headache sometimes.

"Where did you learn to fight like that Dee?" Lachlan asks her.

"Oh brother, do you ever watch fights on pay preview?"

"No none of us do, but we know all about fighting though and you have got some mad skills."

"Well just keep this between us, but I am a fighter and I also teach how to fight MMA style as well as other files."

"Wow..wow..wow.." is all Lachlan could say.

We landed in New York, she got off the plane before I did, I mind linked my brothers to try and detain her if possible. She gave them a slip as they were not paying attention to her, useless assholes. I knew her name was Dee, she was going to Finland and new what gate she was headed too. She dipped into the bathroom so I waited just outside, trying not to be creepy at all, Lachlan walked by and looked at me staring at the women's bathroom cocked his eyebrow. "Waiting for someone bro?"

"No, why Lach?" I asked.

"You look like a creepy creeper stalking it's prey outside the bathroom that's all," He laughed thinking he was funny.

Dee came out spotted me, smiled and walked away. You have got to be kidding me! My brothers just started laughing at me as she walked on. Dee looked back and had the biggest grin on her face as if she was trying to hold in a laugh. Looking at her shaking my head I saw some skanks walking towards her, I followed them to protect her although she would protest I'm quite sure. One of the twats tried to take her bag she turned and decked him, grabbed another at his wrist taking him to the ground.

"Shit, she's got some fight," talking to myself.

Damhan looked at me, back at her and said with wide eyes, "Well don't get her pissed off she just may bite your head off!"

We hurried and handled the rest of the asshats and handed them over to security. Talking to Dee she was not happy but I calmed her down just by touching her, sparks flew and man did it feel good. I knew right then and there she was mine all mine and that I loved her. But I had secrets about our world and could not tell her yet until I have her trust and her love.

We walked to her gate and talked a little more. "Give me your phone please," she said. I handed her my phone she gave me hers, I looked at it not quite knowing what to do, she just looked at me, rolled her eyes, "duh put your name and number, email in there ding dong."

"Uh-Oh, yeah ok, here done," handed it back to her.

"Mine is in there so now we can text or call. I also attached my flight when I'll be in Scotland and where I am flying into. You know when I come if your offer still stands?" asking me if she was unsure.

"Yes, I'll even come and pick you up, but right now I have other business to take care of here in New York. Be careful lass and do not wonder too far from the gate, don't want you to get into trouble again." Then got up and left but not without giving her a kiss on the cheek.

We go get our bags and take a bus to our town home here in New York City where we settled in. We met in the kitchen and ate lunch a couple of brothers stayed behind to get some sleep and the rest took off to their office downtown.

"Did you see the way Dee fought those thugs?"

"Yeah, she's all muscle man and can she fight."

"Makes her sexy as hell."

"Yeah it does and add on all those curves, she is pretty bad ass."

"She will be able to handle herself no matter where she goes won't she?"

They continue to work in their office on paperwork discovering that there are many discrepancies in their financial part of the business. They call Evander to help look over the papers they have in front of them.

"Conall look here there is a huge discrepancy here during this month of two hundred thousand dollars. It is missing but it does not say where it has gone to or who took it out."

"Call Lizzy in here she takes care of these transactions as well as Harry and a few others."

They call Lizzy and ask her about the funds missing in the larger amounts that do not have explanations next to the memo. This is something that is a must so that the brothers know exactly what is being spent and where their money is going for. It helps when tax season comes around for anything that can be written off.

They continue to view the papers line by line and on find more and more of the same amounts totaling over three hundred thousand dollars just for starters. This money is supposed to go towards the new building they putting up that will house apartments, shops, gym, and a recreation center for those who live there and in the city. They also are building a wing on a children's hospital for those who have cancer and the families need a place to stay.

Conall calls the others into the office that remained back at the house to come in telling them they have a problem and need all eyes and hands on deck to help out. When they heard this they came right away taking some of the work and looking over the papers they had and were finding more money taken out and not being used for the new wing or the building. None of them had authorized any of the monies to be pulled out of their account which is for building materials for both buildings. They also have money set aside for furnishing both places and money was being stolen from that account as well.

The monies were mounting to be well over a million dollars combined and there was nothing to say who was taking the funds out without authorization and making notes for what is is for.

"Lizzy look for any receipts for these transactions and who withdrew them and why. We need to know and follow the trail, please get back to us right away."

She got right on it and went through her vouchers of requests, checks, with draw slips, anything and everything she could find. She even enlisted others in her department to help her out asking for their files for the dates in question. She is their supervisor but she had noticed one person who was missing all the while, Harry. She went to his office and started looking through all of his files and found some important information that she immediately took to her bosses.

"Here, I found these on Harry's desk I don't know if they mean anything or not but I hope you do find something in here that you will find useful."

"Thank you Lizzy you have very well finding what we need, please keep looking to see if there is anything else or anyone else we need to look into."

With that she left to go back to her department and continue to look around everyones' desk since they were away at lunch. She could snoop a little closer to see if they have any paper trails that she could get a hold of and forward them to the brothers. She found a few more files and put names on them. She took everything she found up to their offices.

"I have found more information, I put their names on the files that way you can call them into the office together or one at a time. I also provided their logon id's to look into their digital files and track their spendetures as well."

"Your work is much appreciated Lizzy, you may take the rest of the day off."

"Thank you sir, I do have somethings that I need to get done with family. I will see you all tomorrow, bye."

They have Champ look into the electronic files while they continue to look into the paper trails they have. It takes several hours which they will be in their office for the long haul. It will take all day and night possibly overnight. Definitely several days.

They continue their investigation over the next several days with Champ and much is coming too light but with no explanation why the monies have been taken out.
