Chapter 5 Time to break some rules

Arianna was tired of how Gavin has been treating her for the past five years and she was equally fed up with Samantha's taunts. Maybe it's time to break all the rules and walls placed and built by Gavin. She decided to do things her own way.

Arianna got home after her work out and discovered that Gavin hasn't left for the office yet. She quickly rushed to the kitchen.

"Did you pack lunch already? Arianna asked a maid

"Not yet ma'am" answered a maid.

"Go ahead. I'll do that. What do I make for him?

"We've prepared his lunch but I haven't placed it in his lunch box"

"Really? I'll pack it then. Go ahead"

"Yes ma'am"

"Oh my ..such a lovely delicacy. Lunch box...lunch box

..where art thou? Oh! There you are. Time to pack the lunch for hubby"

Gavin walked into the living room. His driver took his suitcase to his car.

"Am I forgetting something? Ah! My lunch. Where's my lunch box?

"I'm coming! Ariana yelled from the kitchen.

"Isn't that arianna's voice? What is she doing in the kitchen?

"Here. Your lunch" Arianna said giving the lunch box to Gavin.

"Why is it coming from you?

"Don't worry . It's safe. The maids made the lunch and I just packed it. You can have it"

"You're not allowed to make food for me.

"Like I desire to do so. Gush...your mum was in the kitchen so I had to take fulfilling my wife duties. Why am I explaining things to you?

"Because you're lying"

"I don't lie . I don't have a need to lie. Geez. I'll head to our room now. I have a photoshoot"

"I don't care about your photoshoot"

Gavin took the lunch box from her and left for the car. Arianna smiled and rushed to the bedroom. She was really happy. Her first attempt was successful. She had her bath, got dressed and went downstairs for her breakfast before leaving for the shoot.

After her shoot , she met up with her friends, Caspian and Kimberly who were designers in a top fashion company. They met up at their favourite restaurant. Arianna was the last to arrive. She scanned for her friends when she noticed a hand waving at her.

"Hello guys" Arianna said

"Oh my G! Ari! It's been a while" Caspian said

"Yes Casp. How are you? Arianna asked

"Really okay. You look so good. I was just complimenting Kimberly's beauty and here you are, absolutely gorgeous. You're like a goddess. You're more beautiful than Kimberly"

"You flatter me"

"Wow! Nice one Casp. Back stabber. " Kimberly sad jokingly "oh I missed you Ari"

"I missed you too Kim. We were so busy, hooked up on tight schedules that we couldn't meet up"

"When was the last time we met? Caspian asked

"Three months ago, I guess" Kimberly said

"Yes. We wishes each other a merry Christmas and happy New year on a video call" Arianna said

"Yeah, you're right. Great memory Ari. So ladies, shall we dig in? Caspian asked

"Yes. So tell me baby, how's your marriage? You look so beautiful. I bet your husband is spending all his money on you"

"Funny. And you look so beautiful. How's your husband, Gerald and your son Ace?

"They're doing great"

"I really wonder what's keeping Caspian from getting married. I'm married and Kim is married and you Caspian... nothing"

"What? I'm courting a girl named Natasha and I'll soon propose to her"

"Really? Is it true Kim?

"True? You know Caspian barely tells the truth"

"I'm not lying. There's a Natasha in my life"

"I believe him. You should Kim"

"I'll do that when I witness them exchange rings and marital vows at the altar and walk down the aisle together, linking arms"

"Wow!I can't believe that Kim is my friend. You should believe me when I say I have a girlfriend"

"And I can't believe you're my friend too. Caspian never change. C'mon dude change. You'll totally benefit from it"

"Ari, talk to your friend Kim"

"So funny. Honestly, if not that Kim is married already, I can confidently say that you too are perfect for eachother. More like soulmates."

"What? No! Kimberly and Caspain yelled

"Are you okay Ari? I guess you need some treatment. I'll book an appointment with my doctor. Caspain? C'mon, he's not my type"

"Like you're my type"

"There they go again. Can we eat in peace without blabbing a lot? Arianna asked

"It's Caspain's fault. I'm such a quite girl. I Kimberly Gerald don't blabber"

"Good grief. Spare me those lies girl. Ari look..."

"Please...can you two just stop nagging each other like babies. I'm already having a bad day"

"What? Why? What happened baby? Kimberly asked

"Can I trust you two? Arianna asked them

"Yes, you can. I don't know about Caspain"

"Hey! I'm cool. I can keep secrets"

"Guys. I have a problem"

"Problem? What is it? Kim asked

"I can't tell them the truth. What do I do? She mumbled to herself. "Well...guys... it's nothing"

"What? C'mon Ari. You can trust us" Kimberly said with a smile.

"Okay. My husband is so focused on this project he's handling and we barely spend time with each other. I feel so lonely. What do I do?

