Chapter 5 Chizoba

One of the reasons why this evening lesson is going to be sweet is because Collins won't have to do some house chores again like washing plates or his uniform. These days the only thing that Collins does whenever he comes back from school is to take his bath, eat, watch BEN 10 and go to bed(Says night prayer at times).

But the only good thing he does is that he now reads his book just to prove to everyone attending the lesson that he is intelligent. On a Tuesday evening at the lesson center, Collins proved how intelligent he was by reading multiplication table 12 down to 18. This little display of his made the lesson teacher make him the prefect of the lesson center. She gave him instructions to always find something he can teach others when she is not around and also put down names of noisemakers whenever the class is noisy. Now the young Collins sees this avenue as an opportunity to express his authority ability.

Now as a class prefect Collins has so many ways to get on with chizoba.

One day after the evening lesson they have to submit their classwork for marking. After marking it, Collins searched for chizoba's book and saw that she failed almost all the questions. When the evening class ended he approached her and after much inquiry based on her score he requested that she sits near him so that he can be helping her at times.

When Collins got home that day he was very happy and also singing at the same time. When he was confronted by his mother, he told her that as he was taking his siesta today in class, an angel appeared to him. When she asked him what the angel said Collins went ahead to tell her that the angel said he will live long.

The evening lesson, the class prefect post and having chizoba by her side every day made Collins turn a new leaf. With the money which was meant to pay his lesson fees, Collins at times buys biscuits for his new seat mate. Both talk at times and get good marks after each exercise. The bond grew to the extent that Collins can see chizoba at times in his dreams. Most at times he even smiles because both were playing in the dream. After the exams for the term, Collins's father got an invitation from their Village king asking him to come back home for a chief title, and taking this title means that they will have to travel back to the village because he needs to be attending the village meeting. Collins came back from school that day with his result which was the best in school. After the celebration, his father broke out the news to him. At first, he did not believe it and when he later did he felt like the earth should open and swallow him. Now the little relationship that he just started will go like that. Collins became sick and slim also with his head now bigger. At night he kept on wondering why his world is like this and why he can't have a female friend who can last forever.
