Chapter 2 BOWS AND ARROWS

"Where are we off to?" Ryan muffled his mouth filled with jelly beans. Sabrina was carrying arrows with silver plating and sharp shining silvery tips. A deadly werewolf hunter weapon she was carrying with an ordinary human beside her.

"Of to the forest. Ryan." She stopped making a cringe face, looking at Ryan filling his mouth again with jelly beans.

"Yeah?" He stopped staring at her, having no idea why she was annoyed.

"You brought jelly beans while we are here to hunt?" Sabrina asked in a manner of fake shock. What else would she expect from Ryan? He has always been like that.

"Uhh... Is it like a forbidden thing to bring along?" He asked, taking out two more packets of jelly beans. The stupidity and cuteness are both at the same time.

Sabrina couldn't hold on anymore. She let out a hilarious chuckle, " Of course not. You are a genius. Give me some." She snatched a packet from him and walked to the safest place in the forest.

"So what are we doing here? Are you letting me shoot once?" Ryan asked, raising his brows at Sabrina. She shook her head in denial.

"I'ma go first." She positioned her bow and arrow in sync with her jawline. Her back straightened and she pointed at the tree at quite some distance from her.

"Wow! You look like a professional." Ryan remarked, still smirking at her while feeding himself.

"I'm always a professional, honey." She winked at Ryan and shot her arrow, hitting the bullseye. The proper center of the stem of the tree. Her arrow ripped barks howling her victory.

"What the hell?" Ryan stared at the arrow, open-mouthed. "You said it was your first time trying." He whined looking at her annoyed.

"It is my first time. Maybe this happened because my mother was also good at archery and now it's in my blood." She shrugged her shoulders indicating she didn't have any accurate explanation for this.

"Alright. Let me try now." Ryan cleaned his hands and took Brina's bow and arrow. His position was slightly crooked as to what seemed to Sabrina.

"You gotta straighten your back a little Ryan." She tried to help him.

"Huh!" He scoffed at Sabrina, shocking her, "I have done this a thousand times before. Don't tell me what to do. Just watch me now." He smirked with pride in his smile. He was so overconfident knowing he can definitely make it.

"Alright. Alright. Go ahead." She stepped aside, letting her hands in the air in a defending position.

Ryan shot his shot. Obviously, I'm missing it. But missing it so miserably was more ridiculous. His arrow didn't even touch the tree. Instead, it dropped down two feet away from him.

"Should've listened," Sabrina muttered, lowering her head. Holding back herself from laughing out loud. Ryan hissed and kept trying but not once did his arrow make it to the tree.

"Okay. okay. We need to leave. The dawn has been set." Brina started to pick up the arrows and took the bow. The werewolves will soon come to hunt here and the forest won't be safe for them.

"I'm not gonna leave with you." Ryan declared, acting frustrated with Sabrina.

'This Bitch!' Sabrina rolled her eyes in her mind. She started to walk away from him. The evening sky was changing its color to purple-cloudy.

"Oh wait! What was that?" Sabrina stopped at a distance from Ryan. Faking an act of hearing something. She peeped at Ryan who was also looking in the same direction as hers, with a break of fear on his face.

"Was that a werewolf again? Hmm. Could be. It's their time to hunt." She muttered did loudly to make Ryan hear her words. He gulped harshly. Not wasting a single minute he rushed towards her. Started to walk beside her.

"I'm not scared." He glared at her, seriousness on his face.

"Did I say you were?" Brina teased him, smirking, knowing how much of a scaredy-cat he is. He won't even stay alone for a minute in dark places.

"Stop it." He muttered, hissing at her. Both are childhood friends and know each other too well to not understand the meaning of each other's actions.

"What did I do?" Brina giggled again and shrugged her shoulders.

Ryan sighed, "When are we coming here next?" Ryan asked, getting excited to shoot those arrows again and fail in it.

