The morning dawned bright with the sun shining it appears the rain moved on no clouds to be seen. Angel had a tough time sleeping last night because of the incident outside her house. She could have sworn someone was watching her the feeling eased after she got inside, but her skin still tingled. Angel's classes would be starting soon plus they have the gig at the club dressing and brushing her long hair she was ready for class. College was a struggle her creative classes she loved the most, art, music, and writing, but she had to take other courses.
Her mom only agreed to pay for school if she took classes to earn a degree. As far as Pearl Lockett was concerned a degree in the arts wasn't a real thing. Angel decided to take courses in education cause maybe she'd be a teacher this pleased her mom. Zane, her brother was taking courses to be an engineer, but he was hardly at school. Entering the room of her first-class music she saw Beck, Britta and Lara already seated. Taking her seat between Beck and Britta she sighed then Dillon walked in and hurried to his seat next to Lara.
Beck looked at Angel, "Damn girl you look like shit."
Angel huffed, "Thanks Beck, glad you noticed I had a bad night."
Britta spoke, "That explains the heavy makeup everything good at home."
"Yea nothing to do with my mom I just felt as if someone was watching me."
Lara shivered, "That's a bit creepy," today Lara had her hair out of the braids, and it was wavy.
Beck agreed with Lara, "More than a bit."
Britta could feel there was something else, "There's something else isn't there."
Angel sighed, "All night I had strange dreams which kept waking me up."
Dillon spoke, "You should have called me I would've come over and kept you entertained."
Britta laughed, "You're not the kind of entertainment she's interested in Dillon."
Lara then laughed, "Ouch low blow Britta."
The door to the classroom opened and their teacher Ruth Lancaster came in, "All right class enough chatting it's time to begin. Some of your classmates are not here today because of other class programs."
Angel sighed again, "Oh thank god I don't think I could handle Trista today."
"Dillon, when is your brother going to be back in town," Beck asked.
"He should be home already but let's hope he is by the time of our gig."
Ms. Lancaster spoke just then, "Guy's please be quiet, now we have a new student coming today she should be here any minute."
Angel looked at Beck, "Beck I wanted to tell you I'm glad you went back to a natural hair color. I mean the blue was cool but."
"I couldn't agree more Angel, I've been hiding from my sister at this point."
Ms. Lancaster suddenly shouted, "Class be quiet!"
They all said together, "Sorry Mrs. Lancaster."
Lola heard the shouting from the hallway as she walked toward the classroom. The door opened and she saw only a few of the students sitting at the tables, "Excuse me I think this is where I'm supposed to be."
Mrs. Lancaster smiled at her, "Yes you must be Lola Sikes. Everyone this is Lola let's make her feel welcome."
She smiled at everyone, "Hey guys."
Dillon spoke first, "Hey hottie, why don't you come sit by me."
Lola puffed but walked toward the man who had spoken. Pulling out the chair she took a seat then said, "My name isn't hottie its Lola."
Lara laughed, "Oh burned again Dillon."
Beck laughed too, "It's just not your day bro."
Angel looked at Lola closer she was very pretty with long auburn hair which she currently had up in a large bun. Her eyes were a lovely green she also had some tattoo's looked like words on each of her forearms.
"Now class I'm going to be giving you guys a project for this term."
Just then the door opened, and a young man stepped inside and shouted, "I'm back bitches."
"Beau Adams please watch your language now sit down and shut up," Ms. Lancaster was frustrated.
Beau walked over to the table where Lola was sitting pulled out the chair and sat down, "Sorry Mrs. Lancaster," he looked over at her, "Hi you must be new, I'm Beau Adams."
She smiled at him, "Yes, I'm Lola Sikes, twins huh."
Dillon spoke first, "Yes, but I'm the hot one he's the dumb one."
Beau laughed, "Talking about yourself dumb one, you know I'm the sweet one."
The boys did look quite a bit alike, but Beau had a little longer hair, and it was redder than Dillon's and his eyes were more hazel. Just like his brother, Beau had tattoos down his arms on his chest, stomach, back and legs. He also had one under both eyes one said babe the other was a heart also both ears were pierced with hoop looking gages.
