Chapter 3 3

Just then, the door flung open and Nadine walked in, holding a lunch box, hair packed in a bun, looking as innocent as ever. Beads of sweat on her forehead like she had been working too hard. Trent's eyes fell on the lunch box she held first, then he traced her exposed lap to her innocent face. "My Lily" He called. Nadine's face lit up, she didn't smile, she was surprised. Trent moved past the three adults, he stopped in front of Nadine. He looked at her from her head to her toe. Her face was slender, white, and pretty. Her lips were pink, full, and kissable.

Her facial features were overly pretty. Then he looked at her hair, black and shiny, so pretty. "Can I touch you?" Trent asked. Nadine was still getting over her shock, she nodded her head, her cheeks blushed. "Did he just politely ask her?" Assistant Mu asked no one in particular. Trent has never been polite in his entire life so Assistant Mu was more than surprised when he politely asked Nadine if he could touch her. Trent smiled and touched her waist, he pushed her closer to himself. Nadine gasped, She dropped the empty lunch box. Trent touched her waist to her stomach, gently while looking into her hazel eyes, he raised it. "Is it you?" He asked. Nadine didn't say anything. He took two steps backward, heaved a huge sigh, and bent over to look at her tummy. His eyes went all over her white clean tummy until he found it, the tiny mark under her navel. His eyes blew in excitement, he widened his teeth and looked up at Nadine. "It's you. It is you" He said, fact lit. He hugged her so tight. Nadine widened her eyes when he pushed her into him suddenly and hugged her. Her arms dropped beside her as he hugged her right. "Don't you remember me anymore?" Trent asked. He thought Nadine didn't remember him anymore because of the way she was behaving. Still, Nadine didn't say anything. She was just looking at him, surprised as tears burnt the back of her eyes. "Mom" She called as if scared. Mrs. Oreo walked to her daughter immediately, hugged her, and faced Trent, she said; "Please leave. She is overwhelmed right now" Assistant Mu understood this, he walked to Trent, held his arm and they both walked out. As Trent walked out, he said; " She should be hugging me like that instead. Like what the fock is this whole chest for?!"He beat his chest comically and walked in front with a cold face. Assistant Mu smiled behind him. In Nadine's Room: A well-decorated room with a lot of designer bags and shoes. "Why did you cry like that?" Mrs. Oreo asked when she had calmed down. Nadine looked up at her mom and said; "Because the doctor said Madine won't wake up anytime soon" She answered, pausing to take a breath. "It's Madine he came for." Her mom said. Nadine snapped her head and looked at her mother wondering how her mother knew Trent Hustin came for Madine and not her. "I know because you both are my daughter. You don't have a mark below your navel, Madine does. How did you get one?" She asked. "It's not a real mark mom. I was cleaning Madine up and I saw the mark below her navel. I wanted to be both Madine and Nadine to you so that's why I drew it there. I didn't even know I would meet Trent Hustin here." Nadine said tears burned the back of her eyes as she talked. She looked very innocent and fragile. "Nadine, you will get married to Trent" Mr. Oreo chipped in, walking fully into her room, sitting beside her, and touching her face. The mother and daughter looked at him. "No dad I can't. He came for Madine and not me so let him marry Madine. Moreover, I have my relationship " Nadine shook her head, protesting, looking at both her mom and dad. "James, leave Nadine out of this" Mrs. Oreo said, she loves the two of her daughter very much and she wouldn't want anything bad to happen or for them to get hurt. James shook his head and said, looking directly at Nadine; " Do you think if Trent knows Madine is in a coma like that, he would still want her? There are a lot of women who want him, do you think he would wait for Madine to wake up? Do you want to lose such a prominent Son in law" Mr. Oreo asked the last one, looked at Mrs. Oreo, and school his head as if disappointed. "And you, you want to lose such a prominent husband?" He added referring to Nadine whose tears were endless. Mrs. Oreo turned to the other side thinking of what her husband had said. It was a jackpot. If Trent truly knows Madine was in a coma, he wouldn't wait for her, she thought. But Mrs. Oreo didn't want Nadine to pretend to be Madine. It's cheating to both Trent and Madine. " Since he doesn't even recognize Madine's real face, let's just make Nadine pretend to be her. After all, he doesn't know her name either" Mr. Oreo uttered. With tears in her eyes, Nadine looked at her mother. Her eyes glistened in both tears and light. "It's just right to keep such a prominent Man." Her mother said. Nadine cried out the tears in her eyes. Then she hugged her parents so well. "I don't want to do it either mom but for Madine, I promised her I would be both Madine and Nadine. I'm trying to keep the family mom so I'll do it. " She said and hugged them again. "Yes, you are. You're such a good girl."Mr. Oreo said. Three days later, Trent came back, Nadine was ready. She did her make-up and wore a body hug gown which flattered her shape. Trent smiled seeing her. She looked very pretty. "My lily" He called. Nadine smiled, walked closer to him, and said; "Trent Arrogant Hustin" She said. Trent smiled, moved closer, and kissed her on her forehead. "You remember I'm arrogant," He said and she smiled. Quickly, Trent faced her parents and said; "Mr. Oreo, I already bought shares for your daughter in the company. I bought shares for each and everyone in the family. You just have to give me names of everyone in your family" He said, his eyes on Nadine. "We are just three," Mr. Oreo answered quickly. Mrs. Oreo looked at him and rolled her eyes. Her heart suddenly ached for her daughter. "He made a mistake, we are four but our last daughter is in the hospital," Mrs. Oreo said. "Noted. By the way, our wedding is in two weeks" He smiled. Nadine smiled as well, she held his arm and rested on his chest. "We agree" The two adults uttered with a joyous tone. Two Days Later; Nadine entered her car, the one Trent just got her. She smiled inside the car like a queen. She drove all the way to the hospital to see madine and tell her again all that had happened. She got to the hospital, parked her car, and walked into Madine's ward. Madine with brown hair, clogged in a cap. Her face was as white as porcelain. Her red lips had turned white, while a tube was passed into her mouth. "Hi, sister" Nadine smiled and waved at her sister. "Can you see my finger?" She asked, a long silence went on. "Oh, no you can't because you're in a coma. You know God allows things to happen because of other things. You know when I tempered with your car that day, I felt very bad. Very very bad that I cried all night but who knew it only happened because Trent was coming to claim you. Ha! I even wanted to tell dad what I did but he was too engrossed with you he didn't listen to me. " She rolled her eyes, took in a breath calmly, and continued. "Do you know the amazing part about this? It's the part where I tattooed the same mark you had on your navel because why? I was there the same day Trent told you to show him a mark and he would claim you one day. In case you have forgotten sister, I have always been in love with Trent. Since I was ten years old but no, you took him to your selfish self! I know that's is the reason why God placed you in this situation because Trent was never yours in the first place. He was mine! Mine and only mine!" She yelled, raising her head to slap Madine. However, her hand seemed to be held up in the sky. Nadine Widened her eyes, traced the hand with pink fingers; "Madine?!" She called, stupefied. "You!" Madine said and slapped her face. Nadine was very weak, it took just that one slap for her to fall to the ground. Anger showed on Madine's face so much, she removed all the things on her body and stood up, she walked to Nadine with anger. "You!" She yelled pointing at her. " How dare you do this to me?!!!" She yelled again walking towards Nadine whose eyes were already red, teary, and swollen with fear.