"We are not coming here anytime. If my dad found out that I took you in the forest and even let you use my weapons. We are both dead." She flashed him a tight smile while he whined convincing her and promising her not to let her father know anything about it.

Both went to Sabrina's house. She put her bows and arrows in place. Her father came back from work on time. Everyone was ready to have dinner. Ryan helped Sabrina's dad to set up the table. Whereas Sabrina made some mac and cheese for dinner.

"So Ryan, tell me one thing." Andrew put his spoon between his fingers, chewing his food. He smirked at Ryan and Sabrina.

"Yes sir." Ryan was enthusiastic to know Andrew's question. He was like a family to them. Most of the time Ryan would stay at Sabrina's house rather than at his.

"When are you both going to know? Be together." Andrew jokes. He knows their friendship is only limited to friendship, still, Andrew wants his daughter to find her love. She has never brought any guy home not even once except for this idiot.

He was worried if she would ever leave all the work and focus on enjoying her life.

"Dad. Not again." Sabrina whined, clasping her hands on the table.

"I have already asked her many times. She just won't go out with me. But I'm going to be loyal to my duties, Sir." Ryan saluted Andrew. Both of them ignore Sabrina totally.

"Said like a true warrior," Andrew remarked, eating his food. Chuckling at frustrated Sabrina. Even though she has been friends with Ryan for so long. She just can't get out to feel anything more for him.

The morning shinned at her window. She groaned another day of school. Moping off to the floor. She dragged herself to wash up properly. Losing her hair. Wearing her tight yet stretchable clothes. Not like those in which you would look like a girly girl rather a tomboy.

She entered the school, her backpack hanging around her shoulder. She could never look like a girl. No makeup, no perfumes, and no girly acts. She has nothing to identify as a girl except for her breasts and figure under her baggy jackets. She always wore tights underneath the baggy-oversized ones.

"Look what a day! Another Mowgli has arrived." Mariah clicked her heels, standing on the other side of the small hallway. Chuckling loudly with her minions. Laughing at Sabrina. She would have never known about her only if she hadn't had an interaction with her yesterday.

Sabrina ignored her comments. Shaking her head. She kept doing her work. Then finally she was done, closed her locker, and was about to walk past it.

"Oh maybe because she doesn't have a mother to teach her what a girl wears," Mariah remarked, rolling her eyes. Getting Sabrina's full attention.

Brina let out a held-back sigh. Telling herself repeatedly in her mind not to kill Mariah. She turned around and stared at Mariah. Scoffed and stepped towards her group.

"Was I not clear yesterday? Or does your ears have any problem?" Brina gave her a cold-dead face. Even her little smirks were deadly.

"Do you not read school codes? I can get you expelled for what you said." Mariah flashed a toothy smile, licking her lip with her tongue, showing how captivating she is.

Brina chuckled, nodding in response. Another second her smile faded away as soon as it hit her face. She grabbed Mariah's back of the neck. Pulling her closer to whisper in her ear.

"How are you gonna complaint if I kill you before you can realize?" Sabrina growled a whisperer, giving Mariah shivers down her spine. Mariah forcibly pushed Sabrina away and stood behind.

"See, she threatened me again. I'm going to take you down right now." She hissed, yelling at Brina.

"Go ahead," Sabrina smirked, daring her to even walk in front of her.

"I... You do need a lesson." Mariah went to slap Brina across her face without knowing who she is. She shouldn't have taken her for granted.

Brina stepped aside at time and let out her foot in front of Mariah, making her fall down on the ground. Brina made it look like it, Mariah fell on her own.

Sabrina silently chuckled and tsk at Mariah. Bending down to her level she put a strand of her hair behind her ear. Sighed and stared dead into her eyes.

"Never ever mess with me. This your one and last warning." she sternly in a low voice muttered only for her to hear and stood up. Walking over Mariah she went for her class. Leaving everyone in the hall gawking at her.
