'I'm only 22, I am acting according to my age.' She said to herself, rolling her eyes while ascending the stairs. She then decided to rest for a little longer before heading to her bathroom for a bath.
She just had sex and so she sorta reeks of alcohol and sex as well.
'They're not wasting a single day for this engagement.'
When she got out, she scanned through her closet and chose a casual gray sleeveless dress with a rend neckline. She put her hair in a ponytail and added lip gloss to her lips. As she was putting on her earrings, she heard engines going off and car doors shutting. It only meant that the Whites have arrived.
She was certain she didn't want to get married and was determined to call off the engagement at whatever cost. But all her courage died down when she saw her mother greeting the Whites. Nothing can stun Ellery than her.
"Ellery will be done in a while," April said.
"Dr. James." Dylan White greeted. Ellery was by the balcony peeking at her intended but she couldn't see his face clearly. Swallowing hard to calm her nerves, she dragged her feet down the stairs. The trio was facing her with their backs as she went down the spiral staircase.
"Mommy," she called with the tiniest voice. April looked back and then Christopher followed by Dylan who took his time.
Ellery's eyes widened as her gaze landed on the tall guy with moss green eyes.
"Oh my god!" She covered her mouth with her hand as she saw the guy she run away from this morning.
Dylan was very cool with it, and so she realized that maybe due to the alcohol he may not even remember his face.
They then all went to the dining room. Dylan and Ellery were sitting across from each other and by their parents.
"I don't mean to be rude Mr. White. But why do you want us to get married?" Ellery asked.
"Because you're a beautiful girl, Ellery. And a decent one unlike the other girls this prick brings to my home." Dylan smirked at the comment as he remembered last night's events.
"I know you have your doubts, seeing as my son is ugly. He would need a beauty like you to balance out his looks." Christopher teased, but everyone knew he was lying because Dylan is one of the most handsome men she's ever laid eyes on.
"I only got it from you dad," Dylan commented.
"Christopher, don't get it all wrong. My daughter here is very excited to marry Dylan. Isn't that right Ellery?" Her mother lovingly said. Ellery's heart swelled when she heard her mother calling her, her daughter instead of negative adjectives she used to say in the past.
"I'm sorry but you haven't given me time to make up my mind. We don't even know each other." Dylan cleared his throat and squinted his eyes at Ellery. "Besides, I'm not sure if Dylan here would want to be married to me." April felt embarrassed for no reason at all.
"I understand. Marriage is a life-long commitment but you don't have to be worried at all. Dylan will be lucky enough to have you as his wife." Their lunch concluded yet Ellery was still to make a decision.
She doesn't mind getting married at 22 if that would mean emancipation from her parents. But she doesn't love Dylan and has her heart set for Nikolaj. Sure they were different in age but she knew that he was the one for her.
"Hello, wifey." A voice teased at the back of Ellery's head as she sat on the swing in the backyard.
"I haven't even decided if I want you." She snarked.
"That's not what I've heard from last night, 'Take me! I want you!' Now!" He smirked as he walk in front to see her face. Ellery's eyes popped realizing that Dylan was pretty conscious last night.
"Shut up!" Ellery gritted as she was getting a bit annoyed.
"Do you prefer me without clothes? You haven't even apologized to me yet." Dylan gave a sexy smile that Ellery took notice of.
"For what?"
"For leaving me all vulnerable and naked this morning after taking advantage of me last night."
"If I knew you're the one I'm getting sold to then there won't be last night."
"Ouch! We've already consummated our marriage, all that's left to do now is to get married."
As much as Ellery enjoyed last night's sexual encounter with Dylan, the idea of getting married to him scared her. She then stood up to leave but Dylan grabbed a hold of her wrist.
"Dylan can you just not agree to this marriage. I have a little say in this but if you refuse they'd probably listen to you." Dylan's brows frowned as if he was hurt by what Ellery just said. "Am I that despicable to you?"
"Not at all. It's just that I'm in love with someone else." Ellery said with a soft voice.
"Fine, I'll call off the engagement. You deal with your mother on your own." Dylan then took his leave and went straight back to the house. Ellery didn't feel relieved at all, she knows that if she won't act quickly and convince Nikolaj to take her back, then she'll have to face April's wrath on her own.