"I can keep you company" Caspain said

Kimberly quickly hit Caspian's hand and glared at him.

"You can never understand a woman. Maybe .. that's why you're still single"

"I'm not. I have Natasha"

"Guys! For once quit quarrelling and focus on me. I'm loosing it all. I'm done. I'm leaving"

"No don't. I'm so sorry for annoying you. It won't happen again. We won't do it again. Right Caspain?

"Yes. Ari sweetie..."

"Okay, fine. I need some tips on how to show my hubby that I care about him and I'm not trying to break any rules or keep him away from the project"

"Really? Okay, listen girlfriend.", Kimberly said holding Arianna's hand "You can cook his favourite meal and make his favourite juice and place notes containing sweet words that will melt him. You can choose to prepare the meal as breakfast, lunch or dinner or all. Number two, make a lovely bubble bath for him to relax in after a hectic day and keep a bottle of wine on the table to have after his bubble bath with a steak. You can also give him some head massage or shoulder massage or a body massage. You can also pay him a surprise visit at the office with his favourite meal or treat him out for lunch at his favourite restaurant. Do his laundry and...."

"Calm down Kimberly. You're pretty fast. I couldn't grab everything. Honestly all you said...I don't actually like them all. Well...okay. I'll give it a try. I need something romantic and...uhmmm"

"Romantic? An idea.... I do this often to my hubby. I help him wear the tie, while doing that, I look into his eyes and make my state seductive, bit my lips slightly and wink at him. After putting the tie on him, I either give him a peck or kiss hims softly. Trust me , if you do this to your hubby, he's gonna have a go with you. He'll definitely hold you back and trust me...your bed relationship will be resurrected" Kimberly said

"If I do this....Gavin will murder me. I won't make it out alive " Ari mumbled

"Did you say something? Kimberly asked

"No. Nothing. I'll try to do what you said"

"Finish up with your meal ladies. Hello...table manners"

"Yes dude. He's such a pain Ari"

"I'm not. Am I?

"Please eat you two"

They finished up with their lunch and Arianna bid goodbye to them. Arianna arrived at her house and left for her bedroom. She rushed in and quickly changed her outfit. She went downstairs and walked straight to the kitchen. She checked the menu for dinner and tried figuring out Gavin's favourite dish. She beckoned one of the maids to come. She asked her about Gavin's favourite dishes. The maid told her his favourite dishes and the meals he so much dislike. Arianna put everything she said down in a paper and placed it in her pocket.

She asked the maid to leave the kitchen. Arianna grabbed the apron and covered her hair. She brought out the ingredients she needed in making some favourite dishes of her husband. She washed the vegetables and began to slice and dice some. She began to cook. Arianna really enjoys cooking. Despite begin a model, she never failed to make dinner for her family unless she was out of town.

She finished cooking and started dishing out the food. She asked the maids to prepare the table. Not long, Gavin drove in. He went upstairs while his parents came down for dinner. Arianna with the help of the maids served Gavin's parents their dinner. George was amazed by her cooking and couldn't stop praising her.

""Wow! I must confess Arianna, your cooking skill is exceptional. I love it when you cook"

"Really father? Thank you sir. I'll take Gavin's dinner to him upstairs"

"Why upstairs? He's coming down for dinner" Samantha said

"No he's not. I'll go ahead" Arianna said and left with Gavin's food which she carried gently to their bedroom.

Gavin was in the bathroom having his bath when Arianna walked in. She placed the food on the table and sat on the bed waiting for Gavin who came out few minutes later on towel. He didn't notice the food on the table until he turned to ask Arianna out for him to change into his sleepwear.

"What's that?

"Oh this? Your dinner"

"My dinner? Why is it here? Who brought it?

"I did"

"You what? Why?

"Your mum insisted, I tried to decline but I can't argue with her, so I decided to bring it to you"

"I was about to come downstairs for my dinner"

"It's here already so let's eat. This looks so delicious I must confess. Yummy and it tastes delicious too. Come a d have your dinner"

"Yeah I know. Bring it over here"

"No way. You can't eat on your study desk. Come eat with me. It's no big deal"

"Looking for excuses to get close to me"

"What? No way" she titters

"Your nervous laugh. Fine I'll eat with you then. Happy?

"Nervous laugh? No way. Sit here darling"

"Darling? Arianna...you can't call me that"

"Okay. Here...take this..hope you like it"

"It's nice. Who made this? The maids? Mum?

"No. I did"

"You? Impossible. You can't make this delicious meal"

"Thanks for complimenting the meal and what do you mean by that phrase?

"Just stating my honest opinion. Ari, please let me eat in peace. I might choke on my food"

"Sorry darling. Enjoy"

"Arianna...."

"Sorry. Baby"