Mrs. Lancaster had had enough, "That's it I can't deal with you people today. I'll assign the project Monday class dismissed."
They all shouted as they ran out, "Yes freedom."
Angel and Lara parked themselves on a park bench outside of the school just chilling, "I can't believe we're playing our first gig," Angel said.
Lara shook her head, "It's going to rock, soon we have to meet up with Sky though."
"I know, oh great here comes some guy."
Lara looked over to see the guy, "Oh yummy."
I very muscular guy with caramel colored skin walking toward them. His hair was shoulder length the color of reddish brown with plenty of tattoo's.
"Hello ladies," his voice was deeply rich.
Lara spoke, "Hello is there something we can help you with."
He smiled, "My name's Gordan, I'm starting class here on Monday. Just wanted to check the place out."
"It's nice to meet you, I'm Lara and this is my friend Angel."
"It's a pleasure to meet you both."
"I hope you like it here in Hollow Valley, by the way our band is playing at The Sky Club you should come check us out," Lara smiled.
"Thanks, I just might do that see you two later," he turned and walked away.
Once out of ear shot Lara hummed to herself, "Mmm, that is one hot man."
"Was that wise of you to invite a complete stranger to see our band play."
Lara laughed, "No, but he might have found out about it anyways."
Angel nodded her head in agreement, "But what about Tyree."
"It will be his loss, I'm tired of trying and waiting."
Britta was walking down the sidewalk heading toward her house when she suddenly heard someone grunt. Looking over she realized she was standing in front of Maxim's house seeing him sitting on the top stair of his front porch. Heading toward him she stopped before him, "Hey Maxim you all right."
He looked over at her she was wearing a shot black leather dress with spaghetti straps, "Hey Britta I'm not sure at the moment."
"If it's all right I'll sit down maybe we could talk for a bit," she looked at him. He had golden blond hair and hazel eyes just like every one of her friends he had lots of tattoos.
He smiled sadly, "Sure that would be great."
She went up the stairs and gently sat down making sure you couldn't see up her skirt, "What seems to be the issue."
He noticed she wore a four ringed white choker with the word love on it, "Wow we haven't really talked since high school."
"Yeah, since you started dating Trista."
"I'm starting to think it's not a promising idea to be with Trista anymore."
"Why don't you just leave her," Britta hesitated to say this.
He shrugged, "I've been thinking about it, but she can be vindictive."
"I've heard that, well if you decide to, I'll be here to help in case you need it."
"Thanks Britta, I miss our friendship."
She stood then going down the stairs before turning back, "Yeah me too," Britta sighed heavily as she walked away if only, he could see how much she cared about him.
Angel and Lara arrived at The Sky Club going in it was already busy and you could see a bunch of bands bringing in their gear. They both say a young woman and man standing talking to some other people and made their way over to them. The people left leaving them with the woman and man.
Lara spoke, "Hello are you Sky Burk."
Sky looked at the two women, "Yes."
"I'm Lara, Star told us to come down for the gig."
"Oh yes, Beck, Star's brother is part of your band."
"Yes, this is Angel the founder and singer of our band," Lara introduced.
Sky looked at the beautiful woman, "Nice to meet you Angel this is my partner Keon."
Angel smiled, "It's a pleasure so how does this work."
"We have several bands come and play each Friday. If the crowd likes you, they shout encore then you get to come back next Friday to play again."
Lara asked the next question, "What if they don't shout encore."
Keon answered, "You won't get to come back next Friday then you have to wait a few months before we allow you to come back."
Angel took stock of the two people Sky was beautiful with light blond hair which she had pink highlights through. Her eyes were a deep blue it looked like she'd put temporary tattoos on herself along with a hoop nose ring. The man Keon had bright red hair that was kept short his eyes were a deep green. He had no piercings but had a sleeve tattoo down his right arm.
"Well then let's get this party started," Angel replied.
Trista happened to be sitting with Maxim and another man when she heard them talking to Sky, "Great the loser squad is playing here tonight."
Maxim sighed sadly, "I've heard some of their music it's not bad."
Trista glared at him, "Nobody asked you Max."
