Veer was settled on the couch inside the hospital room towards my left. He insisted me to take some rest before the doctor comes for checking me. But I didn't rest. My wandering thoughts were so unsettling, that I couldn't rest at all.
I was more desperate to find out something about myself. Without any memories, I'd started feeling the emptiness building up inside me, which was terrible. Again and again, that nightmare was replaying in my mind, where in, I was trying to see something I could understand or know about myself. Normally, anyone would've panicked at waking up and finding out that they couldn't recall anything happened right from their birth to the time they went to sleep. I would've also panicked, but I stopped myself. That way would never give me answers I wanted.
Veer was going through some files. With his expensive clothes, his polished look, and the way he was walking around some time ago, the way he spoke on the call, I presumed him to be a businessman.
But, who was I?
Before I could realize, I was already asking him this question.
"Mr Mehrotra?" I called him out.
He just hummed in response, his eyes stuck on the file he was keenly going through.
"Who was I?" I asked, hoping to get some answers.
My question stopped him from reading forward. Veer looked up, directly into my eyes. His cold gaze made me stop breathing for a moment. This wasn't the expression what I'd seen in his eyes when he'd entered the room. His face also never showed any expressions accept worry or triumphant smirk or coldness. But I could clearly see the warm heart behind those cold cages.
"Pardon?" He muttered, acting as if he couldn't understand what I asked.
"I asked who was I? Was I working women, obviously I was (this I remembered from my nightmare), then where was I working? What was my professio...." I kept on rambling.
Maybe, the stress was starting to bubble up in me.
In response to my blabbering, Veer rudely showed his hand up, telling me to stop with a disinterested look on his face. This reaction offended me very much. I didn't know if I was normally an angry bird, or the frustration that I couldn't remember anything was making me feel incensed.
Frankly speaking, I was so much confused about myself. To me, it was like, who the hell I was? I got up seeing a dream where I was attacked. After I got up, I met an attractive handsome jerk who was okay okay in the start but started to irritate me after some time without doing anything.
If he didn't wanted to let me know anything, or tell me something, that could help me out of my misery, then why was he still here. He could get lost any time.
"Aadhya, I'm very much busy at this moment, I have a very important video conference. So I hope you'll not disturb me, will you?" He replied in an irritated tone
And that tone irked me.
"Oh yeah? Sorry, but I will disturb you. You just finish your conference and then see." I snapped.
Veer's jaws clenched. It was clear the he was trying to control his anger. Maybe me rebuking irked him or he has anger issues. But why was he irritated with me? Hell with his anger. He is not the only one who could give orders and do whatever he wants. I'm Aadhya and I determine to do things on my own. I don't take orders.
Deciding not to come in between his work, I huffed and then noticed that my fists were also clenched, as if I too have anger issues. I was sure that my frustration of not being able to recall anything was completely converted into fury. Feeling that if I stayed there for even a minute or more then I won't hesitate to disrupt his video conference, which I didn't wanted to do. So I got up from the bed and searched for slippers or some footwear but there was none found. Great then, I'll walk barefoot.
As I walked out of the room, I could sense his gaze burning on my back. But I didn't care to turn back, instead, turned towards the next corridor to find the way to terrace.
I was slowly making my way, looking around, and slowly started feeling nauseating. My hands automatically reached to my head and it started spinning. I immediately stuck my back to the corridor wall for support.
Oh God, the world is spinning.
'No idiot, you are going to pass out' my subconscious mind before passing out.

DREAM
"There is no way I'm taking up this assignment." Aadhya declared in strong voice.
She was standing in the center of a dark room where only source of light was the full moon up high in the sky. The moonlight was directly hitting on her face which, she made her feel a bit better.
A man, nearly in his late forties came by her side and placed his hand around her shoulder as if they were high school buddies.
"You have to take up this assignment D.A. They are paying us too much." He chirped, making her snort.
Aadhya's face twitched in disapproval. He insisted her to do it. But she still stayed firm on her decision. She was playing with a golden bracelet around her wrist as she told him its dangerous but he replied that from when did she started thinking 'its dangerous'.
"That's my problem that till today we used to work for us and now we are working for someone else's profit. Not fare. And do you have any idea Sir why are they giving us this assignment, only to cover up their carelessness. What if someone else dies?"
"No one will die when you'll be there."
Aadhya pulled off the her hoodie cap so he could see the displeasure clearly on her face. He was also wearing a similar one, but didn't pull it off.