Darrick was leaned back with his hands behind his head watching Angel. He was a thug with muddy red hair shaved on both sides and long on top. He was covered in tattoos with one being a spider under his right eye. Piercings on the bridge of his nose, under his nose and one through the lip.
Finally, he spoke, "I don't know about you, but the silver haired girl is kind of hot."
Trista rubbed her hands together, "Hmm, you think so well this gives me an idea."
Darrick smiled at her because just like him she was evil to the core, "Do tell."
"I want you to cozy up to her tonight and do as you wish with her."
Maxim was looking at her, I mean really looking at her. She was beautiful with long blond hair and cold blue eyes no piercings marred her face. She only had one tattoo on her lower back of some daisies. Funny looking at her he didn't feel anything no butterflies in the stomach, no tingling along the skin nothing.
He spoke suddenly, "I don't think that's a clever idea Trista."
She didn't even look at him just said, "Shut up Max."
Darrick finally responded, "That sounds like an excellent idea."
The bands started to play, and everyone moved to the upper level which had another bar, dancefloor, and stage. Between each of the bands playing there was a short break so the next band could set up the stage. This also gave people time to mingle Angel was standing off to the side and the strange feeling from last night returned. Looking around her eyes collided with the most beautiful blue eyes. He was gorgeous with coal black hair streaked with some silver it was long a part of it covered some of his face. Her heart hitched in her chest and her skin tingled just from the mere look he gave. Kenyon was once again stunned by her beauty with pale skin he saw freckles across her nose and under her eyes. Her eyes were a beautiful shade of blue like a clear lake. She wore a two-piece outfit in deep purple the top was skintight coming to stop midriff so you could see her flat stomach. It was low cut enough you got a good look of plenty of cleavage the skirt was short stopping a few inches about the knee. High heeled boots going up to her calf finishing off the outfit was a necklace with a large purple stone on a single silver chain. Her hand went up to her throat as she watched him her long nails were painted black and wore several silver rings on her hands.
Angel studied him for a moment he wore a zebra print dress shirt buttoned only halfway up showing a finely muscled chest. Over the shirt he wore a black jacket, black jeans and boots finished it. On his hands he had black half gloves and around his neck was a small cross on a black chain. She had to look away because she couldn't catch her breath when she looked again, he had disappeared into the crowd. Lara was standing next to Angel and Britta when she saw Gordan coming toward them.
Stopping in front of her he smiled, "Hey Lara."
She smiled back, "Hey Gordan."
Britta leaned back catching Angel's eyes without a word she inclined her head. Angel explained, "He's new in town and is going to our school. We meet him earlier today at the school."
Britta just mouthed 'oh' then Lara introduced her, "Britta this Gordan Royal."
Gordan briefly looked at her, "Nice to meet you, Britta."
He only had eyes for Lara she was wearing black pants that flared at the bottom and had ribbons going up the side of them. She wore a tight short black tank over that a white mesh top, black boots finished the outfit. Around her neck was a white choker and her nails were a neon green.
"I was wondering if you'd like to dance before you have to perform," he asked Lara.
She smiled sweetly at him, "I'd like that," together they moved out onto the dance floor.
Dillon, Beau, and Beck approached them and asked who the guy was. Angel explained it to them then she found herself alone as each of them went off to dance. Dillon spotted Lola and before Beau got a chance, he asked her to dance. It didn't matter because an attractive brown-haired person came to ask Beau to dance while Beck asked Britta if she would dance with him. Angel felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up it wasn't the same feeling she had from the man with black hair. This was bad, looking behind her she didn't see anyone and when she turned back the man with black hair was before her.
He smiled tentatively at her, "Hello," he said.
His voice was deep and smooth like whiskey she felt herself shiver, "Hello," she replied.
The freckles on her face were a beautiful light color and he could see silver flakes in her blue eyes, "I saw you earlier and wanted to meet you."
Her voice was fine and musical, "I see, I'm Angel."
His heart responded to this woman in a way he hasn't felt in a long time, "I'm Kenyon."
"Are you with one of the other bands," she asks.
"No, are you," he wanted to reach out and touch her, but knew better.
"Yes, we will be playing after the next band," tingles broke out all over her.
Sky came to the stage, "All right while the next band sets up lets slow things down."