"I don't think so." She mumbled in annoyance.
"I have faith on you D.A. You never failed me till today and if you even try to start, at the end things will be fallen on its place properly." He said, patting her shoulder.
This is what she wanted, his trust on her so that she could get her hands on the evidence she wanted, that folder. It was high time now. She had to strike and play her game. Suddenly someone from the corner of the room decided to put his nose in between their discussion.
"D.A. He is our boss, you have to accept his orders."
"Jay!" The man with Aadhya warned Jay not to open his mouth in front of her but he was too late as she had already marched towards him. Aadhya pulled him by his collar and glared with her firey eyes.
"I'm D.A. and I determine to do things on my own. I don't take orders."
*****
I slightly opened my eyes only to find myself on a stretcher and some people pushing it into a room. I caught the glimpse of a deep blue coloured saree and understood that Dr.Ishika running behind them.
They brought me back to the same room. Before I could even sit up, Dr.Ishika sat by my side and took my wrist to check my pulse and then signed the boys to leave.
"I'm okay!" I mumbled, not actually meaning it. My head throbbing had stopped, but I was feeling internally weak.
"Says the one who passed out in the corridor." Ishika replied, sarcastically. "Where were you heading to?"
"Terrace! For some fresh air." I answered. I wanted to breathe in open space.
She dabbed a cotton drenched with some liquid on my hand and drew out some blood from my body. In between I noticed her peeking at me, seeing if I was going to pull my hand away at the sight of injection. But I didn't even flinch.
"How are you feeling?" Ishika enquired, after putting everything away.
Why was everyone asking the same question?
I nodded in okay. Then she said something to the nurse and the nurse left. I just scanned the whole room to see whether Mr.Mehrotra was still there. Disappointment filled in my heart when I saw he wasn't there. But it was better than we get on each others throat.
My mind shifted back to the dream I saw after I passed out. What was that?
"Penny for your thoughts?" Ishika muttered, raising her eyebrows making her look cute.
"Huh." I didn't notice her still sitting by my side.
"I asked where are you from?" She asked.
Oh God, what will I answer her when I don't know myself.
"Doctor, I don't know, I mean I don't remember anything" I answered in a cracked voice.
"Amnesiac? You have lost your complete memory?" She voiced out, bemused by my revelation.
"Yes doctor, I just saw a nightmare before I woke up and could only recall my name, Aadhya."
She nodded, still lost in her thoughts. I shook her hand to gain her attention.
"I have to talk to the chief doctor." Ishika said to herself.
"Talk to them later but now help me. Please, I have to find out what was my past and what was I working for?"
This was my chance.
"What can I do?"
I asked her to tell me how I got there. Who brought me there? How much was I hurt? She answered each of my questions patiently.
"Veer brought you here in his car. He didn't explain much about what and how all happened. He owns this place so we didn't question much. All I know is that he didn't let the police to interfere." Ishika explained.
In between, she stopped to see if I was understanding everything she was telling and wasn't feeling dizzy or something. But I kept urging her to go on.
"You were stabbed in your stomach. The cut was wasn't that deep, seemed like a stab from pocket knife. But you were shot directly very close to your heart, and your were bleeding too much when he'd brought you in carrying in his arms."
I felt my heart drop into my stomach. Tears brimmed as I pictured everything she said. I couldn't say anything. But her words proved that my nightmare was true. There also, I was stabbed and then shot. That nightmare was so freaking true. Does that means the another dream I saw was also true?
"I'm sorry for you Aadhya. You slipped into coma because of the risky operation."
Rest of her words were ignored by my ears as my train of thoughts had stuck at one place. How did Mr.Mehrotra found me?
"Where is Mr.Mehrotra?" I asked.
"He is talking to the chief."
"Ohk. Could you get my things. I mean my dress and whatever I had with me, my phone, etc. You know, of that could help me to know something."
I wasn't going to keep asking Veer to tell me something about me. I understood by his earlier behavior that he doesn't wants me to find out about my life.
Ishika nodded with a genuine smile.
"You know, you look familiar." She said.
Not knowing how to respond, I shrugged.
A nurse came in informing her that she has to be present at the meeting held in twenty minutes. Ishika told that nurse that she'd be there on time. Turning back to face me and she assured me of getting my things later.
As she left, I decided to take someone rest and think about the dreams later. But as I was about to doze off, the sound of footsteps alerted me and my eyes got stuck on Veer Mehrotra who was making his way in.