The music came over the speakers it was a slow song he looked at her, "Would you like to dance."
She smiled, "I'd love to."
He reached his hand out to her and she tentatively put hers in his and sparks shot up her arm at the mere touch. She saw he was affected too as they walked onto the dance floor then he wrapped his arms around her waist. Angel placed her hands on his broad shoulders then they swayed together to the song. He was tall she'd guess six-three, but with her heeled boots the top of her head touched his chin. Kenyon noted she was small and delicate but well-muscled with curves in all the right places. Her body responded to him on a whole different level then the other guys she's dated. He felt her whole body go soft as she stepped closer and laid her head on his chest. She could hear and feel the beat of his heart unfortunately the song ended to quickly then the next band started playing a heavier song.
Angel stepped out of his arms and instantly missed the connection, "Thank you for the dance, Kenyon."
"Your welcome Angel," he watched her walk away and felt himself stir. She had the greatest ass and a natural grace to her walk.
He turned and headed to the bar to get some water while Angel went over to her friends cause after this band, they were next. They all headed to the room supplied to get their gear as the last band finished Keon came in, "You guys are on."
While another song played over the speakers Angel and her friends set up their gear. Lara sat up her portable piano, while Dillon set up his drums, Beck and Britta both worked with their guitars. Beau had finished with his bass and was helping Angel set up the special effects boxes on each side of the stage. One sent out flames while the other one snow once the music over the speakers ended Sky stepped onto the stage.
"All right everyone it seems as if you aren't liking anybody tonight because I haven't heard any encores yet. Well, let's bring on the last band of the night."
Kenyon stood at the bar hidden by the crowd on the dance floor but had a relaxing view of the stage. All he could think was 'it's about time' by having dance with Angel he couldn't wait to hear her sing, but nothing prepared him for it.
Sky shouted, "Let's put your hands together for FIREICE."
As she exited the stage strobe lights began to spin around the stage then some flames and snow shot out of the machines at the edges. Dillon began to beat on his drums while Lara played her piano. It started out as a slow beat then Angel began to sing:
"I've got a dream 'bout an angel on the beach and the perfect waves starting to come his hair is flying out in ribbons of gold."
Kenyon wasn't prepared for the quick punch to his libido when she began to sing small waves of desire spread through his entire body as h watched her. Angel moved forward to the front of the stage, "I've got a dream 'bout and angel in the forest enchanted by the edge of a lake his body's flowing in the jewels of light."
The crowd was really feeling the music as Angel continues to sing, "But I don't see any angels in the city. I don't hear any holy choirs sing and if I can't get an angel, I can still get a boy and a boy would be the next best thing the next best thing to an angel."
The rest of the band began to play as she sung that verse she looked right at Kenyon. He was utterly mesmerized by her, "I've got a dream 'bout a boy in a castle and he's dancing like a cat on the stairs. He's got the fire of a prince in his eyes and the thunder of a drum in his ears. I've got a dream 'bout a boy on a star looking down upon the realm of the world. He's there all alone and dreaming of someone like me. I'm not an angel but at least I'm a girl."
Kenyon found that verse interesting since she was an angel, but he continued to stare at her as she moved around the stage in her easy grace. The crown was really into the music moving around rhythmically.
"I've got a dream when the darkness is over, we'll be lying in the rays of the sun, but it's only a dream and tonight is for real."
Trista had to admit they were good, but she wasn't going to tell anyone that. As the song was ending everyone in the crown began shouting, "Encore, Encore, Encore."
Sky stepped up on the stage, "It appears you really love FireIce so they will be back next Friday to play again, but for now let's put on the house music."
Kenyon was still reeling from the emotions coursing through his body as she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. But when she sang it was pure magic, Angel currently stood talking to one of her band members.
"We did so good tonight," Angel said to Britta.
"Yes, we did, and we get to come back," Britta smiled.
"Yea, I feel closed in a bit though, I'm going to get some fresh air out on the balcony."
The Sky Club was cool in its design with different outdoor areas to get air. The other awesome part is you could still hear the music on them. Britta nodded her understand, "Okay, come get me when you're ready to leave we can go together."
"Sounds good," Angel stepped around Britta heading for one of the balconies.
